Like what? All it really does is run chkdsk and wipe your data (MFT). It takes forever because of that /r switch. Maybe try running chkdsk /r and you'll see it's way more than just a few seconds.

My bad, I was probably thinking about an eventual low-level format 😉
steelfox34 said:Hi everyone. I’m not sure if I’m in the right place, but I’m hoping someone can help. I have a huge problem and I don't know if there's any way to fix it. Basically, our computer got hit by a virus. My husband took it to a friend who ended up wiping the whole system and installing a fresh version of Windows, but they didn't save the photos of my baby girl from the hospital. I want to know if there is any way to recover images from a formatted hard drive and, if so, how? PLEASE HELP, those memories of her first moments mean everything to me and I'd do anything to get those pictures back.
If it was just a quick format, there might be a chance—which is likely what happened. But that window of opportunity closes fast every time you actually use the computer.
Turn the computer off and leave it off. Take it to a pro who handles data recovery; maybe they can pull something off. Don't get your hopes up too high, especially if the machine has been used much since the wipe...
I don't think it matters whether the power supply is objectively or subjectively sufficient. The real question is whether it works practically 🤣 . And yeah, it’s enough. Don't worry about it.
Maybe aim for something like a 7600GT, 7900GS, or an x1950. I guess those are pretty much the peak of what you can get for AGP. They might run slightly over your budget, but you could probably find them on Craigslist for around $133.
If you're dead set on buying something new, then maybe look at the x1650...
It’s getting late and my eyes are blurring, so I can't really dig through all the posts right now. If someone could just give me a quick answer, I'd appreciate it.
I'm looking for a PCI-e card that can actually handle GTA 4. My budget is around $233 (maybe a little more if needed). Would an HD3870 work?
Mark Hughes36 said:Someone mentioned that profiles get automatically deleted if you don't log in once within a six-month window, so I'm wondering if that's actually true. How would posts from a deleted member be displayed then (or posts where they were quoted)?
Which part isn't making sense to you:

Moving on.
Mark Hughes36 said:Also, if it's even possible, I'd love an explanation from someone in charge about why we aren't allowed to request profile deletions (it seems pretty illogical to me...)
It’s pretty simple. This forum is someone's private property, and you joined voluntarily, which means you accepted the rules. It's like if someone demanded you delete their phone number and all their texts from your iPhone—well, at the end of the day, it's their phone.
Angela Wright said:Do you deal with night sweats or insomnia? Any muscle cramps, or does your heart race when you do something simple like walking up stairs? Maybe some choking sensations in your throat while eating, or issues with blood pressure?
I sweat like crazy, but not at night—just during heavy exertion. No insomnia issues either; I can sleep way more than I actually get to, so that's not it. I get cramps in my right calf, though, mostly just when stretching in bed after waking up. I climb four flights of stairs a few times every day and haven't noticed any heart palpitations. No throat issues or choking sensations. Blood pressure seems fine.
Angela Wright said:If you have any of those other symptoms, the tremor might be tied to thyroid issues. Just a heads up: if you want an accurate diagnosis and the right treatment, you’re probably going to have to bite the bullet and get some blood work done. Then again, tremors can stem from all sorts of things—circulation problems, spinal issues, neurological glitches, or maybe it's just essential tremor that you were born with.
I figured it would be a hassle. I don't know, I need to think about it. I've tried to go through with it a few times... but I always chicken out. 🙈
-I open my hand and stretch out my fingers, they just shake on their own
-my muscles tremble while I'm working too (😕)
-At the gym, when I'm benching, my arms shake quite a bit. Even though I can handle the weight easily. Same thing with my legs; I can hit 220 lbs on calf raises without an issue, but they still shake even under much lighter loads
-I hug a girl a little tighter, my hands shake...
I'm not weak, and I'm not skinny, just average. Does anyone have a crystal ball? I haven't gone to see a doctor because I know they'll just send me off to a lab... That's actually the biggest issue, hemophobia. I haven't had blood drawn in over a decade, not even at my physical for work, nowhere.
I realize I should probably **be worried about it getting worse, but just thinking out loud, what could it be?
I've met a ton of people in real life who I first connected with online. In maybe 90% of cases, they were actually decent people, but then you've still got that other 10% who are just total idiots 😁
