I actually really liked it- It wasn't dragging along like Spider-Man, and it didn't have all that unnecessary drama they shoved into Hulk, Just pure fun. Exactly how a comic book movie ought to be handled. 😁
Decent movie, I was actually bracing myself for some nauseating scenes, but it’s surprisingly easy to watch. It doesn't go overboard. Plus, there's a happy ending. 🙂
Luckily, I caught a satellite biography on Truman Capote, so I actually know a thing or two about him now. Capote had this weird way of talking, but what we see in this movie is just pure pretension. 😁 😁
The film is alright, I guess. I still need to sit down and watch Brokeback Mountain to decide which one actually holds up better.
I honestly find it hard to believe there was that much tolerance in America back in the 1960s— 😲

I truly wish you the best.

He'll get exactly what's coming to him, just in a different package. 😉
Sure, maybe a new guy won't masturbate right in front of her, or act totally dishonest, but he isn't going to stop the habit entirely—that's just how things work.
Besides, I read somewhere that skipping it can actually lead to cancer— it's just healthy to let it out; it clears the system. It's a necessity, plain and simple.
"Nothing about him bothers me as much as the pornography."
"He admitted to me early on that he used to be a voyeur..."
"Whenever he watches porn, he definitely masturbates."
"How do I fight these negative feelings that porn triggers in me?"
"Sometimes he even goes to adult cinemas or sex shops... The question is: Is he addicted? Is there any way to control this 'habit'???"
- Based on what's written here, she’s basically admitting she has an issue with porn, but she clearly doesn't even grasp what voyeurism actually entails—she's linking it directly to watching porn. It’s obvious she doesn't realize that most men do this. In her mind, the problem isn't him; there isn't even a problem to begin with. It's just a fundamental difference between how men and women function.
I’m looking to pick up this movie on DVD since everything is closed up because of the rain. 😳
The film is incredibly heavy and depressing... I ended up watching it right alongside today's Oprah special about how poor Americans are living...
It's just horrific. What a terrible country and what terrible people. 😳
It’s always the prostitutes getting blamed, when really it's the men going to them—the hypocrites who pretend to be respectable citizens while being even worse than this serial killer.
There was an older film about her on the channel earlier and—paradoxically— it played out like a thriller where she was depicted as a total monster. This one is more of a drama; it’s deeply emotional and portrays her as a victim of American society and its complete lack of empathy. Honestly, it feels more accurate. 😳

In his thirties?
Try forty, fifty, or even sixty. The issue here is that men have their own separate conversations away from women, so you don't even realize how much guys enjoy watching porn—regardless of how old they get.
We're talking about fundamental biological differences and the divide between men and women here.

We’re sitting here together in a university library (out here in Germany) and you want to know what he’s looking at? Public spaces!!! He just finds a way. Sometimes it's adult theaters, sometimes sex shops... The real question is: Is he an addict? Is there any way for him to actually control this "habit"???
And what man doesn't watch porn? 😕 Did it ever cross your mind that maybe you're the problem?
Besides, watching porn isn't voyeurism. It has absolutely nothing to do with voyeurism.

Naturally, I didn't miss out on a rewatch this time either😁.
The atmosphere in this flick is just unbeatable (unless you count the ending, which is honestly kind of stupid, but whatever...).
Those ships look absolutely magnificent, even by today's standards...🙏🙏
😁 😁 Anyway, it's playing on satellite right now so I'm catching it while I run the dishwasher and this 😬
I missed the beginning entirely— it starts with the moon as the intro scene. 😲
cosmicraven2 said:The movie doesn't explain it, but honestly, who cares? Within the first ten minutes, you're already thrown straight into the middle of the chaos. That’s the whole point of this remake—it's about the action and the mayhem, not some deep dive into the 'why.' (Though, if you're really that obsessed with the backstory, just go watch Night of the Living Dead or the original Dawn of the Dead.)
Yeah... And that opening sequence is actually pretty well done—those aerial shots were great.
Too many gross scenes—I guess they're trying to break up the tension, The whole movie is just revolting. Honestly? It’s more nauseating than it is scary. 😳
A few years back, I watched this documentary on PBS about how 70s American horror films were tied to the Vietnam War—how those two things feed off each other. Maybe this is supposed to be a commentary on the chaos in Iraq or what terrorists do to journalists right in front of a lens... reality imitating art, once again. 😳
And I seriously don't get it. How can Americans (the general public, anyway) be totally fine with explicit scenes of murder and mutilation, yet lose their minds over nudity? Especially when it's guys.😬 😁 😁
