Oh, almost forgot.
My rating for the movie:

And then there's that moment when Santa Claus pisses himself.

Or when the kid is just a little mess, covered in dirt and grime...

This is just awful... absolute garbage.
Who actually finds this stuff funny or entertaining? Honestly.
😕

What kind of mindset does someone need to actually enjoy watching that?
Honestly, I don't get it.

What kind of psycho would actually sit through that?
I don't get it—

If someone's looking for smut, why not just borrow a porn movie?

I didn't find it funny at all!
Sure, there are a few laughs, but for the most part, it’s a deeply depressing piece of work. That suicide attempt scene is heavy, man. 😢 😳

All in all—it's not really a Christmas movie. It's just sad and bleak...

In America, they seem to be just discovering how much they enjoy certain gritty, cynical behaviors: unfortunately, they're treating it like "entertainment" on the big screen.
I actually thought you might have enjoyed it, to be honest.
🙄 😁
Is the movie similar to 'The Big Lebowski'?
😕

anyway,
this movie could easily be called North American Santa
😬
Sean Nguyen4,
bottom line—this movie is a total waste of time.

What even is this?

Horror equals what?

I have to watch this.
😁
Ethan Perez97 said:I actually didn't know that. Send me a link.

Can't find one right now.
Anyway, I saw a link on an old IMDb forum back--
when you could still read stuff without having to register.
I’m not bothering with making an account now.

Bottom line, there are a couple of websites dedicated to this family.

From what I remember,
some guy and a woman fled town, moved into a cave, and ended up breeding a whole pack of kids.
Eventually, they started hunting people passing through the woods--
and eating them.
The police got suspicious when people started vanishing—
then the manhunt kicked off.
I can't recall how they even found out about them; I think someone managed to escape the cave and tipped off the cops...
And then it just follows with descriptions of how they hunted them down inside the cave.

Pure horror story.

And instead of actually filming a movie based on that, they just keep churning out remakes of the classics.
🙄
Ethan Perez97 said:Clearly, you haven't seen what actual brutal horror looks like.

Just finished watching Dostoyevsky—
Even most of the movies they run on those dedicated horror channels on satellite TV...
Most of what happens here is just mindless bashing and selling out directors. It’s nothing but constant nitpicking and tearing people down.
☕

Any idiot could whip up a horror movie like that.

Ethan Perez97 said:People claim this movie was based on the life of Ed Gein, that Texan serial killer. If you’re actually interested, go look him up online. Sure, he only killed two people, but the guy was a necrophile who dug bodies out of graves and decorated his house with skulls and bones. He even skinned the women he murdered—just total depravity. So, if you want the truth: TCM is basically pure fiction. It's just a story inspired by a pattern.

I’ve already covered this on this forum.
I’ve actually been thinking about this exact topic on this thread for months now.

Look, let's get one thing straight: Ed Gein wasn't some brutal monster hunting living people. You can't even label him a serial killer, because there weren't multiple victims found, and he never bragged about committing a string of murders. It just doesn't fit the profile.
He didn't even use a chainsaw—so yeah, the whole movie is 100% pure fiction.
☕
He lived in some tiny rural town—I actually checked the map down to the specific street where he grew up. It was a total backwater. Those people there used to skin livestock for a living, so that’s how he learned the technique. It wasn't some random impulse to kill; it was a skill he picked up from them. Sure, the guy was disturbed. He had this sick obsession with corpses, but he wasn't nearly as brutal as what we're seeing in this movie.

The inspiration for that cannibal family story actually stems from some old legends about a clan living in a cave out in the Scottish Highlands—a whole thing that supposedly went down hundreds of years ago. Since we're talking history here, I have to wonder how much of this is actual fact versus just tall tales from hunters and some fake-ass rural lectures designed to sound authentic.
Ethan Perez97 said:It’s not even that good, let alone brutal enough,

it’s just overkill.
There isn't even any actual horror here. It doesn't build tension; it just relies on senseless nihilism and pure sadism.

For me, the scariest part was the fake premise—that whole "based on a true story" gimmick.
🙄

What a total lie.

It’s boring either way, if you ask me.

So, let me--
spoil it.

The movie trailer is out there claiming some major character dies—total lie! Nobody actually important—certainly nobody worth mentioning—dies.

It’s an old cliché at this point, but sequels are almost always total garbage.
😁

That said, the premise for this horror-thriller actually holds water—it looks like they might actually shake things up and revolutionize the genre.

Caught ABC News this morning—they were running a quick rundown of the biggest movies out right now, and naturally, this one was topping the list because Halloween is right around the corner.

I’m sitting here still thinking about how I absolutely have to sit down and watch this sequel, plus the original... then it finally hits me. I already saw the first one. 😁 😁

The first movie is solid. 🙏 👍

The official website for this second installment is actually pretty sick. 👍

Just watching Fox News...
It’s like something straight out of a horror flick, happening again off the coast of the US—and of course, it involves a couple!!
😲 😲 😲
Only this time, they actually made it out alive.

😳

Two American divers have told How They survived nearly six Hours in shark-infested Waters OFF The East coast of the US.

Louis Woodger and Gordon Pratley were out on vacation scuba diving when a massive current dragged them six miles away from their tour boat.

When the pair finally broke the surface, the boat was nothing more than a tiny speck on the horizon.

They were stuck treading water, staring down at huge sharks circling right underneath them.

"We thought it was all over," Mr Pratley Said, 31, told The New York Post. "My girlfriend saw a shark circling, so we just held hands and hoped for the best.

"We decided not to look down and prayed that rescue would come in time."

The whole nightmare was a carbon copy of the 2003 movie Open Water in which Two scuba divers are left in shark-infested Waters after their tour boat vanishes.

"We saw the film Open Water and IT was Just as scary as that," Mr Pratley Said.

Rescue teams noted the couple was incredibly lucky to avoid becoming shark bait.

"The area where they were stranded is famous for big, man-eating tiger sharks," coastguard captain Ken McClean said.

The couple , from Bury St Edmonds was treated for hypothermia and exhaustion once they were pulled to safety.

Yep,

It's obvious the people coming up with movie titles are just subconsciously recycling stuff they've already seen.

studenticaADU said:The movie is great, but what really gets under your skin is how it leans so hard into that claustrophobic, psychedelic vibe. You get used to the atmosphere, totally settle in, and then—BAM—it jumps out and scares the hell out of you when you least expect it.

De Palma put out an equally killer movie back then—"Sisters"
with that exact same unsettling energy.

I really dig this quote from the flick:

Characters have to evolve. And that change? It’s gotta come from within.
