New Kids on the Block in Music ·
Man, I still remember when my sister came home from school all hyped up, asking me—her little brother—"Did you see that sick New Kids on the Block sign in the courtyard?!?!" And I just looked at her like, "Yeah, the whole campus is covered in it, I guess everyone's just obsessed with some random soccer club or something" 😂 She didn't even talk to me for a week because she was so insulted I didn't know what it meant
figured as much, but I honestly couldn't be bothered to look it up. thanks anyway
who's playing in the semifinals?

Alright, Index just broke the news, but nobody was surprised that David would show up eventually. I’m just wondering why they're suddenly targeting him specifically 😕
Vinny - well, like some people already said - thank God... the guy actually has experience and knows how to make moves. But whatever, it is what it is now.

Except I don't think they're called groups A and B... more like M1 and M2

yeah, just saw today that the groups actually got names. so, we're heading to Iceland. or maybe Tunis. sticking with Iceland though...

How’s the bracket set up for the quarterfinals? Is it G1-H4, G2-H3 and so on, or what...

It's the Euros, but Tunisia actually beat out the Israelis this time, so they totally blew it in front of the Europeans 😁 😁

Anyway, Denmark—I’d say they're basically the veteran version of Korea: fast, scrappy, great on the counter. Plus, if they get loose and we have to deal with their goalie, we're screwed. But since counters are the main weapon for Koreans too, it was like, what, 10:0 for us on the break or something... I wasn't making predictions before, so I won't start now. Though everyone already knows how this goes.
amfilohije, how much you putting down? 😁 😁
David Bowie, you missed the point. For those of us who actually care about the craft, the core message matters most—it doesn't matter if the melody is sung, played on a banjo, a harmonica, or an acoustic guitar. I'm exaggerating, sure, but by focusing on karaoke, you're completely ignoring the actual lead melody. 🙂

And what about songs in made-up languages? I don't know, maybe some stuff by Wayfinders comes to mind, which sounds pretty similar to how Gibonni does it—not even counting how Gibonni mentions a bee in his tea 🤣.
Or some random nonsense from Pips. Who knows, maybe "The Light Sleeper Postman." It's totally random, but honestly, it's a killer track... better than the original.

Classic textbook case. Even with him you still run into catchy little junk like Mike😍 but it’s just exhausting for us music lovers and non-conformists😁:
I don't care about the lyrics. Not even close. Guess it's because I've got that musical background... the actual sound is what matters to me. Harmonies, melody, modulations, layers of texture—that's where the real magic is. Yeah. I dig music in languages I don't even speak, even though my vocabulary isn't exactly huge.
Man, let's be real, there are sports where specific tournaments actually carry way more weight than the Olympics or the World Cup.
Take skiing, for example—the World Cup is basically the peak.
In soccer, if you set aside club stuff, I’d say the Euros are the top tier.
Track and field? The Olympics rule, but the World Cup is right up there.
Hockey is weird—the Olympics are huge, though the World Cup was pretty weak for a while because of the NHL.
Tennis is all about those individual Grand Slams and the Davis Cup, which honestly feels just as big as a World Cup.
Basketball and volleyball? It's all about the World Cup.
Handball—the Euros take it.

It just varies by sport. Still, even the skiing World Cup hits different...
It all ends up being the same thing. Whether you take it an hour or two too early or an hour or two too late...

Matthew Hall37 said:In wealthier countries compared to ours, they don't just dump chlorine in the water; they treat it with ozone instead since it costs more. Why do you think that is?

not really sure what you're getting at here😕
if you're trying to say chlorine is toxic, go ahead and take a deep breath of pure ozone and let's see how much longer you last...
Autumn Leaves is finally here!!! in Music ·
It’s got no rhythm, no soul, nothing to dance or play to. Just kind of gelatinous... pretty to look at, I guess, but totally useless. Fine if you want to sit in an armchair and meditate, though.
Is it safe to ingest essential oils? in Health ·
Someone’s trying to sell me on the idea that lemongrass and eucalyptus essential oils are some kind of miracle cure. They’re telling me to just drop a few drops onto a spoonful of sugar and eat it every single day.
I’ve never heard of anyone actually swallowing essential oils, so I’m wondering if this is total nonsense or if there's any truth to it. Is it actually fine, or is it dangerous? Personally, I think these oils are incredibly potent—borderline corrosive. My sister once had a couple of drops spill on her shoe and they practically ate right through the material...
Is tap water safe to drink? in Health ·
The water in DC is loaded with limescale. I remember living in NYC where our sink was constantly covered in those nasty spots, no matter how much we scrubbed... Down here in Miami, I don't deal with the buildup, but if the tap water sits out for a bit, the taste gets pretty gross. Anyone know why that happens?
I'm 300 lbs and need some advice in Health ·
Someone mentioned how bad deli meats are. Honestly? I'm right there with you... whenever I cut out that industrial garbage for even a month—mostly because I just get sick of it—I drop a few pounds easily. It applies to everything, really. Try to minimize anything that’s "grab-and-go" or just needs a splash of hot water to eat. We're talking bologna, hot dogs, mayo, candy bars, cookies, pre-packaged salads, maybe even certain cheeses. Modern life makes it impossible to ditch it entirely, but I feel like a new person when I take a break from it all.

Game on! Using a Yonex isometric 65 lt, which is honestly solid enough for anyone just playing for fun. No point wasting breath explaining how I’m not stuck in place or how fast the shuttle flies... it’s obvious.
