This Saturday at 1:10 AM on USA Network, they’re airing this absolute masterpiece by Adrian Lyne. The plot follows a Vietnam veteran dealing with a total mental breakdown, plagued by these terrifying nightmares after coming home from the war. If you just read that description, it sounds pretty bleak, but the movie is actually incredible. Horror fans, listen up: don't expect some mindless slasher or a cheap gore-fest. This is something else entirely. It’s a total standout. I’d especially recommend it if you’re into Silent Hill games, since this film was a major inspiration for that series.

Bottom line—if you're into psychological horror that hits you where it hurts with massive twists, this is a must see.

I watched it yesterday on Divx. Honestly? Everyone seems to have trashed it, but I thought it was alright. I actually dig how they didn't try to make it some deep, layered masterpiece; it’s just pure survival. If they had shoved in some Titanic-style romance or a trillion sob stories about every single character's tragic backstory and why they even ended up on the ship, I would've lost my mind. My only real gripe is that it felt a bit short—give me another 20 minutes of pure adrenaline and special effects and we're talking.
Look, if you ask me, this is a damn disaster movie, and it doesn't need some side plot. Sure, I'm just a regular guy, not some high-brow critic who lives to dissect cinema, but personally, it worked for me.
