Wait, isn't Candida actually a fungus?
Anyway, regarding health food stores:
Whole Foods is right at the top, then maybe Sprouts...
They have the most complete "selection" when it comes to healthy eating.

But what exactly are you hunting for? For bulk grains and stuff, check out Bob's Red Mill—just hit up their website, they ship everywhere, or you can usually find similar staples at a local Co-op on a Wednesday or Thursday...

I guess I should eventually prove my honesty to you—if that’s even necessary—but since you’ve already read through the entire thread, I don't see much point in attaching it anywhere else.

I’ve actually been giving this some serious thought 😎 , but unfortunately, I don't have any hard evidence—you know, like that damn piece of wood—but I can still say with absolute certainty that it was THEIR earrings that caused these injuries...
😁

If I had a decent camera, I’d show you all pictures of them...😁
So, I had these bamboo ones—hanging style, bought at a boutique in Austin.
The little bit that goes through the piercing is wood; it basically gets wedged into one side of the earring, then travels through the ear to the other side.
Naturally, it wasn't exactly a smooth process for me, so I started pushing a bit harder 😬 and the tip of the wood was split—at least, that's my guess—so the very end snapped off inside.
That thing caused an infection, and this capsule of scar tissue formed around the foreign object, which then migrated down a few centimeters—right under where my jawline meets my neck.
After a day or two, it moved even lower, and that was that. According to the doctor, there wasn't much else they could do.

I could have just left it alone, but the infections were happening way too frequently, so the medical team suggested we just get it out.

So, they numbed the area, made an incision, cut it out, and removed the entire mass.
That's pretty much the whole story.

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou in Movies ·
So, I was watching Life Aquatic—which made me remember this thread exists—and honestly, why wouldn't I give it a read? So, I started reading, and kept reading.

First off, hats off to Douglas Robinson12. 👋

Beyond that, I feel like I don't have much else to contribute because the guy has already covered everything—actually, he's probably gone even deeper than necessary—so once again, 👋
I just want to say how great it is that we live in such a versatile world... and how I still find myself getting excited about it every single time.

I was there last night.
It took about half an hour—the anesthesia was spot on, and the ENT specialist was absolutely phenomenal.
Got four stitches.

Larry Cruz51 said:It’ll probably just be local anesthesia and some sedation.
You’ll need to swing by for a dressing change once or twice.

And honestly, after that whole meltdown over Zuckerberg & Co—where you insisted I had no idea what was going on—I wouldn't take your word for anything either. So just relax. You really should.😁

I’ve personally dealt with enough nerve-related nonsense in my own spine to know...😬
But I'm telling you, I'm convinced it's just a minor outpatient incision.

In any case: consider this a public service announcement to stay far away from those wooden earrings they sell at that little hippie boutique in Greenwich Village.

What am I even supposed to do?

Just get yourself a dog 😬

I'm not exactly in any physical danger, I guess.
But man, it hurts.

I honestly can't wrap my head around how that could ever actually happen over there. 😕

with a wooden mustache, bought at Target.

Khm, this is starting to feel exactly like that old fable about the boy who cried wolf.
But fine—whatever, I guess I deserve this one.

Hey there.
Like I mentioned before... I’ve currently got a splinter lodged right near my neck by my ear.

I went to the ER and they put me on some antibiotics just to get the inflammation under control—once things settle down, they're going to go in and get it out.

If anyone here has dealt with something similar, please reach out... I'm hoping to hear from you by Wednesday... when I head in for the procedure.
I just really want to know what I'm walking into.
Thanks.

Yeah, look at me... I was being so incredibly brave—so "heroic," if you will—that now I'm just sitting here laughing at my own stupidity.😬

I dealt with that exact same issue with my second piercing on the left ear. 😁

Honestly? You just have to deal with it like an adult—occasionally pop the earring out, squeeze the gunk out, let it breathe for a day or two, and then put it back in. It hurts, I know... but what are you going to do?

The absolute worst part for me was that split second where I thought I’d actually pulled some tiny bits of skin or tissue out of the hole... ugh, seriously disgusting!!!

ps. if the pain is intense... just go see a doctor instead. 😍

Seriously, it was always stormyviper11.

That’s what I get—I shouldn't let myself get distracted when I'm reading through all these idiots' posts...😁

Richard Hernandez13 said:Does it actually capture the visual essence of Gibson's world?
The movie looks like it was cobbled together from literal garbage!
It reduces the whole cyberpunk genre to nothing more than neon lights, cellophane, and cheap plastic wrap.

Pure trash.

Where on earth did you get that from? I didn't even say anything like that in my post.

stormywolf39 said:You mean Gibson's😉 ...if that's actually true, it could be great—as long as it doesn't end up looking like Johnny Mnemonic 🙂

William Gibson, or maybe just William, right? 😉

Personally, Johnny was absolute trash for some very subjective reasons 😍
and I am dying to see Neuromancer, 👋 ...especially if Chris is at the helm. 😁
I honestly don't get what people expect from cyberpunk novel adaptations... it’s not like they're making Jacob's Ladder or anything.
I watched both The Matrix movies; the first one worked for me, but the second was just a complete disappointment.
Unfortunately, Gibson's tech is pretty dated by today's standards, but under Chris's direction, this could turn into something truly spectacular... besides, if you set aside everything The Matrix swiped (which is what Richard Hernandez13 was talking about), Neuromancer is visually and intellectually open enough to allow for almost any interpretation 🙂))

With these kinds of films (or projects, whatever), atmosphere is everything... the set design... smart cinematic choices (it needs to feel at least half as cool as a Portishead music video 😍 )... obviously, a fancy CGI render like what we saw in Immortal won't save it if the script is garbage.

Can't wait.

Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
Joseph Edwards86 said:Is it actually possible that saltwater—like, being at the beach—makes things worse? I feel like my symptoms have flared up since I started spending time by the ocean.

It’s certainly possible... the triggers for this stuff are so incredibly specific to the individual. We’re really just drawing conclusions based on personal experience here.
For one person, it might be a certain type of alcohol; for someone else, it could be physical exertion, spicy food, or even just standing on your feet for way too long. 😬
Garden State in Movies ·
Honestly, I expected so much more from this movie.
Maybe I just need to be from New Jersey to actually get what they were going for. 😁

I watched the trailers, and it seemed—well, it looked like just another teen romance, which I would have been totally fine with 😍 but... this kind of "philosophy" is just pathetic and shallow.

That scene toward the end where Natalie Portman and Braf are having that conversation in the tub? That really did it for me.
The absolute nonsense they were spewing out there...

I haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite yet (it had its premiere at the exact same time as The Sunshine State, and the hype around it was just as insane!) and I’m feeling pretty skeptical...

but the music in The Sunshine State is 👍

Look, you're spot on.

Do yourself a favor—head down to a local CVS or Walgreens and pick up their homemade "ointment for hemorrhoids."
It’s absolute magic.

Also, try taking ice-cold showers—it helps constrict those blood vessels—or even sitting in a warm bath with some potassium permanganate. I haven't personally tried the latter, but I know plenty of people who swear by it.

So yeah, there you go.
😬

P. S. Are we talking external or internal here? Based on what you described, I’m assuming they're external, because the internal ones... well, those just hurt.
If they're external, hit up the pharmacy.

Look, I can’t even post the link—the button is totally broken for me.

Anyway, look, Toxoplasma is definitely dangerous. It can cause blindness, hepatitis, and pneumonia—not to mention neurological issues—just like it says right there.

Thank God I ended up picking up some stray cats off the street again... honestly, I've lived with them my whole life, so that's probably why I'm acting this crazy. 😬
