Fashion for curvy girls in Fashion ·
When it comes to denim, I have to give it up for Levi's—they actually carry my size, and the cuts aren't just those super shallow, unflattering styles. I wear them myself all the time and honestly, I’m a huge fan. My only gripe is that the price tag can be a bit of a gut punch sometimes. For tops, I usually find myself hitting up Old Navy; they’ve got such great stuff, and more importantly, they actually stock my size consistently. If you’re feeling adventurous, maybe take a trip over to a bigger outlet mall nearby—H&M usually has some really cute options for curvier figures, and since I’m typically a size 14, I can always find something in their regular line that actually fits. It’s definitely doable, though I know hunting for the right fit can be a total headache and a massive time sink, but you'll eventually strike gold 🙂

I figured I'd just jump in here instead of starting a whole new thread. Last year, I started dealing with this sneezing fits—like, nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. To make matters more complicated, I have a pet rabbit at home who got pretty sick during that same window, so I was running to the vet every single day. That's when I noticed it: every time I handled him, my eyes would start itching like crazy and the sneezing would kick in. Plus, if he accidentally scratched me, I’d end up with these little bumps on my skin, almost like a stinging nettle burn. Eventually, my mom stepped in to take over the pet care so I wouldn't have to struggle, mostly because once my eyes start itching, I’m out of commission for days. Then, this past spring, I did a massive deep clean of my entire apartment—you know, the whole "spring cleaning" marathon—and suddenly I was sneezing uncontrollably, coughing, and my nose was just running non-stop. My first thought was, "Okay, it's definitely the dust." But here's the kicker: back in September of last year, I went in for a skin allergy test, and it came back 100% negative. So now I'm stuck wondering... is there some kind of more sensitive test out there? It feels totally surreal to have these intense reactions when my tests say I'm not allergic to anything!

Honestly, you’re probably better off just checking in with your doctor about when your next follow-up should be. They’re the experts on this stuff, so they'll give you the best call on when to head back in for a checkup...
Yellowing skin around the mouth in Health ·
I know this one girl who always looks a bit washed out because her lip liner is way too dark around her mouth; she just gives off this constant "unkept" vibe😁

I’m honestly just crossing my fingers here that they don't go and ruin everything I’m currently obsessed with.

I totally get where you're coming from! I was in the exact same boat—my prescription was just a tiny bit off, like -0.5 in one eye and -0.75 in the other. My optometrist at the local Eye Care Center actually told me I didn't even need glasses, but honestly? I pushed back for the same reasons you did. I was dealing with those nagging headaches, and whenever I’d try to look up from my laptop to the whiteboard during a meeting, everything would just go blurry. It was such a struggle! So, I finally went ahead and grabbed a pair, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer. I am so incredibly happy with them.
Psychotropic medication discussion thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’m dusting off this old topic just out of pure curiosity regarding these tablets. To be totally honest, the last month has been a bit of a wreck for me—I went through a breakup, I’ve been feeling pretty low on self-worth, and it feels like life is just throwing one annoying curveball after another at me. It’s incredibly frustrating. Honestly, I just need something to help me chill out and find some balance because right now, I feel like a ticking time bomb that goes off every few days, and it never ends well for me or the people around me. I’ve heard these things are plant-based and won't get you hooked, and since I'm fairly certain this is just a temporary rough patch in my life (it’s happened before), I was wondering if anyone thinks they might actually help me stay level-headed.
Losing my voice: What works? in Health ·
So, here’s the deal: I’ve completely lost my voice. It’s that annoying hoarseness that usually hits right after a nasty cold, probably because I was talking way too much and overdid it. Does anyone know a quick fix for this? I’m in a bit of a bind because I have to be sounding 100% by Monday, and honestly, I just don't have the luxury of sitting around in silence waiting for it to clear up on its own 😢
Stupid question :D in Miscellaneous ·
I actually caught a glimpse of the streetcar driver dealing with that mess, and man, it looked absolutely gross... I honestly thought they might find something more productive to do with their time than just sitting there picking their noses. 😁
Stupid question :D in Miscellaneous ·
So, I honestly have no clue where to go with this or who to even ask, and look, I know this sounds incredibly silly, but I can’t stop thinking about it, so here goes nothing 😁 I’ve noticed a few guys lately rocking a single long nail on their pinky finger. What is the deal with that? Like, what’s the actual vibe they're going for? Is there some secret purpose to it? 😕
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Hey everyone, I’m running into a bit of a headache trying to get online. I’ve got this Siemens Gigaset USB adapter 54 plugged in, and I’m following the instructions on the CD that came in the box. Everything seems to go fine—an icon even pops up right on my desktop—but then nothing happens. I click it, and it just sits there like it's ignoring me. It won't open or do anything at all. Does anyone have any bright ideas on how to get this thing talking to my main router, or maybe some other way to bridge the connection? Any advice would be awesome!

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hey ladies, I’ve run into a bit of a snag because my memory is basically non-existent lately. So, I’ve been on Yasmin birth control for a while now. I started my last pack and was doing everything by the book—I took my 9th pill on Thursday. But then, life happened! On Friday, I had to head out on this super sudden trip, and everything was such a whirlwind that the pills completely slipped my mind. Basically, I missed my doses on both Friday and Saturday. I finally got back and caught up on Sunday, and I’ve been back on track yesterday and today, feeling totally fine, except for one little thing: I just realized I’ve started bleeding. What do I even do now? Should I just power through and keep taking them? Or should I stop, wait out those seven days of placebo, and start a brand new pack on day eight? Honestly, I’m totally lost here.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Hey girls, I’ve run into a bit of a situation because my memory is honestly a total disaster lately. So, I’ve been on Yasmin for a while now. I started my last pack and was doing everything by the book—I took my 9th pill on Thursday without any issues. But then, life happened! On Friday, I had to head out on a sudden trip, and everything was such a whirlwind that I completely blanked on my pills. Long story short, I missed both Friday and Saturday. I got back and resumed my regular schedule on Sunday, and I've been back on track yesterday and today, but then I noticed I've started bleeding. What am I supposed to do now? Should I just push through and keep taking them? Or should I stop entirely, wait out those seven days, and then start a brand new pack on day eight? I’m honestly feeling so lost on how to handle this.
So, I actually used some Pepto-Bismol cream to deal with my facial redness, and honestly, it worked wonders for me. But, if I’m being real, I’d still suggest you go see a dermatologist. In my experience, sticking to a public hospital or a county clinic is the way to go. I tried going to those fancy private practices, and man, they totally wrecked my skin—and I ended up dropping a massive amount of cash just to make things worse.

Ear Piercing Advice? in Health ·
Billie Eilish, wait—I totally missed that part about it only being one ear! My bad. Honestly, I’m stumped now. It’s possible one side just heals way slower than the other, making it a bit more of a magnet for infections. If I were you, though, I’d stick strictly to solid gold jewelry for a while. It’s much gentler on the skin, and honestly, once you switch to gold, things should start looking a lot better.
Ear Piercing Advice? in Health ·
stormymaker24 said:I find myself returning to this space with a rather significant predicament, and I would be profoundly grateful if anyone here has navigated a similar ordeal.

Long before my ear became a site of such persistent irritation—roughly five or six years ago—I was able to wear costume jewelry without any undue consequence. However, when I originally had my ears pierced during my previous post on this subject, I awoke the following morning to find my ear twice its normal size and found myself being treated at an emergency room in Chicago. At that time, I simply removed the earring, took a course of penicillin just to be safe, and applied compresses until the inflammation finally subsided.
Because I possess a genuine desire to have pierced ears—as I find earrings quite aesthetically pleasing, for whatever it's worth 😁—I consulted my physician regarding preventative measures to avoid infection during a future piercing attempt. The woman was visibly stunned by the question, clearly perceiving it as medically irrelevant, which frankly left me feeling utterly dismissed.🙄 I suppose it is all quite futile.
Fine then, I decided I would manage the situation independently.
I returned to the same jeweler where the initial piercing occurred, and the staff there advised me against gold, suggesting instead that I opt for gold-plated surgical steel to avoid complications. We developed a theory that the gold itself might have been substandard, though I did test this by moving the earring to my other ear, which showed no reaction, implying the metal composition was likely acceptable. They also recommended a specific antibiotic ointment to use during the initial days of healing.
I proceeded with the piercing around April and purchased Betrion ointment as instructed. To my frustration, the wound refused to heal properly. It only seemed to close when I kept the earring perfectly stationary, but the moment I attempted to switch to a different piece, the area bled profusely, forcing me to abandon the idea entirely. I waited. Eventually, while vacationing on the coast, I managed to insert an earring a few weeks ago, and everything seemed fine. Following that success, I tried wearing costume jewelry on two separate occasions about ten days ago, making sure to disinfect everything, revert to surgical steel, and apply the Betrion.
Yesterday, I accidentally tugged on my ear and realized it was painful. While there was no redness, upon inspecting the back of the lobe, I discovered it had become quite purulent. I removed the earring, cleaned the area, dealt with considerable bleeding, expressed the pus, applied the Betrion, and replaced the earring. Despite these efforts, the infection persists and the pain remains, albeit slightly diminished than yesterday.

Does anyone have experience with this or perhaps a suggestion on how to proceed? I am truly determined to have these piercings, yet I am at a complete loss as to why my body reacts so violently. I even had two additional piercings in that same ear—one in the cartilage and one at the junction leading to the cartilage—and I simply cannot fathom what is happening.🤷

Any assistance?

(My apologies for the verbosity; I felt it necessary to provide a thorough account.)

I’ve been there. I can't say for certain, but you might be allergic to the specific metal used in those tiny posts or hooks on costume jewelry. Personally, I can't touch cheap jewelry at all—not even metal headbands or belts with metal buckles. Your best bet is probably sticking to solid gold or sterling silver. I heard about a trick where you coat the metal part in clear nail polish to create a barrier, but I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure if it actually works. Or, maybe try wearing nothing but high-quality gold for a long stretch until the area is completely healed; that might help prevent future infections.
Differin gel reviews and tips in Health ·
Differin basically strips your skin of all its moisture, which explains why you aren't seeing any oiliness, just like you mentioned. I’ve been using it every single night for quite a while now and haven't run into any major issues, aside from the inevitable little bit of peeling. My secret, though, is that whenever I apply my Differin, I make sure to slather some heavy-duty balm or maybe some calendula ointment around my eyes and lips first. Since the skin in those spots is way thinner and more sensitive, I used to deal with intense dryness, stinging, and redness if I wasn't careful. As long as I stick to that routine, I don't have any problems at all 🙂
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hey ladies, I’ve got a quick question for the group. I’ve been on Yasmin for two months now. After my first pack, my period showed up early on the morning of the 4th. But now that I'm finishing the second pack, it was supposed to arrive this morning, and... nothing. Still waiting. Is this totally normal when you're just starting out, or should I be worried that something is off with me?
