Advice needed. in Health ·
Stop looking at things online. Most people completely misread whatever they stumble upon on the internet, and before you know it, they’ve convinced themselves they have some terminal illness.

For instance, it could just be hemorrhoids...

High protein levels: What's the deal? in Health ·
Exactly how high are we talking? And are you dealing with any pain or burning when you go? Frequent trips to the bathroom for just tiny amounts is a classic sign of a UTI. Also, protein levels can spike because of an infection, but honestly, it could be a dozen other things too. It’s probably best to check in with your doctor, get the labs redone, and figure out a real game plan.
Men, Angela Wright laid it all out perfectly, and as a moderator, I’m standing right behind her on this one.

There are two specific reasons why you’re facing a permanent ban from this Reddit if you keep this up:
1) Legal: any use of Marijuana for recreational purposes is considered illegal here in the States,
2) Medical: there is zero proven benefit to using Marijuana that would outweigh its inherent harms.

End of story.

The fact that you’re spending so much time glued to your computer... well, that’s really where the heart of the issue lies. I used to spend massive amounts of time staring at a screen myself, and I noticed two distinct things: feeling cold all the time and general weakness (I also dealt with some tinnitus, and occasionally dizziness, usually right before bed). Now, what Sarah Johnson11 mentioned regarding the thyroid is a valid point, but remember that the adrenal glands act as the regulator for the thyroid, and those are tied closely to kidney function. I don't know if you ever caught that one episode of CSI Miami involving the gamers, but one of them played for about 48 hours straight and his kidneys just gave out. That’s the connection. Your kidneys can get weakened when you're constantly working without any physical activity to balance it out. You need to cut back on the screen time, or if you absolutely can't, at least break it up with some movement. Your brain actually functions better if you take a walk, relax a bit, and stop hyper-focusing so intensely. Walking, stretching, and stuff like that really helps—provided you’re getting quality sleep (not staying up past 10:30 PM) and staying hydrated (though, honestly, it doesn't have to be a strict eight glasses of water rule). Like you, I don't think we're looking at a tumor here, but trying to diagnose something through internet posts is a losing game... it's basically impossible.

Stay well 👋

No. That’s just wrong. The pituitary gland regulates the thyroid, just like it does for all the other endocrine glands. And the adrenal gland isn't part of the kidney. They are two distinct organs sitting right next to each other, but they don't have any direct structural connection like that.

By the way, CSI Miami is actually a very realistic and educational show. 😁

You aren't going to drop dead because of your kidneys as long as you're drinking water and peeing normally. A person can die from severe exhaustion, dehydration, an epileptic seizure, or plenty of other conditions that hit you regardless of whether you're sitting at a computer or not.

Then what about patients who are bedridden for long periods but have perfectly normal kidney function?

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that sitting in front of a screen for hours on end is healthy. It obviously isn't. I'm just pointing out that some of the things you're claiming are factually incorrect. You also frequently claim that going to bed late is bad for the kidneys. There is zero correlation there. By that logic, every single one of us in our younger years should be dealing with kidney disease, right? The only thing that matters is getting your eight hours of sleep and letting your body rest.

There’s just too much ambiguity here. First they put her through radiation, and then they sent her in for a biopsy??
File a formal complaint with management or even reach out directly to the owner via email or phone, but keep it professional. Since this is a private medical clinic, they won't be able to just brush off that kind of feedback...

Questions about antibiotics in Health ·
Raymond Newman said:I'm taking Klavax because of a throat infection, but there's a catch. I'm heading out this Saturday and there's going to be booze flowing everywhere. How healthy is it to drink alcohol while on antibiotics?
Also, what if I skip my dose that day? If I take them for five days then stop on the sixth, was the whole week just a waste of time?

Mixing alcohol with antibiotics can seriously mess things up. It might aggravate whatever illness you're fighting, crank up the side effects of the medication, or even slow down how well the drugs work... and honestly, some combinations can actually be fatal. Besides, why would you want to pile more stress onto an immune system that's already struggling by dumping "rivers of alcohol" into it? Helou, that's just straight-up masochism.

And don't even think about skipping doses. If you stop early, the infection can come roaring back even worse than before. You risk developing a secondary infection or contributing to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

amberowl27 said:Alright, then what am I actually supposed to do if I want a real baseline for my physical health?
I can't just bounce from doctor to doctor, repeating my whole history every single time. And if I tell them everything is just stress, they’ll probably believe me—which wouldn't surprise me one bit. Honestly, considering what I've been through over the last few years, I'm lucky I'm still sane.

The specific tests you need depend entirely on what symptoms you're actually feeling. It’s entirely possible this is all psychological, but it's easy to just write it off as that, isn't it? Judging by some of your previous posts (like this one), I suspect you might be overthinking things. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm right. My opinion—or anyone else's opinion on this forum—doesn't carry any weight until you've gone through a proper clinical evaluation. Besides, we're starting to drift into off-topic territory here...
northernpanther12 said:You can uncover just about anything with a full blood panel, though I highly doubt you actually ran a truly comprehensive one.😁

No, no, no, no, and absolutely not. Sure, abnormal bloodwork usually points toward an underlying issue, but don't flip the logic on me: clean bloodwork isn't a guarantee that you're healthy!

There’s going to be a lot of trolling and outright insults here.
Look, everyone is entitled to their own level of naivety, but nobody is entitled to use that as an excuse to attack or provoke others.
If you’ve already decided the author is lying or just playing games, then don't bother joining the conversation. There might be some suspicion right now, sure, but there isn't any actual proof.
The same goes for people who can't seem to maintain even a basic level of decency. If your plan was to come in here and start throwing insults, you're wasting your time.

By tomorrow morning, I’m sure we’ll just see more mindless bashing and garbage posts.
What on earth is this... some kind of sudden surge of people pushing for an alternative to PDF?

Listen, I’d appreciate it if we could move this entire discussion over to the other thread.
