Gas bubbles forming within the intestinal wall, which then rupture and trigger both pneumoperitoneum and peritonitis. These bubbles themselves are typically caught by accident on an X-ray. While we don't have a definitive answer on the exact cause, bacteria are often suspected to be the culprit. Complications like perforation and peritonitis aren't common, but let’s be honest—that doesn't make them any less dangerous when they actually happen.
I might be off base here, but the bubbles you're talking about sound a lot like this. It could potentially be a neoplasm, but if that were the case, I don't see why they would lead with antibiotics before the perforation occurred. If it were cancer, you'd be looking at immediate surgery. There's just too much ambiguity here.
My colleague might have a better handle on this, but honestly, after reading your last post, all I can think about is a subserosal cystic pneumatosis that finally decided to perforate.
This thread probably belongs on a different subforum. We’re talking about aesthetics here, not actual medical issues.
Sure, you can get colored contacts, but they don't actually change your eye color. There is no way to physically alter the pigment of your eyes. As long as you're wearing those lenses, people will see whatever color you've picked, and it doesn't matter if your natural eyes are heterochromatic or otherwise.
It’s nothing to panic about. What you're looking at is anterograde post-traumatic amnesia—basically, your brain just isn't locking in new memories right away because of the trauma. If the scans came back clean and the doctors haven't flagged any other neurological issues, there's really no reason to lose sleep over it. You're just in the recovery phase now. The main thing is that you're starting to retain information again...
Adam Wells43 said:Hi everyone, My mother needs to get a carotid Doppler ultrasound and some other scans done. I was wondering if there are any private clinics that accept Medicare, or if anyone knows where she can get on a waiting list to see someone sooner while still using her insurance? At Rib, the wait time is pushing nine months.
This doesn't really fall under cardiac surgery. Moving this to a new thread...
Since we constantly see users starting new threads even when perfectly relevant discussions are already active, we’ve put together this index to help you find your way. This list is a work in progress; we'll be updating and refining it regularly. If you have any feedback or suggestions, just hit up the Health section moderators via private message.
Advice for members: Before you jump into starting a new thread, check if there isn't already a similar discussion here. If nothing shows up, try using the forum search tool. Only once you've exhausted those options should you go ahead and open a new topic.

It’s most likely just temporary tinnitus triggered by acoustic trauma. In the future, you really need to steer clear of stuff like that; once that ringing starts, it can easily become a permanent fixture. For now, let's just hope it settles down within a day or two.
Michelle Perez3, we aren't talking about a pinpointed ache here; this is a systemic issue, which means we can pretty much rule out any speculation about sarcoma. You have to be incredibly careful with these kinds of claims because you can genuinely scare someone half to death over nothing.
As for what’s actually going on, there is no way for us to know from here. Your best bet is to get in touch with your primary care physician and push for some actual testing...
Brenda Cooper3 said:I’m pretty sure one of my 50-point credits is about to expire😬 and I said 'about to' for a reason!!!😍
Well, look at that. It expires in less than 24 hours. Just go ahead and post something mindless. Throw an off-topic comment about health or something just to use it up.😁
Henry Gray14 said:It could be either way, it's not like there's a strict rulebook here.😉
Fine, whatever. I'm no linguist. I remember an English teacher once telling me that was the case, but I also know we live in a country where every author seems to write their own grammar rules and people have endless, heated debates over what sounds more "American." As for making up new words? I won't even dignify that with a response.
Brenda Cooper3 said:I post on political threads too.😢 Ah... The only topics I steer clear of are cars and football.😁 Everything else catches my eye—sometimes just a little, sometimes a lot.😍
And there’s the secret behind my post count... 🤣Maybe you should look into cars a bit more, specifically motorcycles. 😉
As for the bans, do you even realize where you stand with your points? Do you have any idea what losing even a single point would actually mean for you?😁
Tattoo design doesn't belong on this subforum, and from here on out, any posts about it will be deleted. This space is strictly reserved for discussions regarding tattoo removal and any health issues related to them.
Brenda Cooper3 said:Health forums? I don't really post much over there 😕 and when I do, it’s usually not just mindless spam 😁
I honestly wonder where you *aren't* posting. The political subreddits? 😬 If you go charging in like that, you're bound to get flagged eventually. 😛
Brenda Cooper3 said:Regarding the grammar thing? Is that actually how it works? I can't believe I've been walking around with such a massive hole in my knowledge of English rules 😵
Brenda Cooper3 said:It’s "congratulations." Period. If you want to be grammatically correct, use the right term. There isn't much to debate here, but people seem to love overcomplicating simple things. ju'! 😳
🙂
Look, there’s a very specific rule here regarding when you can actually use that particular form. You’re only permitted to use it if it follows an unstressed version of the verb "to be," or if it's preceded by a word ending in that "-je" sound. It’s one of those rigid grammatical nuances that people tend to overlook, but if you want to be technically correct, you have to stick to those two specific conditions.
I'll track down some post on a health forum to attach for you—this guy is an absolute piece of work. 😳
Melissa Castillo said:I've been wondering—why don't those childhood vaccination scars ever really fade away? Every single person I know has these deep pits or several indentations on their arms, and it seems like they just get wider over time. 🤦
What you're looking at are basically keloid scars, which are a standard reaction to the BCG vaccine used for tuberculosis. It’s a localized response. First, you get a blister, then a small nodule forms, and eventually, you're left with a permanent scar that stays with you for life. Honestly, I'd take a mark on my shoulder over contracting TB and dealing with scarred lung tissue any day. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by "deep pits." 😕
Anyway, if someone actually finds them bothersome, there are ways to fix it...
I’ve been dealing with this nagging cold and congestion lately, so I dug through my medicine cabinet and found more than half a box of Pfizer left over from last time. The expiration date on the packaging says 01/10... now I'm wondering, does that mean it's good through the end of January, or what exactly?
Is it safe to just take it, or am I better off heading out to grab a fresh pack?
thanks
To put it bluntly, you can take the medication... 🙂
An expiration date isn't some surgical-grade measurement of efficacy. 😉
Steven Jackson13 said:So, there’s this theory floating around—purely theoretical, mind you—that if both partners happen to have some sort of open sores or cracked lips, and maybe they just share that same unlucky luck, there could be a transmission... though I suppose it’s a bit of a stretch. In this specific case, they had been together for ages, and she was already fully aware that he was living with the CDC... so, what’s your take, Angela Wright? Do you think it’s actually impossible? I’m really hoping you say so...🤷
Yeah, there was one case recorded like that once, but the guy was bleeding heavily from his right side and the woman likely had a mouth wound. Even then, those odds are practically zero...
Yeah, they’re complaining. It isn't even that much imaging since we're just looking at a foot; the radiation dose absorbed is practically negligible. Honestly, I really don't get some people...
