They clearly had the same idea. 😁 + Nightmare Before Christmas... that doesn't even feel like Halloween to me, it's just straight-up Christmas spirit.😍
I'd throw in 'Scrooged' and 'Groundhog Day' with Bill Murray into the mix🙏....Nightmare definitely belongs, 😍 and I’ll humbly admit :blato_perje_izgon: that the last time I found 'Home Alone' actually funny was ages ago...😳 😁
I’ll be honest, I haven't come up with anything that could actually save Roman Polanski here. All I can say is the movie "looks pretty." It’s got that classic Roman Polanski wallpaper vibe, except all the patterns are peeling off the walls. Everything is technically there when you look at it—the acting is fine, the lighting and cinematography are solid—but every single one of those strips of wallpaper is coming loose. And the guy supposed to glue them back together with some sophisticated, old-fashioned narration? That’s Roman himself. He clearly fell asleep on the job, or maybe he wandered off to make the kids tea and just stayed away too long. I actually believe what he said in that interview, and that’s the only reason I still think he’s a major director. Why? Because it was apparently easier for him to turn his life story into a movie than to just sit down and talk about it. Now the kids can just pop in a DVD, and hopefully, Roman can move on to something else. It doesn't have to be absurd; the man has calmed down, but this just feels... off.
steelstag4, this thread is about Tom and Jerry... get used to it. So, you gonna tell me if you see anyone else as cool as him, or are you just gonna be an outcast getting shunned by everyone here? 😁 😁
People are actually asking for your take on this... what does "pleasantly surprised" or "impressive" even mean? It’s just empty fluff. I want to know what someone is actually trying to convey when they say nothing at all. Let me guess, the next response will be something like "I wasn't impressed" or "he was boring." 👍 <---- This one is my favorite; they must teach this stuff in elementary school. "It's great"... then someone else says "it isn't," and we just cycle through that nonsense until the end of time.
steelstag4 said:So, basically, you're useless. 😁 Are you nagging me to buy you a gift or just sending me out on a shopping spree for someone else? 🙂
Stop whining. We all know women love shopping... mostly for themselves, though occasionally for others if they've already finished their own haul. So don't pretend otherwise: JUST BE A WOMAN!!! 😁 😁
steelstag4 said:If only there was 😢 Or if I could just find a stuffed animal with those exact same eyes 😍 I definitely need to track down those three movies somehow; haven't seen them yet 😳
Tell me about it... I'm basically an outcast to certain people because I've never seen or even heard of the others... apparently "everyone" has watched them 😕 😁 ...but seriously, if you find that plushie, let me know. I could use a gift soon :-)
Seriously, did any of you actually read today's review by Jurica Pavičić in the New York Times about The Brothers Grimm? Well, you don't even need to bother, because Jure clearly spent his morning lurking in this thread... I was just waiting for him to mention how fake the forest looked in the movie. 😁😁...Alright, which one of you is Jurica Pavičić? Come on, at least introduce yourself like a normal person... Hey Jure, I'm looking for my 50% cut of your fee for today's article; I'll donate the whole thing back to the development of this forum. 🙂 😁

The translation has a few hiccups, but nothing major. Tom and Jerry 😍 The penguins were pretty great too. 🙂 I went to Broadway. On Wednesdays, tickets for all screenings are $6.75, and there were barely ten people there. Such a waste.
$6.75 ? I guess that's fine... kind of like my typical Monday... it's 16 😁 .... Is there a cartoon just about him? 😁 😁
Something funny just hit me while I was watching... the whole time, I couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't an actual forest, just a movie set. I mean, obviously it is, but still... that little lamb looked way too fake.😁
Amanda Lopez50 said:As for what people think—that’s a whole different story. A lot of folks claim van Sant is way too slow and boring. My circle is pretty split on him; personally, I dig his work. Even though he's labeled as "arty," there’s this incredibly gentle way he handles his themes. I haven't seen Last Days yet, so I won't pretend to know, but I'll say Michael Pitt didn't exactly scream "lead actor" to me right off the bat. 🙂 Well, since Harmony Korine is working with him, I guess I can let it slide. 😉
Well, it depends on which Sant you mean... I know at least three of them. I actually worship the last one, mostly because of the theme he chose for the final film in the trilogy and how he tackled it. Honestly, a few other posts on this thread already prove that point.
Why is the rating such a mess? It’s honestly depressing seeing a director like Gilliam having to deal with this kind of nonsense... I mean, who even puts him in this position? The whole film industry has just gone downhill lately 🙄
Tom and Jerry is a blast 🙏 ....I’ll admit I only went because of the hype, but the movie actually has such good vibes :-) ....and honestly, the direction is more solid than most big studio releases lately 😁
Yeah, so there's that... I watched it and honestly, it’s not as bad as its reception suggests. It’s decent entertainment and definitely wasn't a waste of time. Visually, it hits the spot, but the tone feels a bit lukewarm to me. It doesn't lean hard enough into being sarcastic, funny, childish, or serious—it just kind of sits in the middle. I feel like Terry Gilliam could have picked one of those lanes and really run with it. Those creatures with the fairy tale nods—like Little Red Riding Hood or Hansel and Gretel—were actually pretty impressive. That’s where you see the real horror potential of the concept. It's an okay movie, but it lacks backbone. Hey Gilliam, why the hesitation? Were you just playing it too safe? What happened to you? Come on, newcomer, go ask your buddy 😁😁 .
