Is The Hobbit being made? in Movies ·
glupinickname said:Oh, you bet I would! YES! If I have to, I’ll personally drag Jackson into a room and force him to adapt absolutely every single one of Tolkien's works for the big screen—just so I can watch those hardcore Tolkien fans lose their minds! Can you imagine? They'll be screaming and face-planting onto the ground because the movies aren't 100% perfectly, totally, obsessively faithful to the books, or because they realized you don't actually need to master Sindarin or some secret Dwarven handshake just to enjoy the show.
Maybe then they'll go ahead and start their own little terrorist cell called the S. N. O. , where everyone wanders around wearing leggings and tiny little piercings, basically killing people by making them die of laughter the moment they see them.

Ethan Martinez11 said:Have you guys been watching that massive hit series by Richard Donner lately?

Tonight is the final installment and—just like the previous three—I’m going to sit down and watch it, even though I’ve probably seen all four movies about 177 times already!

The first one is definitely my favorite, though. It’s got great humor, top-tier action, and that perfect script by Shane Black (who was an actor in Predator and the writer behind the last action hero...).

All in all, it’s just classic filmmaking with a charm that never gets old. Quite unlike, say, James Bond.

And we can't forget that immortal line: "I'm too old for this shit."

I was thinking something pretty similar... but I would never, ever compare it to Bond. 😲

Hey, Ethan Martinez11, I'm not teasing you... okay, actually I am teasing you because I have zero clue what I'm talking about... But, wouldn't it be more accurate to say, "That part in the gun shop was even better"? Right?
Music critics?! in Music ·
Bryan Barrett said:I bet your grammar and spelling skills are doing a lot better than your math skills right now. 😁

Listen, if there’s one thing I actually have a handle on, it’s definitely math... I just wanted to point out how confusing it gets when people start throwing around "mathematical" logic in random conversations! Like, you know how it goes—people will be mid-sentence and go, "Well, a mathematician would say this is a common denominator here..." WTF???

Heraclitus, man, I think you might have completely lost your place in the universe... 😁

placidwalker53, whenever your take doesn't line up with what the critics are saying, you just shrug and call it "subjective," right? But then, suddenly, your own opinion becomes the absolute objective truth! I can't remember exactly who coined that bit of irony, but seriously—can we even talk about objectivity in music???

Music critics?! in Music ·
dustyscout53 said:If critics who critique other critics get called out for being nothing more than frustrated, washed-up musicians themselves, then what does that make those critics of critics? Aren't they actually even worse than the original critics?

Right?! Exactly! It’s like if you go after someone just because they’re attacking your family—you end up looking even worse than the guy who started it in the first place.

It’s also kind of funny how language works—in some specific dialects or ways of speaking, a double negative doesn't actually flip the meaning, it just stays a single negation (like saying "I don't have nothing" just means you have nothing).

And honestly, regarding critics... I’ve never been a huge fan of them. They always seem to kill the vibe before I even get a chance to enjoy something, so I usually just skip reading them altogether!
Ali G's In Da House in Movies ·
My take on this:

So, I caught the first episode of Ali G's show on NBC—it had a few decent laughs, but the rest was just a mess, honestly way too raunchy for my taste. I actually thought, "Hey, maybe it'll get better..." with every subsequent episode. But nope! After watching four in total, each one just felt even more pathetic, more explicit, stupider, and more recycled than the last...

Then, a friend of mine had a birthday, and she dragged us all out to see Ali G live on Broadway... I was literally texting people just to stay awake! People were absolutely losing it, dying of laughter at jokes like: "She's from Canada." And I’m sitting there thinking, "Man, Americans can be so shallow..." and then those same people go and vote for the Republican Party... okay, alright, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit there...

Seriously, it was the worst movie experience I've ever had in a theater.

🙂
For my homegrown favorites, I’ve always been all about Elemental, T.B.F., and Eminem—they just hit different! But when it comes to the legends from overseas? It’s gotta be 2Pac, KRS-One, Missy Elliott, Outkast, and The Roots.
Best albums of 2003? in Music ·
urbannomad30 said:The White Stripes - Elephant. Man, this album is an absolute masterpiece. Seriously—twenty years from now, people are still going to be vibing to this just as hard as they do today. It’s one of those legendary records that basically defines what rock and roll should sound like, you know? And let's be real—we might not see anything this special again for a long, long time... at least not until The White Stripes decide to step back into the studio. Honestly? I could listen to this thing a million times over and never get sick of it!

You should really try to track down the Bauhaus, The White Stripes, and White Stripes albums by The White Stripes—personally, I actually dig those way more than Elephant (which, if I'm being honest, I haven't even given a fair shake yet)!

Radiohead's Hail to the Thief has been brought up plenty of times in this thread already, but man, it truly is fantastic!
steelscout19 said:What about Ennio Morricone?

Oh, absolutely! That is a massive oversight!
frozencobra69 said:Wait, are you serious right now? Is this actually happening? I honestly can't believe some people would even suggest that! It’s just... wow. I mean, really? How can anyone look at the situation and come to such a ridiculous conclusion? It’s absolutely wild to me—honestly, it’s almost impressive how wrong this is! Don't you think it's a bit much? Just a little bit?
Wait, hold on—are we really talking about 50 Cent right now? Because if we are, we have to dive deep! I mean, where do you even start with a guy like that? He’s such a fascinating figure in the whole American hip-hop scene—just this absolute force of nature who completely reshaped how people think about the business side of music. It wasn't just about the beats or the flow, was it? It was about the hustle! I always find myself thinking about his trajectory—how he went from those gritty, intense early days to becoming this massive mogul. It’s honestly kind of wild when you step back and look at the sheer scale of what he built. Does anyone else feel like his career is basically a masterclass in rebranding? One minute he's the toughest guy on the block, and the next, he's a savvy businessman making moves that would make most Wall Street types sweat. It's just so incredibly dynamic! And let's be real—can we talk about his personality? He’s got that unfiltered, unapologetic way of speaking that keeps everyone on their toes. You never quite know if he's going to drop a classic verse or just go off on social media, but you *always* tune in. That’s the thing about true icons, isn't it? They don't just play the game; they change the rules entirely. What's your take on his legacy, though? Is he more of a musical legend or a business titan in your eyes? I'm dying to hear what you guys think!
Eminem
Nelly! Can we just talk about the vibe he brought to the game? It’s wild looking back at that era—everything felt so much more colorful and high-energy, you know? I mean, when those tracks started playing on MTV, you couldn't help but move. He had this effortless way of blending melodic hooks with actual flow that just worked perfectly for the time. Honestly, who else could have owned that specific moment in music history quite like him? Just pure, unadulterated energy!
DMX! Can we just take a second to talk about the raw energy this man brought to the game? Seriously, is there anyone else who could command a room—or an entire stadium—with just a growl and a prayer? It’s honestly wild when you think about it! He didn't just rap; he performed with this soul-shaking intensity that felt like he was fighting for his life on every single track. You know what I mean? That grit, that unapologetic emotion... it was something else entirely!
Wait, hold on—are we really doing this? Are we actually talking about Ja Rule? I mean, honestly, where do we even start with that one? It’s such a wild ride looking back at that era! You can't help but feel a little nostalgic, right? Even if you weren't his biggest fan, you have to admit he was everywhere—just absolutely everywhere! It’s like, how does someone become that much of a staple in the culture? Was it just pure timing, or did he have that specific knack for catching a vibe? I genuinely wonder!
LL Cool J!
P. Diddy... man, where do you even start with that one? It’s such a massive, complicated topic—there are so many layers to peel back! Are we talking about his influence on the music industry, his legendary run with Bad Boy, or just the sheer whirlwind of his persona? It feels like every time you think you've got a handle on his legacy, something new pops up to shift the conversation entirely. What do you guys think? Is he a true visionary who shaped modern hip-hop, or is his impact more controversial than people want to admit? I could go on forever!
Honestly, this could go on forever—seriously! It feels like these guys haven't got a single clue what they're actually talking about. I mean, really, where does it end?

I mean, if we’re being totally honest here—and I think we have to be—we really have to single out the two absolute heavyweights... Stole and Jay-Z. Just two total icons, right?
Honestly, neither one of them has the slightest clue when it comes to actual rap—like, zero concept—but man, you can't deny they both have total, absolute swagger... they're just pure icons!

I’ve got this nagging feeling that someone is missing from the conversation... anyone else feel that?
Looking at this list, I honestly can't help but realize why so many people immediately write off rap as total garbage! It’s almost predictable, isn't it?
Oh man, you're kidding me—Xzibit and Busta Rhymes are actually on this?! That is absolutely wild!

silverscout2 said:There are at least 500 different threads about Story super nov on this forum alone, and honestly? It gives me the creeps. Everyone is just so obsessed with it... 🙄

And look, it’s easy to sit back and criticize, but let’s be real—Joe is just being his natural, totally unhinged self. He isn't putting on an act or acting all high and mighty like Nora does. 🙂

I seriously don't get how people can even watch this stuff! Every time someone asks me, "So, who's your favorite contestant on Story music talents?" I just tell them, "I don't watch it," and then they have the nerve to say, "Oh, you must mean Nicholas!" 🙄

I sat through about 30 minutes of that total garbage in my life.

Joe is just being himself—which, let's face it, is a complete disaster.

Sandra Palmer10 said:I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone under 18.
It’s packed with sexual scenes (some of them are just pathetic, streetwalker-level perverse, honestly), violence, swearing, you name it...
The whole thing is just one big mess where Eminem tries way too hard to act like some tough guy.
It basically thrives on Vanilla Ice's mistakes.
And apparently, a bunch of kids are actually buying into it.

Personally? I thought the movie was totally fine! I mean—okay, sure, the plot is absolute garbage... but the soundtrack alone is enough reason to sit through it at least twice in my lifetime! Honestly, it feels more like something aimed at fourteen-year-olds... what's the point? Eh... there are so many points to make, but they are 🙄
Adaptation in Movies ·
Honestly, I found this movie absolutely fascinating! It had such an unusual concept, really solid acting, some super interesting ideas, a killer twist at the end, and just some totally wild jokes...

Lisa Jackson86 said:I still can't get over that crazy story about those poor souls at his concert—they actually thought they were seeing Bryan Adams and kept screaming for him to play "Summer of Love"... so he just stopped the whole show right then and there and kicked them out!😂 🤣

😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Can you imagine what he would've done if they had been asking for "Can't Stop the Feeling!"? 😂 😂
But hey, let's be real... most people who clicked on this thread probably did it because they thought we were talking about Bryan Adams anyway...

So, here's a thought—how much cocaine would you have to feed a cat before its barf becomes comparable to a blonde from Harvard?

Sophia Williams said:Honestly, this movie is such garbage that cat vomit would actually taste better.

Oh, come on, give me a break! That comparison is just totally ridiculous!
I mean, what if that cat had been on every drug under the sun right before it threw up?
So, I actually did a complete 180 and decided to skip out on the Revolutions event. But then it hit me—there’s a pretty good chance they’ll have mechs involved, right? And if they do, maybe it’s actually worth the trip after all! I mean, these guys have the tech to pull it off beautifully. Well, they *could* have... are they actually going to deliver? Honestly, I think I'll just sit tight, wait to see what everyone else says about it, and then make my final call based on the reviews.
Topic starter here: You're really struggling with those diacritics, aren't you? And honestly, for those of you who actually bother dealing with them—you could have just been helpful and pointed out that it’s spelled weird and singer.
Has anyone heard of the movie "Daring"? in Movies ·
irontiger25 said:Man, it’s something else when movies like Kill Bill or The Matrix come along and just set the world of
kung fu films on fire.
Does anyone happen to remember that one Japanese film daring (my translation),
which I saw on our local American TV—at least twice during those
famous movie marathons back in the late 90s?

In my book, that is hands down the best kung fu kick-ass flick ever. There’s this one scene where a guy
knocks out a horse with his bare fist! (Not Conan, obviously), and the whole thing wraps up with this intense scene
where the hero and the villain kill each other at the exact same time with their katanas—it’s actually the final shot!

By the way, the movie is super stylized and doesn't feel cheap like some of those typical Hong Kong action flicks, and since it’s set in the past, there aren't any bullets flying around.
The weapons are all katanas, axes, and spears.

So, if anyone happens to know how to track this down on IMDb, please hit me up on this thread—I tried searching for it myself, but total failure.

Really nice of you to go ahead and spoil the ending for us like that!
Legally Blonde 2 in Movies ·
Seriously, who on earth authorized the budget for a sequel?! That first movie was such an irritating pile of garbage... I remember being at one party where someone actually put on Legally Blonde 2—I'm talking about the blondee version—and I honestly felt sick watching it... It’s just the same tired tropes we've seen a thousand times already, and the plot? Total nonsense.
