I actually wrote this a little while ago and for some reason never hit publish: Man, fffrend Lovro makes music that, honestly, the first time I heard it, I just wasn't feeling it at all—but now that I've given it a second listen, it's actually sounding pretty decent! 😲 Though, don't take my word for it—I mean, I almost never actually enjoy listening to My bloody Valentine, even though I pretend they're amazing all the time! 😳 On the flip side, I absolutely cannot stand that band with the similar name, Bullet for My Valentine... I swear, I'd love to go over there and give them a good old-fashioned stomp! You guys can join me if you want!

Honestly, whenever a massive topic starts heating up, the whole thread just becomes an absolute mess—just a mountain of insults and off-topic rambling flying back and forth from both sides! I try my best to report things when they get out of hand, and it feels like the mods do step in eventually, but it often seems like it happens a bit too late, especially given how intense things can get 🤷 .
Honestly, I find it totally ridiculous when people claim The Flaming Lips are just some visual spectacle and not actually a musical act—I mean, really? They’ve put out five or six absolutely stellar albums that earned massive respect from everyone, from the big critics to the hardcore indie crowd, including last year's Embryonic and what I honestly think are some of the best neo-psychedelic records ever made! 🙏 Sure, Wayne doesn't have the most incredible voice, but man, their musicianship is top-tier—especially when they play tracks like The Leaves or those massive hits like Do You Realize??, not to mention the endless replayability of Powerless ♥
And another thing—with all that crazy, euphoric energy floating around in the air at a festival, there's simply no way you can catch every single note they play! 😳

Here’s my best guess at the crowds: night one felt like maybe 6,000 people, but night two? Easily over 10,000! It honestly feels like everyone just spread out more this year—especially toward that third stage compared to last time.
For me, that third night was hands down the best Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival experience I've ever had! And you know, someone made a great point earlier—it’s actually a huge flex when you can chat enthusiastically about such a massive lineup (The Flaming Lips, Massive Attack, Caribou, Flogging Molly, Skindred, National Youth Poetry Contest). That kind of variety really shows how much this festival has leveled up, don't you think?
If they hadn't swapped out Caribou for !!!, I would've been absolutely loving the first night too... but let's be real, it was only ♥ Murphy ♥ who truly saved the day for me..
Check this out—here's a clip of LCD Soundsystem! The audio quality is pretty rough, I know, but you can really see what the vibe was like—it wasn't "slow" or "boring" at all, it was actually awesome 🙂 And hey, you can even spot Dina in the shot!

Broken Social Scene was lovely—a little quiet for my taste, unfortunately—but KC Accidental is hands down the best song ever written. 😍 They were playing somewhere in there and the crowd absolutely loved them, though it was almost time to wrap things up. 😢 And get this—Wayne spent a huge chunk of the set just hanging out on the side of the stage! ♥
Caribou was incredible. I caught them right after Odesse, and man, everything I managed to hear sounded freaking amazing. It’s such a shame they’re already playing in Belgrade today; honestly, if they were here tomorrow, I might have even made the trip... but whatever, I just really hope they bring them back to us again soon..
And then, the magical Flaming Lips! 🙏 Now, let me be clear—their music is absolutely fantastic!! But I haven't always been able to fully experience all the crazy stuff they do because of all their wild antics—though those antics are beautiful! We're talking millions of pieces of confetti, balloons, and confetti inside balloons everywhere! 😁 The disco balls weren't quite as big as the ones LCD Soundsystem uses 😬, but there were two of them, and Wayne was standing there pointing massive lasers right at them! 😲 The crowd got a little too loud at times, but hey, it was fine—we were all vibing, screaming Yeah Yeah Yeahs about seven hundred times, going absolutely feral during I Can Be a Frog, and singing along to Yoshimi like crazy! 😍 They played for about an hour and a half. Sadly, there wasn't a big encore, but they closed things out with Do You Realize?? ♥ ♫♪♫♪♪♪♫♫♫♫♫♫♫ ♥ amidst a literal explosion of confetti and streamers from every corner of the world! ♥
Massive Attack felt like the perfect vibe to close out a night like this—talk about hitting the target! At least, that's what I thought, but then this wave of paranoia hit. I think the people around me were feeling it too during the set... the setlist was kind of weird, and it felt like some hits like Unfinished Sympathy were missing—edit: OR WAIT, THEY WEREN'T!! 🤦, But, to make up for it, they translated almost all the signs into American and used some local news headlines; the crowd had a hilarious reaction to Dikan 😂. It felt a little out of place during Inertia Creeps, but oh well, it is what it is. Deborah Miller only sang Safe from Harm, unfortunately.
After grabbing some kebabs, we hit up a silent disco. It’s such a cool concept, and it was a fun way to wind down, though most of the music was total garbage—mostly just Italo disco and some electronic nonsense, with maybe a couple of exceptions like a few tracks from The Prodigy.. Plus, a nice early morning stroll along the riverbank .
Oh, I should mention the sound at the main stage was actually great, with one glaring exception: the vocals were way too quiet. :/ Otherwise, the organization has been the best yet..
