I'd probably just toss together a regulator using an LM317 and a couple of resistors... Easy enough. Just make sure you slap a decent heatsink on that LM317.
You don't really need a GPU... Almost any PC will fire up without one, but it’ll probably just hang on the POST. Though, I guess some might actually boot up just fine.
could easily handle THREE of your rigs at once, and it's super quiet too.
If you're really dead set on getting something new, Number
The cheaper LC Power ones are totally fine.
Honestly, you might end up throwing money away a few different times. First, by buying an overpriced PSU that doesn't actually solve anything. Second, if it turns out the issue isn't even the power supply (which happens more than you'd think!). And third, spending cash on a UPS when you should've just hired an electrician who'll probably tell you your house grounding is a mess.
So—just find someone who can lend you a decent PSU to test with, or take your rig over to a shop to see what actually needs replacing.
Anyone here actually messed around with the Coolermaster 420 w that comes with the elita 335? I'm looking to run a newer dual-core setup, some integrated graphics, and two drives. Should be enough juice to handle maybe a 100W load, right? 😬Main thing is, I don't want it being super noisy.
Charles Bailey45 said:What we’re really trying to get across is that any decent mountain bike up to $833 is gonna be more than enough for hitting the trails at Central Park, cruising the local embankments near Chicago, or whatever else. It’s not like we’re talking about some top-tier, pro-level gear, but if you take care of it? Yeah, it’ll last you years.
I mean, imagine if we actually had to sit people down and explain that you don't need a high-end racing rig just to ride around Central Park or the city outskirts... 😁
Yeah, I get it, heading south isn't really your vibe. But Leo is hanging out over in the Spanish district and he’s got that trail right by the Ljubljana path just waiting for him...
Anyway, he should just give it a shot and see which one he actually digs more.
Richard Lewis16 said:honestly, I ride right down the middle of the tracks all the time (it's just the fastest way, okay?) just like a bunch of other people I see out there, and so far, zero issues same thing on the main drags where I bike often too (not every single day though)
I used to ride like that to high school, but man, I just don't have the energy for it anymore. You're constantly looking over your shoulder to see if a streetcar is gonna clip you, or you're playing slalom through crowds in pedestrian zones. Then you're dodging people where they aren't even supposed to be walking, or just waiting to see who's actually going to check their blind spot before pulling right—or just trying to squeeze through a gap when you're riding in the street. It's nonstop stoplights and constant traffic... total headache. On the flip side, once you hit those wide boulevards like Broadway or Sunset, you can pretty much just cruise at 25-30 mph with half your brain turned off, without hitting a red light every two blocks.
Sure, it's easier on the law, but honestly? It’s way more stressful and just drags things out. I wouldn't bother if I didn't have to.
You could maybe jog about half a mile if you cut down Broadway toward Vicksburg and hit Brooklyn off Madison (maybe 300m of crappy gravel!), but that's pretty much it.
You're totally missing the main point here. With an LCD, the pixels don't actually turn OFF like they did on those old CRT monitors, so you aren't getting that flicker that really drains your eyes. Honestly, your eyes are gonna get tired regardless if you're staring at an LCD with a refresh rate of 1, 60, or 1500Hz.
Patrick King7 said:So, I actually went ahead and got my bike's serial number registered with the local police department. Just being smart about it, you know? Better safe than sorry if things ever go sideways. ☕
Can I get some more details on this? 🙂
So, I don't actually have an account set up, but I've got the serial number memorized. Is that gonna be a problem? Like, if there's no account to point to, how am I even supposed to prove it's mine?
Everything hits you at once... Honestly, it’s not even an issue if you're just cruising out on a highway embankment or something, but try doing that in the middle of heavy city traffic. It's a whole different story.
