The opening really gives off major > vibes, but then they just pivot straight into an emotional deep dive about who hurt whom. 🤦

Personally, I think she’s absolutely stunning—well, that’s just my take, anyway🤣—so I’m really rooting for her to live up to the role.

As for all the noise regarding her skin tone... honestly, there will always be critics. The second someone who isn't white, cisgender, or heterosexual enters the frame, you hear the usual: ''HoLlYwOoD iS oNlY fOrCe-fItTiNg bLaCk pErSoNs, gAyS, aNd MuSlImS.'' It’s just inevitable at this point. Especially considering Disney produced 47 films between 1937 and 2009 before finally giving us our first Black princess, Tiana. Besides, Ariel is a mermaid princess—not some royal from medieval Europe—so there's really no reason she *has* to be white to fit the setting. She could be any skin tone; she's a mythical creature, after all, and the interpretation is ultimately up to the director.

I don't have a solid opinion yet—I'm holding out for the trailer. You can have a perfect cast and end up with a mediocre movie, or vice versa—sometimes those unknown actors just steal the show in a masterpiece.

It would have been incredible if they had cast a drag queen as Ursula, especially since the original animated version was inspired by drag queens!

Even Black people are saying they aren't impressed; if anything, they're against it.

Leslie Jones says Ghostbusters 3 is 'something Trump would do'
The actress suggested that ignoring the remake feels like something Donald Trump would pull off.

"So insulting. It's like we don't even matter," Jones wrote in a Twitter post Saturday evening while tagging her co-star Melissa McCarthy, Columbia Pictures and Paul Feig. "It’s like something Trump would do. (Trump voice) 'Gonna redo Ghostbusters, better with men, it'll be huge. Those women aren't Ghostbusters.' Ugh, so annoying. Such a dick move. And I don't care, I'm saying it!!"

Jameela Jamil, actress: "Our goal this year is to double the number of women and people from minority backgrounds across the entire entertainment industry—and honestly, across all sectors too. That’s why we have to keep pushing this conversation forward"

Just watched this movie for the first time. It’s actually great, especially with Lindsay Lohan in it. One of the standout scenes has to be that gym teacher with the Vietnamese woman.🤣

Fun movie. It actually reminded me a bit of Indiana Jones.
What a bizarre movie. The first half is actually watchable, but once they head out on that boat and the skeleton fights start, it just turns ridiculous. It feels like someone set out to make a joke movie where nothing makes any sense.
Has anyone actually read the books? I’m wondering if there’s any substance there, or if it’s better left to the page.
It looks like Samuel L. Jackson treated this whole thing as a massive joke; you can tell he isn't exactly giving it his all.

There really isn't any character development either. The absolute highlight of the movie is just seeing Emma Watson wrapped around a pole.

My experience has been the complete opposite... It’s wild how kids and parents can be so different, almost like they aren't even cut from the same cloth.😂
