Come on, guys—we can't have Robert De Niro and Al Pacino carrying every single movie. Tarantino is busy, probably at some party in Iceland or something. I honestly thought there were actual cinephiles in here, but it’s just a bunch of Hollywood A-listers. This flick is incredible—even though it's an Estonian film, it blows 95% of the mainstream movies we all know out of the water. You guys really let me down. Go watch the movie already; I'll be hanging out here. Just go, just go!
Need some help with torrenting... in Software ·
Man, you're stressing over something way too simple—why even bother with all that headache?

If you don't have uTorrent yet, just grab it and get it installed. Look, whenever you're pulling a file from a tracker—doesn't matter if it's a public one or a private one—just leave that file right where you saved it. Don't delete it from uTorrent. That's the whole trick. You're constantly seeding as long as someone else is grabbing it from you (as long as uTorrent is running, obviously). Even if you've only got a few percent of the file, you're still contributing. All you really have to do is not delete or move the file from your computer or out of the client. To keep a decent Ratio, aim for at least 1/1—meaning if you download 1 GB, you give 1 GB back. (Your total upload stats are all sitting there in uTorrent along with everything else)

Man, after my first watch of Shawshank, I was dying for a sequel—could’ve been some hilarious setup, like the two of them opening a rental car agency or something. Throw Jim Carrey into the mix and you’ve got an absolute smash hit.

The Breakfast Club ( 2007 )

After wading through mountains of Hollywood trash, this Estonian student film actually treats you like an intelligent human being—no ridiculous plot twists, no messy resolutions, and zero attempts by the director to fry your brain. It’s just simple, raw, and totally real. Honestly, this stuff happens all the time—more than once, actually, sometimes even worse. The story follows a group of pretty average-looking Estonian students (well, except for one girl) navigating their everyday social chaos (just watch the movie to see how it plays out)

Turns out, Estonians actually know how to make a movie. 👍
How to move past old scars and baggage in Health ·
If you're dealing with skin issues, just go see a dermatologist—they handle scar removal all the time using microdermabrasion, lasers, or even mechanical methods. They basically peel back the top layer of skin, which isn't even painful, and once the new skin grows back, the scar is pretty much gone.

I haven't personally gone through this myself, but someone else on here probably has—so check with them if you want the real specifics.

Seriously, hit up a dermatologist and you'll get it sorted out.
James Rogers53 said:wiredtiger10, just keep going with that "diet" of yours—you'll get there eventually... I know it's tough for you...
I'm not looking to argue with idiots—first they drag you down to their level, then they finish you off with their "expertise"!

What diet? What success? Me, being "tough"? Me, being an idiot?

WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT? This thread is about some guy recommending drinking water before breakfast—all your made-up nonsense has been debunked as garbage a million times already. Do yourself a favor and just stop typing so much.
James Rogers53 said:Look, you’re slowly changing your tune... you haven't actually said you eat breakfast anywhere, just that you drink water and feel less hungry later for lunch. And you used to claim this was how you lose weight—now you aren't even saying that anymore, or am I seeing things?
I never said water itself was the issue—my point was about the idea that drinking water right after waking up and taking care of your morning business (gross, by the way) is some magic weight loss trick.

No, I'm not changing my mind—you're just putting words in my mouth. I never said I eat breakfast*—so don't go jumping to conclusions for me. I did say that after knocking back two cases of water, I feel less hungry for breakfast and lunch. Stop making stuff up and speaking for other people. You're claiming I said you could lose weight this way? The thread starter said that, not me—though I agree with him, but not for the stupid reasons you're rambling about. Water isn't going to "melt fat," but starting the day this way is definitely smarter than eating donuts and smoking cigarettes. And honestly, why are you so obsessed with all this talk about morning hygiene and "business"? The OP said the first thing you should do is drink water before brushing your teeth or hitting the bathroom—you're the one who added that weirdly specific detail about the "mess." Is that really what you think he meant literally? Or is it just a simple way to tell people to hydrate first thing? I have zero issue with that, but you're acting like it's some massive, unsolvable crisis.

And again—after all that typing, you still haven't answered any questions or offered a single better suggestion. So what's better than drinking water before breakfast then? Come on, share it with us. People have been waking up and heading to a stream or a river for water for thousands of years, and here you are in 2024 trying to convince all us water-drinkers we're wrong. Where is this "alternative" method or your big suggestion? People like you have an issue with everything—criticizing everything, nothing is ever good enough, but you never actually offer a solution or a way forward. You just want to talk trash.

STOP MAKING STUFF UP AND SPEAKING FOR OTHER PEOPLE!

P.S.

DRINK A GLASS OF WATER.
James Rogers53 said:since when was that even a thing? 😕 and do the Chinese do it?

I KNOW ABOUT THE JAPANESE PERSON—IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE CHINESE, JUST GOOGLE IT.

I definitely wouldn't recommend it, but I'm pretty sure you just ate breakfast and now you're feeling like you gotta lose weight... if I wanted to slim down, I’d grab a massive bowl of oatmeal or some whole grain toast with milk in the morning. Why? Because you're smart—get it. Or you don't agree with me?

NOPE, I DON'T AGREE WITH A SINGLE WORD YOU'RE WRITING. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SAID ANYTHING YET OTHER THAN BEING AGAINST DRINKING WATER.

The body needs nutrients after 8 hours of sleep because it's been 8 hours without them... if you skip that, you're just screwing up your metabolism and you'll definitely pack on weight at lunch and dinner, which leads to gaining fat.

AND WHO TOLD YOU I'M SKIPPING ANYTHING? I STARTED THE MORNING WATER THING YESTERDAY, AND JUST LIKE ALWAYS, I EAT CORN FLAKES OR MUESLI WITH MILK FOR BREAKFAST.

🙏🙏😂 keep going with that crap...

YEAH, OF COURSE I'M STILL GONNA DRINK WATER.

You're the first person I've met who sees a problem with drinking water—honestly, any other topic would probably get the same treatment from you.

I don't get what part isn't clicking for you. I wake up, knock back two glasses of water, and then eat breakfast—usually corn flakes or muesli with milk.

So, even in this perfect start to the day, you're finding an issue. Not sure if you even realize that about 2/3 of the human body is water, and people dehydrate overnight just through normal bodily functions and sweating.

So what could be healthier or smarter than drinking water after 8 hours of sleep?

Answer me that.

I lasted 15 minutes—total crap.
James Rogers53 said:Come on, think about it! Does it actually make sense that you'll lose weight just by drinking a glass of water when you wake up? You'd have to be an absolute idiot to believe that...
Look, it’s true you need to drink 2 liters of water a day just to keep your body running—that's basic stuff—but thinking that having 70 pounds of fat on you will just melt away because you had a few ounces of water in the morning is honestly pathetic logic.
It’s pretty obvious that the people hyping up this "weight loss method" don't have a clue how the human body works, let alone any basic info on how to actually burn fat.

@placidfox55/">@@placidfox55

So you think skipping breakfast entirely is the way to go if you want to slim down?

Look, man, don't overcomplicate something so simple. It’s common knowledge that Japanese people often drink a couple glasses of water right when they wake up—not to drop 70 pounds overnight, but because it’s just the most logical thing to do first thing in the morning. Go ahead, give me your "genius" suggestion for what someone should eat or drink at dawn—I bet your answer would be COFFEE, A DONUT, AND A CIGARETTE. Seriously, use some logic—your body has gone 8 hours without any hydration, so wouldn't it be smart to give it some water after being dry for 8 hours? Nobody is claiming it's a magic cure for losing 70 pounds; we're talking about starting the day right, which naturally ends up helping with weight. I had two glasses this morning and, I swear, I wasn't even as hungry, so I ate less for breakfast and lunch—probably because I started my day with one simple, logical step: drinking water.
James Rogers53 said:You know what? Just keep drinking water first thing in the morning for a few more years and maybe you’ll drop 10 pounds.😲
What if I brush my teeth or grab a coffee first—does the magic stop working? So basically, as long as I haven't even moved yet, I just chug two or three glasses of water?

I mean, seriously, what kind of nonsense is this... you lose weight healthily through actual diet and exercise, not some pseudo-science tea, drinking water the second you wake up, or some miracle supplement!

What an idiot. I mean, how can anyone argue that drinking water after eight hours of sleep isn't the most natural, logical thing ever? I haven't run into a moron like this in ages. Go to bed.
Respect. I’m starting tomorrow—I’ve heard and read about this enough times to know it actually works. It just makes sense that after being without water for 7 or 8 hours, you'd grab some H2O first, but most people just dive straight into food instead.

Do you eat breakfast? If you do, what does a "normal" breakfast look like for you?

I used to just grab whatever—one day it’d be deli meat and cheese, the next maybe some Nutella—but then I caught this nutritionist on TV talking about how the brain actually craves sugar. He was saying the best way to start the day is some grains paired with something sweet. The logic was that it's basically hardwired into our DNA—thousands of years ago, people couldn't exactly keep meat or anything perishable fresh overnight, so they relied on grains and fruit in the morning. I wanted to see if there was any truth to that, and man, the difference is huge. It’s just better in every single way—and since I don't touch coffee or anything else loaded with sugar, adding a spoonful of honey in the morning isn't even much, especially since my cornflakes have zero added sugar. I'm super happy with this routine and there is zero chance I'm changing it back. ☕

placidfox55 :

Abdominal fat hits different than fat anywhere else on your body. You gotta get rid of it—mainly through cardio and fixing up what you eat.

wiredtiger10 :

Just go play soccer or some other sport, man. Don't listen to those idiots acting like you need a medical degree just to go for a run. Get outside into the fresh air. Every night, knock out 50-100 crunches—actually, maybe just do 50 every other day. And like amis said, if you’re doing crunches, you gotta work your back too. That's it. Your body is gonna develop naturally until you're 25; you'll just keep getting stronger every year. Don't even stress about it.

wiredtiger10 :

I forgot—if you want something easy to do at home, look up those DVD Tae-bo workouts with Billy Blanks. You can find them online easily. It's probably your best bet since there's no heavy weights involved—just fast, high-energy full-body moves. It'll help you develop properly. Give it a shot.

blondy-ri :

Look, you're only 13. I highly doubt you have any real issues to deal with. Like everyone else said—go play soccer, ride your bike, drink tons of water, and just stay active. Maybe throw in some crunches or something to toughen up, but I don't think you have enough fat to justify running for half an hour every single morning before doing abs. Your body is still growing; don't mess with it by going on diets or stressing over every inch of belly fat. You've got years before you're fully developed, and you'll likely hit a growth spurt soon—I know guys who were tiny and then suddenly shot up around 14 or 15. Just relax.

amis :

Regarding him being 13—look, people can be born with heart defects without even knowing it, so getting a checkup from a doctor isn't a bad idea.

wiredtiger10

Start a sport. It's hands down the healthiest and best way to build yourself up, plus you learn actual skills—like how to play soccer or basketball. You don't want to be one of those meatheads who spends all day lifting weights only to look clumsy because they have zero coordination. They lift heavy stuff like idiots and then stumble around. You gotta move. Ideally, get outside. Swimming is actually the best way for a young person to build their physique. Once you build up your shoulders and back, that little bit of extra fat won't even show because of your proportions.

As for eating

Eat cereal or something sweet in the morning—toast with jam or cornflakes with honey. Your brain needs that sugar hit in the AM to function right. Never eat cheese, deli meats, or that kind of stuff first thing in the morning.

Lunch should be a normal meal with plenty of veggies. Skip the salt and heavy seasonings, and avoid greasy food—like, eat boiled potatoes instead of fried ones.

For dinner, stick to fruit, or if you're actually hungry, have fish or meat with vegetables (like tuna with tomatoes). Never eat sweets at night—it'll kill your focus—and steer clear of things like potatoes, heavy bread, or eggs.

wiredtiger10 :

If you run every day, you'll see results in two weeks max. But you don't have to do it daily; every other day is fine. On the off days, do crunches, pushups, squats, and stuff like that, but don't overdo it. Just do 25 or 50 reps every other day. Warm up for 10-15 minutes first, and that's basically your workout done.

wiredtiger10 :

Stretching isn't just for runners or athletes—it's for you, every single day. Having a flexible body is a massive advantage, especially as you get older. If you aren't sure which moves to do, honestly, just sign up for a sport where someone can actually teach you the right way.

placidfox55

Aerobic exercises
Veggies with every meal.
Lean proteins (chicken, fish, dairy)
Whole grains

placidfox55

You gotta reorganize your lifestyle a bit—you’ve already made huge progress cutting out the chocolate and soda, so stick with that. Add some moderate physical activity and you'll see results way faster than you expect. Just make sure you're getting enough walking in (or running if that's your thing...). You definitely need to overhaul your eating habits too. Stick to three main meals a day plus two snacks.

There's no point obsessing over when the fat starts melting or counting every single calorie you burn versus what you eat. It's all about learning how to live a balanced life—once you nail that, everything else just falls into place. Period.

Since you're thirteen, it would be a good idea to talk all this over with your mom, or if not her, maybe even your family doctor.

Good luck!

Here’s a roundup of the best stuff from this thread (I cleaned some of it up so it actually makes sense)

Eat healthy and stay active. I'm still standing by my advice: pick up a sport where you can develop your body properly and learn things you don't know yet—stuff that'll serve you for the rest of your life.

If you take any of this advice to heart, you won't fail.

First off, just to be clear—any of my other posts where I’m calling out some idiot have zero to do with this thread or anyone here. I've been on other forums where people have some seriously twisted views on fitness and life, so I'm sure nobody here feels targeted or insulted by my venting.

If we're following your logic, maybe he just doesn't want to talk because he's got beef with his PE teacher. You guys basically just gave him the runaround through bureaucracy, whereas me—and honestly, whoever else here agrees—gave actual, solid advice regarding the belly fat issue (which isn't even a real problem for a 13-year-old; he's growing, it's totally normal—that's why the advice was to pick up a sport that develops his whole body properly instead of just obsessing over one thing).

Regarding my take on sit-ups: when I was 9—not 13, mind you—I was training three times a week doing over 100 sit-ups, 200 squats, knuckle push-ups, lunges, circuit training—like 4 or 5 moves in a row, squat-pushup-jump-kick combos, stuff like that. And that was for an hour and a half. Your opinion that 50 or 100 sit-ups is "too much" for a 13-year-old just shows you've probably never even done 50 in your life. For a healthy 13-year-old, 50 or 100 sit-ups is just enough to break a sweat.

Should he get a check-up? YES. But not as some strict requirement, just as common sense—which I'm sure someone actually looking for advice would have. A doctor can only help; people die every single day from heart issues they didn't even know they had, and those things can be managed if you catch them early. Just not in the way some people suggested here. If we teach kids like that, they'll end up just like those Americans who won't even know how to walk or breathe without a consultant and a support group holding their hand.

Jacob Baker23, just take what works from everything we've said here and you'll see results.

Jacob Baker23 said:so what am I actually supposed to be doing for a warm-up before I hit the pavement??

Look, I’ve done Tae Kwon Do, basketball, handball—basically grabbed bits and pieces from every sport I touched. If you've ever trained seriously, you already know the basic stretches. And honestly? Stretching isn't just for runners or specific athletes—it's for you, every single day. Having a flexible body is a massive advantage, especially as you get older. If you don't know the moves, your best bet is to join a local club or a gym where they'll teach you properly, but I can try to break it down for you here:

Start from the top—

Head-neck: 1. circular motions, left then right, 10 times
2. head turns, left then right
3. front and back
4. tilts to the left and right

Shoulders: do some butterfly strokes—swing your arms forward and back 10-15 times

Hips: 1. circular motions, left then right, 10-15 reps
2. torso twists, left then right

Back: 1. legs straight, bend down as far as you can and touch your toes with your fingers
2. wide stance, bend down to the left and then the right

Legs: stretch those knees, throw in some squats, or just jog in place

I don't know how much sense this makes reading it on a screen—it's hard to explain perfectly—but seriously, just sign up for a sport. If you aren't into team stuff, go for martial arts or an individual sport. You're 13—if you actually get serious about training now, you could really make something of yourself in that sport.

That's the basics for any sport. Do it every day. You won't have back issues later on, and you'll be way less likely to snap something if you get injured.

Jacob Baker23 said:So I’ve been hitting the pavement every single night—four days in now—and absolutely nothing is happening! I already cut out the white bread, soda, and chocolate, plus I went for a checkup the other day and they mentioned some heart arrhythmia thing... honestly, no clue what that even means. How long am I gonna have to run before this fat actually starts melting off?

Chill out, man. It's only been four days—why the rush? You've already made huge moves with your diet—especially cutting out the soda. Honestly, any processed crap is bad for you and causes weight gain, but sodas are hands down the worst.

An arrhythmia just means your heart rhythm is irregular—probably just something temporary, but you really need to listen to your doctors. If they tell you to get more tests done, just go do them.
It’s likely nothing serious, though—you're a teenager, your body is still changing, and little irregularities happen at that age.

If you're running every day, you should see some progress in two weeks max. But look, you don't need to run daily—every other day is plenty. On the off days, just throw in some sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and stuff like that—nothing crazy. Just do maybe 25 or 50 reps of sit-ups or squats every other day after a 10-15 minute warm-up, and that counts as a workout.

The professor is gonna tell you the exact same thing I did—get into a sport. It’s hands down the healthiest way to train and build yourself up. Plus, you actually learn a skill. You gotta learn how to play soccer or basketball or something. You don't want to be one of those meatheads who just spends all day lifting weights—those guys are a joke. You push one of them and they practically collapse because they have zero motor skills. They lift heavy like idiots but can't move an inch. You need to be active, preferably outside in the fresh air. Swimming is the absolute best way for a younger guy to shape his body—build those shoulders and that back... okay, maybe a little joke there, but if you get the proportions right, you'll look solid.

As far as diet goes,

Always hit the cereal or something sweet in the morning—think toast with jam or cornflakes with honey. Your brain needs that sugar hit early on to actually function. Whatever you do, don't touch cheese, deli meats, or that junk first thing in the morning.

Lunch should be a standard meal packed with veggies. Avoid salt, heavy spices, and greasy food—like, eat boiled potatoes instead of fried ones.

For dinner, stick to fruit, or if you're actually hungry, go for fish or meat with veggies (like tuna with tomatoes). And seriously, never eat sweets at night—it'll just wake your brain up when it's trying to shut down—and stay away from stuff like potatoes, tons of bread, or eggs.
