Professor John Doe's Hat (2012) in Movies ·
image

Based on that legendary novel by Jane Doe, this film follows the life of the incredible Professor John Doe—a kind-hearted eccentric, a total hedonist, and a one-of-a-kind educator. His former student, Mihailo Petrović-Alas, once described him as the most original professor of the 19th century. It’s also a story about an extraordinary group of seniors at Stuyvesant High School, including Mihailo Petrović-Alas, Jovan Cvijić, Pavle Popović, Jaša Prodanović, Milorad Mitrović, Milutin K. Dragutinović, Ljubomir Stojanović, and several others. These kids grew up to become the literal faces of an era—academics, professors, cabinet members, politicians, and other major figures. They were a class for the ages, truly unparalleled... a class that defines history itself. Bursting with that unstoppable youthful energy, they stepped into adulthood with a stride that basically defies time.

Cast:
Brad Pitt, Ljubomir Bulajić, Aleksandar Radojičić, Mateja Popović, Uroš Jakovljević, Nikola Ranđelović, Davor Perunović, Mladen Sovilj, Branimir Brstina, Predrag Ejdus, Dragan Jovanović, Zoran Cvijanović, George Clooney, Vojin Ćetković, and Aleksandar Berček playing Professor John Doe.

Directed by: Zdravko Šotra

Adam King said:I have a feeling that Warner Bros. is going to be packing a lot of sex appeal and heavy themes... which honestly makes it sound pretty interesting to me... 😁

🤣

I can't believe they're actually going to show anything... seriously...

Honestly, Americans really ought to give this film a chance... 😁

Adam King said:I honestly can't stand this kind of mindless drama... but from what I can gather, we're talking about a womanizer here? And is he that guy who was in that tacky movie about those wannabe vampires?

😁 Yeah, that's the one.

I actually dig period dramas, so I'm totally down to sit through whatever Robert Pattinson is doing... plus, I've always been a fan of Christina Ricci.

Didn't get around to reading the book, unfortunately...😢

A film based on the novel F. Scott Fitzgerald:

Jay Gatsby navigates the streets of New York City at the tail end of the 19th century, drifting from cockroach-infested tenements straight into the most opulent ballrooms... Using nothing but his wit, his charm, and a lethal sense of seduction, he claws his way out of poverty and into pure luxury—trading the company of streetwalkers for heated encounters with the social elite. It’s a world where politics and the press are constantly clawing for influence, where sex is the ultimate currency of power, and where being a household name is an absolute obsession.

Directed by Declan Donnellan, Nick Ormerod
Starring: Robert Pattinson, Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Natalia Tena, Colm Meaney, Philip Glenister, Holliday Grainger, James Lannac, Pip Torrens, Ryan Ellsworth, Todd Peterson, Jerome Ceriti, Jak Harders, Arthur Gourounlian

Emily Garcia3 said:So, I’ve sat through a handful of those 3D flicks, and honestly? I’m voting a hard pass on the whole thing... mostly because those glasses are just such a massive pain in the neck, and after a little while, my head starts absolutely throbbing from staring through them... plus, if you actually take them off to give your eyes a break, you can't see a single thing happening on screen...
I mean, don't get me wrong, *The Critics* was actually way better than most other movies shot in that format, but even then, I've pretty much decided I'm done throwing my money away just to go through the hassle of watching something in 3D again.

Tell me about it. My head starts throbbing immediately. It’s absolutely awful...😠

casualraven said:Hmmmm, sounds interesting... I just hope this doesn't turn into some weird Sucker Punch fairy tale. I mean, Singer is a big deal, so there's a glimmer of hope there 😁

By the way, it seems like these fairy tale "remixes" are everywhere lately. This summer, we're even getting Snow White in a slightly different version.

and then in 2013, we get Sleeping Beauty 😁

Nothing ever happens:

-it’s not hitting theaters
-you aren't going to see it anyway
-you think the movie is stupid

or something else entirely???

I watched this movie last night and honestly, I thought it was great. Helen is absolutely phenomenal.

And I really don't get these comments claiming this should only be interesting to people in the UK.😕

So, what, people are only supposed to care about films that focus on their own country and their own people?🤷

There’s a new cinematic spin on the old fairy tale, this one titled Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
It’s a gritty action flick set years after the original story ends... basically picking up right after that traumatic childhood experience that turned them into hardened bounty hunters.
Directed by Tommy Wirkol, the film hits theaters on March 2, 2012.

Catching up with Hansel and Gretel 15 years after The traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them. Now, Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid The town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress Who is planning to sacrifice many local children AT The witches during the upcoming 'Blood Moon' night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer Who Has taken Power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

Starring: Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare

This one looks alright to me. The trailer seems fun and the characters look adorable...

Honestly, I don't need anything else from animation.

I watched an Othello once where they were actually speaking in verse

this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114057/

but that was ages ago...

I tend to steer clear of those modernized versions, like Romeo and Julia starring Leonardo DiCaprio

And honestly, 10 Things I Hate About You is a decent enough teen flick🤣
