Of all the big summer blockbusters, this one seems to have been forgotten faster than any other. While I wouldn't go so far as to call it a masterpiece, it remains a solid, well-made film. With the sequel hitting theaters next year, my interest is piqued by only one specific factor: the director.

Even if Wes Craven wrote the screenplay, I'm really not feeling this one.
☕
Plus, Christina Milian is in the cast.

Well, let me brighten your day then...SPOILER Christina dies (supposedly she disintegrates into dust—it’s actually quite similar to how a certain character meets their end in the Japanese version)
END OF SPOILER 😁
Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) in Movies ·
Over at ain'titcool.com, they just dropped the very first script review for the new "Halloween," and it’s not looking good. Apparently, the biggest issue is that they've stripped away the mystery surrounding Michael Myers—a recurring problem that seems to be plaguing the upcoming "Hannibal Rising" as well.

I recently sat down with the Japanese original ("Cairo"), which stands out as one of the finest Asian horror films I've ever experienced. It’s a slow burn—no cheap jump scares to be found—just a deeply unsettling atmosphere and a truly fantastic ending.

The remake supposedly retains several key scenes from the original, but they’ve cluttered it with those typical Hollywood jump scares. On top of that, there's a moment where a character basically stops the plot to explain everything to the protagonists, as if understanding 🙄 was somehow too much to ask. While the reviews have been pretty scathing, the "unrated" DVD version apparently earned some minor praise. Out of pure curiosity, I think I might give it a watch anyway.

Grace Fisher31, if you find yourself with nothing else on your watchlist, go ahead and check it out—though, honestly, you'd be much better off hunting down the original film.

rowdybadger41 said:The only reason I even watched Resident Evil was because she was the perfect Jill Valentine on screen. Honestly, that’s about it.
Sienna 😍 😍
if she hadn't done her makeup 🙂
Jill isn't a blonde😳

Sienna doesn't appear in the third "Resident Evil" movie—she was busy filming "Eragon," and since the production schedules overlapped, they brought in Claire Redfield ("Resident Evil 2" and Resident Evil: Code Veronica) and Wesker instead.

Off-topic: Here is rumor number one regarding the "Dawn of the Dead" remake: remember Bubba from the original, the only zombie with actual training? Well, they’ve changed that for the remake. Apparently, they added a vegetarian zombie: some soldier who happens to be a vegetarian gets bitten and turns into a zombie that refuses to eat people. I am not joking.

It’s a mistake to compare Resident Evil to Romanov's zombie films, because we all know which movies actually hold up, don't we? There isn't much violence to speak of—in fact, RE: Apocalypse might be the first "zombie" flick that doesn't rely on heavy gore effects. It feels more like a stylized action-horror hybrid with a few little homage nods to Dawn of the Dead. And sure, Mila makes kissing everyone look like she's barely sixteen. By the third installment, Extinction, they claim it'll be knee-deep in blood. As they say—we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out!
Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) in Movies ·
What are everyone's thoughts on the remake of Carpenter's classic? Rob Zombie is handling both directing and the screenplay. Production kicks off this month, with a theatrical release slated for August of this year. The cast lineup is actually quite compelling: Danielle Harris (Halloween 5), Danny Trejo, William Forsythe, Malcolm McDowell, and Sheri Moon Zombie. 🙄 They haven't officially cast the actress for Laurie Strode yet, though there's heavy speculation that Agnes Bruckner ("Venom", "The Woods") might land the role.

Carpenter was famously disappointed with the remake of "The Fog." Do we think history is about to repeat itself with "Halloween"?
Sexiest video spot ever ??!!?? in Music ·
Madonna: "Justify my Love" - sure, it comes from her provocative "Erotica" era where the sexuality feels a bit forced, but when you pair the track with the music video, the combination actually works.

This isn't an actual theatrical trailer; it’s more of a sizzle reel put together for distributors. We should see a full-length trailer hitting theaters pretty soon.

😘 👍 Her tendency to over-enunciate every single syllable according to those modern American grammar standards really grates on me, not to mention her wooden acting in movies.

That’s honestly one of the worst movies I've ever sat through.

👋 🙂

If we were handing out Golden Malin awards, they’d definitely go to Jerry Rice and Mario Valentić on the acting side, and February and Leona Paraminski for the actresses! (Though Nada Gaćešić-Livaković wouldn't be far behind 😁 )

We should probably brace ourselves for some spectacular trash, especially considering the game this movie is based on. In the USA and across the globe, fans of the game were absolutely livid over the casting choices and the direction of the story, but everyone seems to have overlooked one glaring fact: the game doesn't actually have a coherent plot—there isn't anything remotely meaningful to follow. Since Corey Yuen is at the helm, though, you can definitely expect some high-octane action (anyone who has sat through Soul Close will know exactly what I mean).
Which actors have let you down? in Movies ·
wearygardener13 said:If you haven't seen Kingdom of Heaven yet, you absolutely need to add it to your watchlist. 🤣

Man, this is going to be an absolute spectacle! The latest rumors are flying around that the film is officially wrapped, but apparently, Herbert Boll is having a hell of a time trying to track down a distributor. 😁 Supposedly, the film is headed for a release in Germany this summer before rolling out across the rest of Europe. Based on the trailer alone, there is a glaring level of overacting, though we'll have to wait and see if it manages to surpass BloodRayne.

Ben Kingsley is an exceptional actor, but I have to say, his appearance in BloodRayne was a massive disappointment. Throughout the entire movie, he just had this one constant expression on his face: "What on earth am I doing here?"

Out of everything I’ve watched, Leon the Professional is my top pick, though The Fifth Element holds the title for my absolute favorite (for purely subjective reasons involving Milla Jovovich 😁).

You’ve completely overlooked a genuine classic...Swept Away starring the one and only Madonna! (I actually ended up watching it out of pure curiosity when it aired on HBO last year... though I only managed to sit through the first half before losing interest.)
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Movies ·
She’s solid, but that’s about as far as it goes. Honestly, her most compelling work was definitely in *Cruel Intentions*.
To all the cinephiles in America (including those just starting their journey) — I wish you nothing but incredible cinema in the coming year! 🙂
Suggestion: "Panic! At The Disco" — since they haven't seen the actual disc yet, we should probably include that exclamation point after "Panic" to give it some actual meaning 😕

😘 It’s actually a relief to find someone else who watched it... I enjoyed it so much that I went as far as translating the subtitles myself (a foolish move, considering I had an exam the next day which, naturally, I failed) just so I could show my friends. Their reaction was pretty much: 😕 - one friend of mine felt exactly the same way.
