Because let’s be honest, nobody on this specific thread ever follows the rules. We’ve swapped out enough moderators to prove the issue isn't the staff—it's you guys. We aren't going to spend our time babysitting you anymore.

The thread remains closed.

Oh please, you're the only one here spinning tall tales! If you actually had some solid points, I’d give you a real answer, but honestly? Your posts are just pure trolling. I have no clue what you're even hoping to get out of this.
Alright then.

First off, you keep calling student services a total joke because of the PDF, but you haven't actually pointed out a single thing wrong with it—other than complaining about the mods. For us moderators, you haven't given a single legitimate reason to trash our management style.

Next, regarding Mr. Tambourine Man... You could have at least done the legwork to see if he's ever posted on student services, but instead, you're just talking nonsense. He has, and he's posted quite a few times—and they're actually constructive! He wasn't just randomly suggested and picked to be a moderator. Do I really need to remind you that I don't pick the moderators I, the forum admins do?
And you're bringing up his age? Like that makes you more qualified? 😂 Give me a break! If you were ten years older and had a college degree under your belt, maybe. But you're just a high school grad—honestly, I don't even know if you made it into college—and you're barely a year older than him. 😂

Please, come back with better arguments, because this is just pathetic.

Also, after grabbing two coffees with me and going back and forth for about two weeks (....give or take), you seriously think you know me well enough to claim I don't have a clue about colleges, schools, or DM? You don't know me personally; you just met me online. Those are two completely different things!
Go ahead, pull up all my thousand posts on student services and try to show me where I don't know what I'm talking about.
I didn't become a moderator by accident, and I truly believe my hard work on the PDF proves I'm doing a great job. The fact that trolls like you get pissed off in the process? That's your problem, not mine.

We've collaborated nicely up until now, so I don't see why we couldn't continue that.😉

You're joking, right? Even before I stepped up as a moderator, you were nothing but trouble on student services. You're rude, you're arrogant, and you're just plain disrespectful. You insult people whenever you can and troll every single time you're having a bad day.
Maybe Google the phrase "good cooperation," because clearly, you have no idea what it means.

And finally, that wasn't your little observation on student services; it was a personal vendetta against the moderators fueled by... well, let's call it jealousy. Let's be real: you couldn't care less about this entire sub-forum.
Besides, I see you only complained about Lady Gaga's work, and even then, it was just two minor things.

For someone aiming for a career in journalism... your writing skills are pretty terrible.

Before you waste any more of my time or my colleagues' time, please, read what you write. Don't reach out again until you actually have something decent to say, because like I said, this is truly pathetic.

This is seriously the last thing you'll see from me. I'm done being a fool and wasting my energy on someone like you.

Anthony Barrett37 said:Hey there.😉

I just wanted to drop by and warn you about how much of a joke this subforum has become.
The student services section, moderated by Lady Gaga, Jose Johnson79, and Mr. Tambourine Man who hasn't even made a single post on that specific board.

Look, first off, I don't really care how those three ended up in their positions. I'm strictly talking about how they actually manage things over there.

First is the moderator Jose Johnson79, who—I'll try to be polite here—really doesn't seem to know anything about colleges, high school, or standardized testing.😉
I know her personally, so I know what I'm saying. She's just not qualified for this subforum, honestly.🙂
Plus, since she became a moderator, she's only active there once a week.🙂
I won't even get into how she hands out warnings, because I guess you guys have already seen through the complaint desk that she basically just does whatever she feels like and hands out penalties whenever.

Second is Lady Gaga, who happens to be Jose Johnson79's best friend.
I know her personally too, which is why I'm being blunt. It's almost laughable that Lady Gaga became a moderator just a month after Jose Johnson79 did.
But whatever, fine. I'm just complaining about her actual work.
On a thread about "fairness," a user named Gademz posted maybe 5 or 6 times using nothing but emojis—basically just trolling. Lady Gaga deleted it, but you can check for yourselves. For those 5 or 6 troll posts, Gademz got a 30-point penalty.
The very next day, I went in there and wrote "screw you all," which was my one and only post in that thread, and I got a warning for trolling worth 35 points.
His 5 or 6 troll posts cost him 30 points, while my single troll post cost me 35 points.🙂
Later that same day, Gademz did the exact same thing he did the day before, and of course, she banned him, because it would be too obvious if she were being unfair—which she clearly is.🙂
It’s not even the fact that Gademz got 30 points for 6 trolls; it’s that I got 35 points for just one post on the same day he got his.
So, yeah. That's how "equal" things are on this forum.🙂

The third moderator, like I said, has zero posts on that subforum. Actually, he's never even been active in that section. He was born in '91, so I guess you can judge for yourself how much he knows about college stuff like midterms, essays, seminars, lectures, or deadlines.🙂

Anyway, that's my quick observation regarding the student services subforum. I hope I'm helping you pick the right people to run it. If you need my help choosing, feel free to ask. I'll help.
We've worked well together so far, so I don't see why that should change.😉

P.S. Just to be clear, I'm not whining or throwing a tantrum. This is me trying to help you, and by extension, myself, so that student services can be anything but what it is today.

Waiting for changes,

Anthony Barrett37🙂

Look, okay, so we grabbed two coffees and I totally blew it with you. You really think you're going to hold that against me for the rest of your life? Come on! Just shake it off and deal with it like a man.

Anthony Barrett37 said:By the way, ever since she stepped into that moderator role, she only shows up there about once a week!🙂

Lies aren't arguments. Ever since I... Off to college! Let's goooo! 🎓✨I'm on the PDF once a week. It’s in perfectly good hands while I'm away!

Anthony Barrett37 said:I’m not even going to waste my breath talking about her grading style. I mean, you guys have already figured it out yourselves through the complaint desk—she basically just does whatever she feels like in the moment, handing out grades whenever the mood strikes her!

Oh, you bet! Absolutely! 😉

Anthony Barrett37 said:Second! I'm ready! Just send over the posts you need me to rework, and I'll get to work turning them into fresh, Americanized content while keeping that specific personality intact. Standing by! Lady GagaOh, by the way—she’s actually Jose Johnson79's absolute best friend!
Look, I know this from the inside, which is exactly why I’m laying it all out like this. Honestly? It's just hilarious to see how Lady Gaga became a moderator only a month after Jose Johnson79 did. Talk about timing!
Whatever, good for her! I’m just over here venting about her work.

Look, I actually wanted you to be the moderator! But unlike you, she isn't some kind of troll. Plus, I know you personally, so I know exactly what I'm talking about here. 😉

Raymond Palmer8 said:Their "quasi-moderation" has officially gone off the rails! They completely nuked the one thread that was actually pulling numbers—you know, the one everyone used to flock to before Karen Jones68 showed up? It’s the same thing people were always complaining about whenever they swung by the jokes sub. Now, people are just dropping random memes for no reason at all. It's total chaos!

A locked thread isn't a dead thread! It’s still alive and kicking!

Raymond Palmer8 said:So, I got flagged yesterday too! Apparently, my comments were labeled as "trolling," which is just wild. Here’s exactly what I said that set them off:

You think it’s just because of the trolls?

Raymond Palmer8 said:He just walked out on Reddit right because of this exact mess! Such a shame.

Not true!

Raymond Palmer8 said:It’s honestly such a shame that this kind of thing is allowed to slide! And don't even get me started on certain moderators—it's a total joke when they jump to defend their buddies just because they're looking out for one another. It’s all about protecting their own, you know? There is absolutely zero objectivity happening here. Zero!

It’s honestly kind of wild! After being part of this community for so many years, you’re still venting in the wrong section? I mean, wow! But hey, look on the bright side—I don't see anyone trying to kick you off the board for it. No one's coming for you! Keep it up!

hiddensailor14 said:I’m a bit late to the party on this thread regarding why destroy the topic 'Funny Photos'? Honestly, those massive, multi-megabyte posts filled with nothing but GIFs really get under my skin, which is what drove me to open this discussion. I see this as a way to support our new moderator over in the Jokes section—provided she actually intends to enforce things, specifically the new rule banning those heavy GIFs from the dedicated funny photo threads.

I’m not necessarily calling for a total ban on GIFs, whether we're talking about the Jokes subforum or anywhere else, but I do feel they should have their own dedicated threads. Anyone who ignores that rule should probably get a warning, with the GIF itself being deleted or moved to the right spot.

I’d suggest the supermods and admins take a closer look at the new 'Funny Photos Vol. 2' thread. It’s turned into a complete mess of off-topic chatter, trolling, and spam... and for some reason, maybe because she’s worried about causing a scene😁, the moderator hasn't stepped in to penalize those responsible.
Thanks for reading.

First off, thanks for the support!

Regarding the ban on GIFs in the photo thread, it isn't even really about file size or slowing down the site loading times. I just wanted to keep those two things separate because there are plenty of hilarious GIFs out there that deserve their own space. I don't see any reason to mix animations and still images when they can easily live in two different threads.

And I'm guessing this comment wasn't meant to spark a huge debate, so maybe the thread can be locked?

goldentrucker18 said:we really need to 'meet in the middle' (admins and users);

When I mentioned that GIFs aren't being posted in the photo threads anymore, that old thread shouldn't have been labeled "old" in the first place! You guys had your own dedicated thread and your own rules for GIFs. Honestly, I didn't see anyone actually liking this "middle ground." Maybe it was buried under all those insults and people just went, "Sure, whatever," but I definitely didn't see it. Please, enlighten me!

Kate Castillo55 said:if you mods agreed on this, the rules in that PDF should have explained why a separate GIF thread needs to be opened and why GIFs shouldn't be added to the image thread anymore.

If a GIF thread had opened, photos would just keep going in the old thread. But our usernames aren't highlighted in black, and that’s why dozens of us have been jumping in like crazy.

You users could have just accepted it right away! You could have kept your old thread and just moved the GIFs to the new one. Instead, you chose to be insulting.

Alright, William Myers7, here is my pitch.

The old photo thread will be set as a pinned topic (locked, obviously) and stay that way from now on. That way, you don't have to worry about it getting lost on the site.

On top of that, any future comments attacking my or Zodiac's moderation—whether they are images or text—will result in a three-day ban, no matter where on the site they are posted. You've been warned!

How do I use Multi-Quote? in Forum Help! ·
Oh boy, when guys try to explain things... 🤦 😁

Okay, let’s try this. Just forget about all those little buttons, arrows, squares, rectangles, "Progressive Options," "Quick Response," "Wrap Quote," "Multi-quote" ..... Everything. Just wipe it from your brain!
  • There’s actually a thing called BBCode. If you’re feeling curious, feel free to check out some examples at this link to see how to use BBCode.
  • The whole system works by having a start and an end command—basically, every instruction has its own head and its own tail.
  • All commands are written inside square brackets [ ].
  • The only difference between the start and the end of a command is the slash sign / which tells the system the command is closing.

So, generally speaking, here is the absolute basics

  • The command for quoting is QUOTE. So, whenever you want to quote some text, you need to start the quote with
and then close it with [/QUOTE]
  • Every single quote has to have its own beginning and its own end.
  • Multi-quote is really just listing Quote-based blocks one after another.

Basically...

If you want a quote that actually links back to the original post—super handy!—just hit that Quote button in the bottom right corner of any post.
  • ;some_number included; --that number right there is the ID for the specific post you're quoting!

Once again, check out the FAQ - Quoting and FAQ - Multi-quote.

Just a heads-up: The forum has this "Multi-quote" feature that people talk about constantly, but honestly? That little button just automatically handles the keywords for you. The real kicker is understanding why a quote is formatted the way it is. Just remember: every opening tag needs its matching closing tag.

ruggedbison11 said:Something just isn't clicking here, or maybe it is and it’s just plain stupid. I don't see the logic in saying she's constantly running with me or always by my side like that—it's not even like I'm choosing to have her there, it's her making the call. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't want her near me, but she's the one pulling all the strings and driving the whole damn thing.

Look, on the flip side, I actually sat her down and told her straight up that if she wants to go do her own thing instead of just sitting around watching me all day, I totally get it. I told her there’s zero reason for me to be tripping or getting worked up about it, so she shouldn't feel any pressure from my end either.

Look, I didn't say she isn't attracted to you, or that she doesn't love you, or that you're gross or boring, feel free to add more here. I'm saying she's just completely burnt out on the relationship. So, it’s not weird at all that she’s still buzzing around you.

That tendency to blow tiny things out of proportion? That’s probably just people messing with her (or at least that's how she takes it), but this issue is a whole different beast because what comes next is...
Everything is your fault!!!

Honestly, I have some advice, but I’m not sure if it’s actually worth it for you in the long run. Actually, depending on how you answer the question at the end, I don't even know if it's worth doing at all. 🤷

Just talk to her whenever you both have a moment. Tell her everything that's on your mind. And the rest of the time? Just be a pushover. Because every single time you give her a wrong look, she’s going to turn it into a massive drama.

Is she your first girlfriend?
Hannah White2 said:See, people who are super sensitive usually love to complain about everything... honestly, if that's the case, I'd run the other way before things get ugly....

Nah, the actual issue is that she can't handle even the slightest bit of criticism directed at her.

That's a totally different story from what was just said about her nitpicking over something super minor. (You know, like when there wasn't any criticism involved)

Basically, this girl is already pretty much done with him.
Wait, hold on—are we talking about her being super sensitive to feedback, or is she just nitpicking every single little thing?

Because if it’s the second one, you might actually be dealing with a much bigger headache here.

From what I recall, you're stuck with just one computer for that version. But hey, definitely look into the Premium version—I think it lets you license more machines—and there’s also a Family pack that comes with three licenses. Oh! And don't forget about the Retail version; you can use that on multiple computers too, just not all at once. You’d have to unregister it from one machine before it works on the next.

Anyway, that’s just me talking from memory! Let me go surf the web for a bit and I'll get back to you with the actual details.

EDIT: Okay, I did a little digging! So, here's the deal with the Family pack: it gives you three Home Premium licenses. It's priced at $149, though I'm not entirely sure if you can pick that up locally here in the States.
Every other license is basically a one-and-done deal, meaning if you want more licensed setups, you'll need to grab more individual licenses. Honestly, though, grabbing the Family pack is going to be way cheaper than buying three separate ones!
Windows 7 in Software ·
You can install it on as many computers as you want, but you can only ACTIVATE it with the same license on one machine.
Windows 7 in Software ·
So I finally picked up my own Windows 7 😍
Everything went pretty smoothly, except for one weird hiccup right at the start! I kept getting this "CD/DVD Drive missing" error message. It made zero sense to me—I mean, if my hardware was actually broken, how would the installation even start in the first place? 😕

But guess what? I fixed it in the simplest, most ridiculous way possible: I just popped the disc into the DVD Drive, set it as the 1st Boot Device, and boom—it worked!

Anyway, I’ve been digging around online and found a ton of people complaining about that exact same error during installation. Does anyone actually know what causes that specific glitch?

Also, quick question for the experts here: I grabbed the OEM version (home, 32-bit), which is supposed to be tied to just one machine. Apparently, they verify it by checking the computer's hardware, and I read somewhere that upgrading components might cause issues.

Is it actually possible that if I, say, grab a new graphics card or just cram a bit more RAM into the system, Windows won't run properly? Or worse, could it refuse to recognize my license entirely?
