Robert De Niro in Movies ·
De Niro is everything, really, except for being a one-note actor, and even though I mentioned on another thread here that De Niro just pulls the same expression over and over—you have to realize I was saying that specifically when comparing him to another legend, Pacina—but that was far from my actual, honest opinion of the man...

Robert De Niro is a powerhouse ☕

If you want proof, just look at his career, which is basically a string of hits with almost zero misses (if we aren't counting those recent 😉), playing such an incredible range of characters, and honestly, it’s not even his fault that people mostly just want to see De Niro as some gritty tough guy, because he actually took those exact types of roles and turned them into cinematic perfection.

The movies where he absolutely crushed it:
-Raging Bull 🙏
-The Deer Hunter 🙏
-Awakening (happened to watch it ten years ago and it really stuck 😲 )
-rt fear 😠
-Jackie Brown 😂

In my eyes, his last truly great performance was in
City by the Sea
Even if the movie itself isn't anything special... actually, it's kind of bad, and I felt like De Niro's acting was totally unrecognizable compared to everything he had done up to that point.
Oh, and I just can't stand 😁

And finally, my absolute favorite scene of his:

Edward Norton in Movies ·
If you ask me, his absolute peak performance was in American History X... I mean, there are moments where you honestly can't even recognize him... though, obviously, you've got Fight Club and 25th Hour in the mix too, which I'd say are probably his top two greatest hits...

It’s such a good movie... honestly, I’m kicking myself a little now for not saving it for the holidays... it just has that certain feeling, you know? That perfect holiday vibe 😍
Jurassic Park in Movies ·
It falls into the "believe it or not" category—I actually went to see the first installment in theaters no more and no less than four different times 🙂

Jaap Stam announces retirement in Soccer ·
Carl Mendoza4 said:Yeah, it was basically the same story for three or four months while Jaap Stam was still finding his rhythm and struggling to gel with the squad.

Once he finally settled in with the rest of the guys, he played so incredibly well that he actually forced Blažičko to apologize.
I honestly think that, alongside winning the Champions League, stands as one of the absolute peaks of his entire career.

I found him absolutely fascinating back at Lazio when they moved him over to right back; he played that role so brilliantly, showing everyone he had both the technical skill and the high football IQ to match.

Blažičko back in the day: "the most overpriced mess in the premier league"🙄

see if you can track down Lance from the movie Hard Target too

Can you just tell me when!?!🙂
Cruising (1980) in Movies ·
Maybe I’m just being narrow-minded... but I really felt like I was left hanging without some actual answers once the credits rolled...😕 🤷

EDIT:Oh, wow, I just now realized people are saying a huge chunk of the movie is actually missing, which might actually explain why some parts felt so out of place...
Unforgettable movie torture scenes in Movies ·
I personally felt 🙂 was just as intense, especially watching George Clooney suffer through the tension in Syriana...
Oh man, yeah... Idiocracy is such an incredible movie 😂
Nobody’s really brought up Minority Report yet... but honestly, there are some pretty easy ways to pull off those kinds of tricks if you think about it...

You probably should have scrolled through a few more pages than that...

Armageddon (1998) in Movies ·
...but honestly, he had his standout moments too:
- Steve Buscemi (that scene riding on the warhead)
- Peter Stormare (playing that Russian hero)
...hmmm, let me think... what else was there...🤔

- those classic Michael Bay slow-motion shots ?? 🤣 👎

...I mean, it’s such a silly movie—compared to this, Independence Day is basically a cinematic masterpiece😁

Honestly, the movie isn't bad at all, and if I had to guess based on just a gut feeling... it feels like a dark, murky yellow to me...
Hot Fuzz (2007) in Movies ·
I was just sitting here wondering if anyone actually kicks the bucket during that massive shootout at the end—besides the police chief, who gets taken out by a freaking rogue swan... 🤣

This is honestly such a great read, you really should take a moment to check it out...

Really solid stuff 👍
I was rewatching 'The Fugitive' the other day, and man, I have to say... it really hit me differently this time...😲 It felt like T. L. Jones spent the entire movie just playing a heightened version of himself, and honestly, even Henry Ford went way too far with the overacting, it was almost painful to watch... such a letdown, really, just your typical 90s flick, though I suppose I have to admit that if we hadn't had movies like that back then, we probably wouldn't have the stuff we see today...

All three movies really come together to form one incredible trilogy, the kind of thing I’ll honestly never get tired of revisiting... John Doe! 👍

If only it were that easy... looking at this, it feels like something straight out of a storybook... you've got Iraqis celebrating, but then you look around and see all those glass skyscrapers everywhere...🙂
