What program were you using to make and edit that doc? An *.MDI extension is a file meant to be opened with "Microsoft Office Document Imaging". Check out the link and see what's up.

I have attempted those steps, yet the issue persists. Furthermore, I am unable to select all the images I inserted into the document; they simply refuse to be highlighted.
I cannot fathom what occurred within the settings regarding the paste function. I have experimented with various adjustments there as well, but nothing yields results.
Regardless of where I place the cursor, it attaches itself to a small icon at the start, then jumps to the next identical icon at a forty-five-degree angle and proceeds downward in a diagonal fashion.
I would appreciate any insight you might offer.

Any ideas? Help me out here...

Just make a copy of the file, wipe everything except a couple of lists, and drop a link download right here on the forum. It'll be way easier for someone to jump in and help you out.

Here is the link to the file. I am operating under the assumption that someone here might actually be capable of assisting me.

I’ve tried doing it that way, but honestly, it just isn't working for me...
Please, if anyone has any bright ideas, I'm all ears.

Give this a shot:
Go through the menus one by one: Tools, then Options, then Edit. If you see "Top and bottom" selected under the Insert/paste pictures setting, that might be exactly why everything is falling apart on you. Try switching it to "In line with text," or maybe pick any of the other options besides "Top and bottom." Then, in the Picture editor field above, select Microsoft Word. The fix is actually pretty simple, but it's definitely worth a go... (I'm running the 2003 version myself).

You haven't actually tried everything yet. I don't know which version of Word you're running, but those images were set to "Behind text"
Basically, your "Text Wrapping" settings are messed up. Switch them to "In line with text" or "Square" depending on how you want the layout to look (@Walter Jackson48/">@@Walter Jackson48 already gave you the rundown). Check out that link I sent earlier about image formatting—it covers a few different ways to handle pictures.

Also, that "First Line Indent" thing is just messing with your margins; it's that little slider at the top of the ruler. I fixed it for you, so take a look at this file for Download

I have managed to uncover something... within the advanced options, there are three or four positioning choices for both vertical and horizontal alignment. There is also an "allow overlap" setting located just below; if I disable that, things seem fine, yet the moment I attempt to paste another image, the overlap behavior stubbornly returns to its previous state...
I am wondering if there is any way to restore the default settings without having to resort to that "open and repair" utility via the Control Panel...
I attempted that, but the issue persists exactly as before...
My thanks to the gentlemen for their efforts...😍

Does anyone happen to have a link or a torrent for Office 7? Everywhere I look, it either demands a license or just offers a free trial version...
Thanks! 😉

I know this software is old, but I used to feel right at home with it—or at least, I thought I did.😢
Namely, I finally finished my thesis... added the table of contents and everything. But here's the snag: I don't want page numbers showing up on the first three pages. Microsoft Word gives me the option to hide the number on the very first page, but it won't let me do the same for the next two (or even just one more).
The second I try to delete the page number from the footer, Microsoft Word just wipes out the numbering for the entire document.🙄
I've been fighting with this for days now. I checked the Microsoft Word help files, and they explain perfectly that I need to uncheck "Link to Previous" for the sections, but that option isn't showing up for me anywhere. I have no clue where I'm supposed to click to actually make that function available.🤷

Hey there, I've run into a bit of a mess with Microsoft Outlook 2010

I just set up a fresh install of Windows 7 and my Office suite crashed during the process. Before everything went south, I managed to run a data export on my old installation—same programs, same setup—so I ended up with a backup.pst file and yx@yx.pst file

Once I got the new Outlook running, I configured all my email settings. Then I tried importing that backup file, and this is how my Outlook ended up looking:

backup
inbox
outbox
.....

yx@yx.com
inbox
search folders

Next, I went to import the yx@yx.pst file and told it to merge everything into yx@yx.com (which is the data folder created when I first launched Outlook)

But instead, it just opens yet another data folder yx@yx.com and now things look like this:

backup
inbox
outbox
.....

yx@yx.com
inbox
search folders

yx@yx.com (1)
inbox
outbox
....

Emails are sending and receiving through this specific data folder->
yx@yx.com — basically the new one...

But where the hell are my sent items, deleted items, junk mail folders...?
+
Is there any way at all to merge these two data folders into one single one?

I know I've made this sound a little complicated, but maybe someone out there can make sense of it... 😁

Urgent I need someone who can generate high-res PDFs and high-res editable RNG files (presumably converted from the PDF). Happy to pay for the help—shoot me a PM if you can handle this.

I'm doing some practice for my college coursework, trying to tackle a problem in Microsoft Excel 2007.
I wrote a formula to add up two cells, but I keep getting a zero. I've tried these different syntaxes:

Code:
=SUM(value1;value2)

Code:
=SUM(value1,value2)

Code:
=SUM(value1:value2)

If you want to see what I'm actually looking at, here's a screenshot.

Look, I'm pretty sure what’s happening here is a mismatch in your system settings. Your Regional Settings probably have the number format set to something like 12,000.00, but for this specific task to actually function, you need it formatted as 12.000,00. It’s one of those annoying little technicalities that drives me up the wall. Just hit the Start menu, head over to the Control Panel, find your Regional Settings, and switch the number format to 12.00,00. That should sort it out.

Hey everyone,

I could really use some help here. I've put together this little macro:

Sub skinibojusacelija()
Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = xlNone
End Sub

Here’s the thing, though—I want to take this a step further. I'm trying to build this into a "before print" and "after print" event. Basically, I want the sheet to print without any cell coloring, but then have the colors pop right back in once the printing is finished. Does anyone know how to pull that off?

Thanks a million!

To me, this looks more like a formatting issue within the cells themselves. Since all his other formulas are working just fine, I don't really see how regional settings could be the culprit here.

Try copying the formula from cell F20—the one that actually works—into cell H16, and then just manually adjust the range to fit what you need. If the working formulas are using semicolons as separators, then trying to use commas won't work. Honestly, I haven't run into an Excel setup that uses commas for summing unless you're following a specific guide by an American author.

I’m actually looking to take this a step further and turn it into a "before print" and "after print" type of workflow. Basically, I want it to print the sheet with all the cell colors stripped out, but then have everything snap back to normal right after the job is done. Does anyone know how to pull that off?

Thanks so much!

Just record a macro while you perform those steps manually, then tweak the code a bit to clean it up. Once that's done, just drop a button onto the sheet and assign the macro to it. Easy enough, right?

I have a quick question regarding Microsoft Access. Suppose I have a field called brKoef, and I'm trying to figure out which formula I can use in a report footer to multiply all the values in that specific field together. For example, I want it to calculate a*b*c*d*e... and so on.
Thanks!

Here’s the situation: whenever I try to insert a chart into Word, I get hit with this annoying error message: "To insert a chart, you must close any open dialog boxes or cancel editing mode in Microsoft Office Excel." It’s incredibly frustrating because it completely halts my workflow. Does anyone have a reliable way to resolve this so I can actually get back to inserting charts without the constant interruptions? Thanks in advance for any help.
