I know where it is, I'm heading there... I just want to see if anyone else from here is going.

Just so weβre all on the same pageβif anyone decides to kick off a debate about steroids, Iβm going to be handing out bans like candy. Consider this a fair warning. Anyone who brings them up first gets a minimum 3-day ban from the board.

So, Iβm hitting the Optimum Nutrition elite Whey in the mornings and right after my workoutsβit's got all the good stuff, glucose, creatine, you know the drillβand then I'm slamming some Weider protein 80 plus before I crash for the night, along with some fasting... is that actually a solid plan or am I just wasting my time?

Yeah, itβs fineβthough instead of that MuscleTech stuff, you really ought to switch to a pure casein powder. Those "fast-acting" proteins found in the MuscleTech blend don't make much sense at night; you want to be leaning on slow-digesting casein during those hours. Sure, there's some in that MuscleTech mix, but it's definitely not as much as what you'd get from straight-up casein... and then fasting on top of that? Man, that's wild.π

Whey mixed with glucose is really just a supplement you take right after a workout. Just mix the whey, some glucose, and water.
Alright... so we've got the measurements figured out...
If I'm doing 30g of whey, then how much glucose should I add?

Well, I guess it really depends on your body mass, how hard you train, and what your specific goals are, but honestly, itβs not like it's make-or-break.
Maybe 100g is a nice, easy, round number to go with.

Honestly, I just want to bulk up... I'm way too skinny... Just trying to fill out these gaps a bit...
I've started hitting the gym... focusing mostly on back and chest exercises...

Oh, you're a girl? In that case, maybe aim for around 70g.
But honestly, that shake is only one tiny part of the whole puzzle.
The rest of your day has to be dialed in too, you know?
And what about legs? Did you decide they don't need work, or...?

Which of these two wheys should I pick for my Whey Protein, and why?
Premium Whey
(High biological value whey protein. Whey protein isolate. Microfiltered whey protein concentrate. Contains natural bioactive nutrients such as globulins and glycomacropeptides. Enriched with L-glutamine. Aspartame free.)
vs.
CFM Whey
(100% bioactive whey protein isolate with the highest biological value! Prepared using a specialized CFM technology process (Cross-Flow Microfiltration). CFM Whey protein contains very low carbohydrates, making it a high-value protein source.)

How on earth did you narrow it down to just those two? Especially when you're browsing an ultra-sketchy site like that...
#815 ·
The first one is some kind of blendβyou can see itβs enriched with L-glutamine and BCAAs and all that extra stuffβwhile the second one is just straight Whey. To be honest, you could probably find better options out there too (stuff with higher protein content, fewer carbs and fats, and a better price point), but if you're just training recreationally, it honestly doesn't matter much. Just grab whichever one tastes better to you and fits your budget.

Like what, for instance? π
(I honestly don't have the energy to hunt down every single manufacturer's ingredient list online, and I'm not even aware of all the brands on the market, so if you wouldn't mind, please list a few that you consider superior.) π

The first one is also just pure Whey!
I mean, honestly, I guess pretty much every whey protein out there comes with some glutamine and BCAAs already included, right? It seems like thatβs just the standard nowadays!
So, basically, those are just amino acidsβthey're like the fundamental building blocks that make up the whey protein itself!
Carl Taylor said:How on earth did you narrow it down to just those two? Especially when you were browsing that super high-end site... I mean, seriously!
Man, you can totally see that you just added it to your favorites and now you're basically asking the exact same thing every single day! π

Yeah... I know... I've been obsessed with MuscleTech Nitro-Tech for a while now... but what can I say? It was love at first sight. π
Alright, seriously though... jokes aside... let me explain why I stick with MuscleTech.
A friend of a friend used to be a professional bodybuilder (he's an older guy now, mid-40s).
He told him that MuscleTech is the premier brand for protein and recommended that MuscleTech Nitro-Tech I mentioned a few pages back as a starting point. His logic was that pure Whey isn't quite right for beginners yetβat least, that's his take.
Now, seeing everyone here claim there are much better brands than MuscleTech, I'm left wondering who actually knows what they're talking about... the pro bodybuilder or all of you. π

electricangler51 said:So, here's the thing... I see everyone in this thread arguing that there are way better brands out there than Weider, and honestly, I'm a bit lost on who to actually listen to... is it the pro bodybuilders or just you guys? π
Look, if anyone is actually suggesting MuscleTech Nitro-Tech as your go-to post-workout meal, they clearly don't know what they're talking about.

jadetiger962 said:Whoever suggested using MuscleTech Nitro-Tech as a post-workout meal clearly hasn't spent much time thinking about it.
MuscleTech Nitro-Tech is really more of an all-around blendβyou've got those fast-acting proteins mixed with slower onesβso you could technically use it as a Whey Protein Isolate substitute, I guess. Of course, going with straight Whey would be a much better call, but this works if you're in a pinch...
