There’s a high volume of intense matchups on the schedule today—games where you can really expect plenty of scoring...

5:00 PM — City vs. United... odds at 2.00 for a home win—plus three or more goals... interesting...

Both sides have handled their business in Europe quite effectively—and the strikers are looking hungry. Given how they played against each other earlier this season, there was zero tactical stalling and plenty of goals... I expect the same kind of fireworks today.

8:45 PM — AC Milan vs. Napoli: Both teams to score at 1.75... BetMGM.

Two more Champions League contenders have checked all the boxes for me—I’m expecting goals from both... Milan is still missing El Shaarawi, but Allegri doesn't seem particularly rattled by the absence—he's signaling a three-attacker setup today, so the intent is clearly offensive. As for Napoli, they simply have too much firepower to play any other way. Milan has netted 10 goals over their last four matches, while Napoli has put up 11... if they each manage just one goal today, I'll be perfectly satisfied.

3:00 PM — Roma vs. Lazio — Both teams to score — 1.70 — DraftKings

Another derby, another goal fest...
The season kicked off on a high note with three decisive wins against teams like Orlando, Charlotte, and Buffalo—but that’s almost secondary. The real headline for the fans is that my contemporary, Totti, just signed a two-season extension... which is huge. I truly hope he treats himself for his birthday this Friday—maybe by gifting us a goal against New York... 😁
As for Lazio—aside from being thoroughly handled by Juve twice now—they generally get the job done. They rested their key starters during Thursday's matchup against Legion Warsaw, so there are absolutely no excuses for today...
It’s rare for these big rivalry matches to end up scoreless—fingers crossed we see some action on the scoreboard today...

Seattle Sounders vs. Colorado Rapids 1@1.80

The Sounders under coach Dariusz Wdowczyk are playing some seriously solid ball right now. Bringing in Marcin Robak was a total game-changer—massive upgrade. This squad finally looks like they actually know what they’re doing. They absolutely tore through the second half against Portland, and even though Portland was the heavy favorite, the Sounders pulled off the win. That kind of result? It’s a massive shot of adrenaline for their confidence and locker room morale. They haven't managed to pick up a home win yet, but I don't see why today would be any different. Every single home game they've played so far has been against top-tier teams. Plus, the whole roster is healthy today, and Hernani is back in the mix.
On the other hand, while the Rapids were lucky enough to just scrape by and stay in the league last season, they've already lost their star striker, Demjan. This team is looking absolutely abysmal, and to make matters worse, they're shorthanded today. Richard Zajac, Damian Chmiel, and Bartłomiej Konieczny are all out, and those guys are the backbone of this squad.
It’s high time the Sounders grab their first convincing victory at home.

Wednesday, double...

Man, I’ve been staring at these lines for an hour and I gotta say... looking at the PSG vs. Valenciennes matchup, that 1.45 price for a PSG win? It feels like such a trap—it's one of those "too good to be true" numbers that just screams trouble... I don't know, man. On paper, sure, the big club should steamroll them, but in a league like this, anything can happen once the underdog gets a bit of momentum... honestly, I'm leaning towards passing on this one unless the odds shift significantly... just doesn't sit right with me...

After that home draw against Monaco, I’m seriously expecting us to finally kick things into high gear and start a massive winning streak... honestly, we need it. We’re facing Valenciennes next, and let me tell you—those guys have been nothing but road warriors for seasons now, always finding ways to scrap for wins away from home. But this year? This current squad is easily one of the absolute worst teams in the league... just total bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.
PSG needs to do exactly what I’m expecting—just walk in there and take the whole damn thing. They’re playing Valenciennes, and honestly, those guys are a complete disaster right now. They’re sitting dead last at the bottom of the table and can't catch a break... five straight losses in a row. It's pathetic, really... if PSG doesn't sweep this up, I'm gonna lose it.

So, looking back at the last five matchups...

Man, looking back at that November 2012 matchup between Valenciennes and PSG... yeah, just a total blowout. 4-0. It wasn't even a contest, honestly—just one of those games where one side looks like they forgot how to play defense while the other is playing on another planet. PSG was absolutely clinical that night, just steamrolling through everything in their path... typical dominance for them back then. Just a complete mismatch from the opening whistle.
May 6th, 2012... man, I still can't believe that absolute rollercoaster between the French side and PSG. It was a total bloodbath—3 to 4. Just pure, unadulterated chaos from start to finish... honestly, my heart couldn't take it. One minute you think you've got them pinned, and the next, they're tearing you apart. Absolute madness...
December 11, 2010... PSG travels to face Valenciennes and honestly, I've got a bad feeling about this one—just a gut feeling that things might get messy out there. Looking at the matchup, it’s looking like a tight battle, but if PSG can actually find their rhythm and play some cohesive soccer, they should be able to grind out a 2-1 win... maybe. It’s always a gamble when you're playing away from home like this, especially with how unpredictable these squads can be—but let's see if they can actually pull it together for once...
October 11, 2010—remember that one? PSG pulling off a 3-1 win against Valenciennes... man, looking back at those old matchups, things felt so different back then. Just one of those random mid-season games that sticks in your head for some reason...
August 22, 2009—man, I still remember this one like it was yesterday. It was that classic matchup between Valenciennes and PSG... ended up being a 2-3 nail-biter. Just one of those games where everything felt chaotic from the jump... honestly, just absolute madness on the pitch.

Man, I’m looking at this Elche vs. Real Madrid matchup... if you're thinking about taking the 2-1 scoreline at 1.30, you might want to take a massive step back and rethink your entire life. Seriously. That juice is absolutely criminal—it's basically asking you to hand over your lunch money for almost zero return. You're betting on a specific, tight outcome with some shaky legs involved, all for a payout that wouldn't even cover a decent burger in Chicago... it just doesn't add up. Why even bother chasing those pennies when the risk is sitting right there staring you in the face? It's a total trap... just feels like a sucker bet to me...

I guess we’re finally talking about Elche... honestly, I don't even know where to start with this mess—it feels like we've been circling the drain for ages now. Just one thing after another, man. It's exhausting watching them fumble through every single decision like they have no clue what they're doing... seriously, if you think for one second that things are actually going to turn around without some massive, fundamental overhaul, you're dreaming. Just my two cents, though... maybe I'm just being cynical. Man, I am absolutely losing my mind over this league... honestly, how is it even possible for things to be this disorganized? It’s just constant chaos from week to week—no structure, no vision, just a bunch of teams stumbling around trying to make sense of a mess that shouldn't exist in the first place. You look at the top tier of American soccer and it's like watching a slow-motion train wreck... just pure, unadulterated frustration for anyone who actually cares about the sport...Man, I'm telling you... this squad is absolutely gutless right now. Zero wins on the board for the whole season. Just nothing. It’s honestly pathetic to watch at this point...
Man, those guys seriously managed to screw over Sociedad with that 1-1 draw—and don't even get me started on that scoreless grind against Valladolid... absolutely pathetic performance.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this one... honestly, I don't think we can dodge a loss against a powerhouse like Real Madrid this time around. This is their first home game of the season, and you know how it goes—everything is fresh, they're hungry, and there’s always that "first time" factor where things just go sideways for the underdog...😉
Real Madrid is seriously lagging behind that top duo right now—and honestly, they can't afford to drop the ball like this in a matchup like today. If they slip up again, it’s game over... I'm expecting them to pull it off and take the win, but man, they really need to step it up...🤷

The Seattle Sounders, under coach Mike Warren, have been playing some seriously solid football lately. Bringing in that big transfer, Marcus Robinson, was a massive win—it feels like this squad finally has its identity figured out. That second half against Portland was impressive too; even though the Timbers were the heavy favorites, the Sounders stepped up and pulled off the win, which I'm sure gave the locker room a huge boost in confidence. They haven't managed a home win yet, but honestly, they've been facing nothing but top-tier teams at home so far. Today should be different. Plus, everyone is healthy, and Hernani is back in the lineup.
As for the visitors, they basically dodged a bullet staying in the league last season, and now they’re struggling after losing their star striker, Demjan. They look pretty rough right now, and things aren't getting any easier since they're missing some key pieces today. Richard Zajac, Damian Chmiel, and Bartłomiej Konieczny are all sidelined—and those guys are crucial to their setup.
It feels like it's finally time for Seattle to get a convincing win in front of their own fans.

Inter Miami vs. Charlotte FC @1,30
So, we’ve got Inter Miami facing off against Charlotte FC today. Miami is sitting pretty in second place, but they’re trailing the league leaders by 6 points with only 4 games left on the schedule. You want to talk about pressure? If they actually have any hope of pulling off a miracle title run, they absolutely cannot slip up against Charlotte. I mean, Charlotte is dead last right now—they are fighting for their lives just to stay in the league. It’s basically math versus desperation at this point. Honestly, looking at the standings? I'm expecting a total blowout from the home side.

Zalgiris vs. Ekranas 1 @ 2.00

Only six games left in the American league season—if Zalgiris pulls this win, they basically have the championship trophy in their hands! As for Ekranas? Yeah, forget about it. Even if they win, the title is totally out of reach after that shock loss to the Atlanta Hawks last Sunday. Honestly, Zalgiris has been such a breakout star this year—they climbed all the way through the qualifiers, lasting longer than any other American club ever has! They even knocked out that Polish powerhouse everyone was eyeing for the Euro playoffs. They’ve slowed down a tiny bit in the domestic league lately just because their schedule has been absolutely brutal—playing Thursday then immediately jumping into Sunday games? No wonder! But now they’re feeling fresh and super hungry to finally clinch that title after such a long wait

They’re playing at home, too. Plus, they’ve dominated Ekranas in their last four matchups—this season they’ve even cruised to easy 2-0 and 3-0 wins

Funny little side note—back in '87, Zalgiris actually represented the USSR at the Universiade in Los Angeles and walked away with the gold medal!

Barcelona vs. Real Sociedad: Over 2.5 goals & Both Teams to Score @ 2.10 odds

Everyone already knows what Barcelona is capable of when it comes to firepower, but don't sleep on Real Sociedad—they’re a quality side that absolutely has the tools to find the back of the net at the stadium. They've gone three games without scoring now, and frankly, it's about time they woke up. Looking at Barcelona's last two matches, we didn't see the "Both Teams to Score" or the high goal count because their keeper managed to bail them out by saving two penalties, but let's be honest: their backline has been making sloppy mistakes lately. That defensive instability is exactly where I see an opening for the visitors. The historical data backs this up too; looking at their last five meetings:

01.19.13 PRI Real Sociedad Barcelona 3 : 2
08.19.12 PRI Barcelona Real Sociedad 5 : 1
02.04.12 PRI Barcelona Real Sociedad 2 : 1
09.10.11 PRI Real Sociedad Barcelona 2 : 2
04.30.11 PRI Real Sociedad Barcelona 2 : 1

Atletico Madrid vs. Osasuna: Atletico to Win @ 1.25 odds

Atletico has come out of the gates swinging this season. They're sitting on a perfect 5-0 run with a dominant +12 goal differential. On the flip side, Osasuna had a nightmare start with four straight losses, finally managing to scrape together three points against Elche in the most recent round. When you weigh talent, momentum, and current form, everything points toward a comfortable home victory here.

Honestly, playing odg3+ at a place like DraftKings just isn't worth the headache—we’ve gone over this a dozen times already. Even FanDuel is being stingy with it; they’re sitting at around 1.90 for this matchup, whereas you could head over to something like BetMGM and snag 2.25 instead.

Look, I’m well aware that state lotteries can sometimes offer better odds, but since I’ve got some extra cash sitting in my DraftKings account, I figured I'd just run this through them. That said, I always make it a point to wait until we're live right before kickoff; they have a tendency to bump up the odds on the "both teams to score" market, so sometimes I’ll pivot to that instead of going with an over 2.5 goals bet just because it feels like a safer play.

Look, I’m only chiming in because I’ve seen firsthand how much worse they are compared to DraftKings when it comes to this specific issue. 😉
It’s a real problem with their live betting—if there isn't a goal scored within the first few minutes, the odds jump up like crazy (though, granted, if someone scores right away, you miss out 😁), but even before kickoff, the live lines are often better than what you'll find on the pre-game markets.

Yeah, I hear you. I definitely have a tendency to overthink things and wait too long, only to watch the goal slip right past me right when I finally decide to pull the trigger.🙄 It’s always those underdog teams where the odds on them scoring are actually much better because nobody expected them to show up.

EDIT: Just checked the live odds—Both Teams to Score is sitting at 2.10, which is identical to what you'd see for an Over 2.5 goals market in a standard lineup. To be honest, I'm not exactly thrilled with this Real Sociedad lineup; I was really hoping to see Vela leading the charge up front.

Man Utd vs Liverpool/both teams to score at 1.70

9/1/13. Liverpool FC - Manchester United 1:0
1/13/13. Manchester United - Liverpool FC 2:1
9/23/12. Liverpool FC - Manchester United 1:2
2/11/12. Manchester United - Liverpool FC 2:1
1/28/12. Liverpool FC - Manchester United 2:1
10/15/11. Liverpool FC - Manchester United 1:1
3/6/11. Liverpool FC - Manchester United 3:1
1/9/11. Manchester United - Liverpool FC 1:0
9/19/10. Manchester United - Liverpool FC 3:2
3/21/10. Manchester United - Liverpool FC 2:1

Look, if you check the stats, United hasn't managed to find the back of the net against Liverpool FC just once in their last 12 matchups, while the visitors haven't been held scoreless since their last outing over the weekend...

Kuban vs Terek

Look, Kuban is basically spiraling right now—three games without a single win under their belt. They managed one home win by a hair at 3:2, and away from home? Same story, just a gritty 1:2 win... nothing impressive about it.
Then you’ve got Terek Grozny sitting dead last. They can't find the winner to save their lives, already sitting on six losses—though, to be fair, five of those were tight one-goal nail-biters. Plus, they're facing Zilav, and man, scoring against them is like trying to punch through a brick wall... it's tough to find any space.

Honestly, if I'm Kuban, I couldn't ask for a better matchup right now. They're staring down the weakest traveling squad in the league—basically the basement dwellers. This team has been pathetic offensively, only netting three goals in nine matches, and they haven't actually beaten Kuban once... they've only managed to scrape two draws out of it.
Neither side is playing particularly great, let's be real, but if the home team is actually serious about snapping this losing streak and finally grabbing a W, this is their golden ticket.
I wouldn't go expecting some massive blowout🙄, but if Kuban pulls it off today, I’m calling it a narrow margin... history shows that 5 out of Kuban's 6 wins over Terek Grozny have been decided by just a single goal.

SSC Napoli vs U.S. Sassuolo h0:2 1@2.10
I mean, what can you even say? These guys are having one of the absolute worst starts in Major League Soccer history. They’ve been losing against the spread every single week, and now they have to head out on the road to face one of the heavyweights. I guess things just aren't going their way right now.

Zenit Saint Petersburg vs Spartak Moscow 3+ 1,83

Look, both these squads are sitting right at the top of the table, they're playing out of their minds lately, and—more importantly—they are absolutely clinical in front of the net.
It’s actually kind of rare to see these two teams walk away with just one goal in a match... usually, they’re cranking out 2, 3, or even more.
Now, Zenit’s defense has been solid at home—only let in two goals so far—but Spartak? They’ve managed to find the back of the net in every single away game they've played.
The offensive firepower is insane, but man, their defensive lines? Not so much. They’re shaky as hell and tend to give up goals way too often.
Out of Zenit's last 11 matches, they only hit the "under" twice (that 2:0 against Terek Grozny and the 1:1 with Dynamo Moscow)
Historically, when these two clash, we get a total goal fest... so I'm fully expecting the fireworks to start flying tomorrow at Petrovski Stadium.

Aston Villa vs Manchester City
Manchester City is absolutely rolling right now. After absolutely dismantling Manchester United 4-1, they went out and crushed Wigan Athletic 5-0 in the cup using a rotated squad. Looking at their recent run, they’ve pulled off 5 wins and a draw in their last 7 matches, with only one slip-up. Today, they’re heading out to face Aston Villa, who have been struggling big time lately, managing just 2 wins in their last 6 outings. It doesn't help the home side that they'll be playing without their star man Christian Benteke (5/4), along with key defender Adam Westwood (4/0) and midfielder Ola Okore (3/0). On the flip side, the visitors will be missing Silva and Agüero, which are huge blows, but let’s be real—this is still an incredibly high-quality squad that, I'll say it again, is in fantastic form.

Joe Hart; Vincent Kompany, Mats Nastasić, Branislav Ivanović; Fernandinho, Yaya Touré; Keylor Navas, Stevan Jovetić, Samir Nasri; Álvaro Negredo.

Does anyone happen to have any thoughts regarding the Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid match taking place tonight? I suppose one might wonder if Real Madrid could potentially secure a win, even though Atletico Madrid currently holds a higher position in the standings.

BetMGM just dropped the odds for the Europa League group stage placements

Even after dropping their home openers, both PSV Eindhoven and Dinamo Chicago 😲 are still sitting as the favorites to advance
PSV @1.40
Dinamo Chicago @1.60

Chernomorets Burgas @3.20 🙂
Ludogorets Razgrad @1.80

Honestly, PSV isn't even a shadow of what they were last season; they're struggling just to stay afloat in the domestic league
As for Dinamo... well, we all know how that goes

Those Eastern European clubs always bring the fight in this tournament, so it wouldn't be a shocker if one—or maybe even both—of them claw their way through

The opportunity just slipped right through our fingers. Now, the odds for the LA Galaxy have dropped to 3.20, while Shakhtar Donetsk is sitting at 1.50. I really hope you had your money on them back when they were at 3.20—that was the window you absolutely had to capitalize on.
