You’re 22 and you don't even know when your fertile window is? 😲
I guess unknown would probably just dump a bunch of links on you and tell you to use Google next time 😁 but I honestly can't be bothered 😬
Jesus, please don't go having sex until you actually learn the basics about how your own body works. And seriously, start tracking your cycle.

I know what they are. I'm just looking for some damn comfort, or at least a realistic opinion from someone.

Look, the menstrual cycle is essentially divided into fertile and infertile windows. To put it simply: when you're in your fertile window, pregnancy is a possibility; when you aren't, it isn't. Typically, those fertile days hover around the 15th day of the cycle, assuming your period starts on day one. Of course, that calculation only works if your cycle is regular—say, a standard 28-day stretch with a five-day margin of error. Even then, pinpointing the exact moment is notoriously tricky.
If you happen to be dealing with your actual period right now, the chances of conceiving are virtually non-existent. You really ought to do a bit of research on the matter; it's basic biological knowledge you should have at your fingertips...

Usually, those fertile days hit around day 15 after your period starts. You can only really track that if your cycle is regular—like a standard 28-day thing, give or take five—but even then, it’s tricky to pin down.
If you're actually on your period right now, pregnancy isn't happening. Do a little digging on this—you really should know how this works...
It's not strictly true that you can't get pregnant while on your period—it *can* happen—but those are incredibly rare outliers. Honestly, I highly doubt you're one of those statistical anomalies, so don't sweat it. Plus, a period isn't exactly a welcoming environment for sperm—it's unlikely any would survive the trip anyway (especially since there wasn't even a climax).

Oh please, you aren't pregnant, don't even stress about it... Honestly, I was in the exact same boat recently—we started out using protection, but then we decided to skip it for a bit... He finished inside me right during my fertile window too, and THANK GOD my period showed up right on time... I have never felt luckier in my life... 🙂 🙂

Honestly, I highly doubt you're the statistical outlier in this scenario, so there's no need to worry. Furthermore, the uterine environment during menstruation isn't exactly hospitable to sperm, making it unlikely that any could survive the journey, especially considering there was no climax involved.
True, but we're talking about one-in-a-million odds here...
I can only hope I fall into that one-in-a-million category. 😁

Hey, don't sweat it—you aren't pregnant. I mean, look, anything is technically possible, but your chances are basically zero unless you're just having the worst luck imaginable 😉
Getting pregnant isn't exactly a walk in the park for most women. For instance, he’s been finishing inside me right in the middle of my fertile window for two years straight, and I still haven't conceived a thing

I hear stories like that too, and I honestly can't believe them. Does anyone have a link explaining that logic? Besides, you can definitely get pregnant outside of your fertile window. Double ovulation does happen; it's not super common, but sometimes the pituitary gland stimulates a second ovary after the first one, meaning a second ovulation can occur on the other side about 6 to 10 days later. This often happens in the summer when we're getting more sun exposure or when we're feeling particularly romantic.😉
Also, ovulation timing varies wildly from person to person. Even if there's only one ovulation per month, it doesn't always happen right in the middle of the cycle; it could happen on day 20, for example. There are so many variables, but this whole "period" theory is exhausting. It feels like we can't catch a break.😢
I actually asked my OB-GYN once if it was okay to have sex during your period. I didn't get a helpful answer because she just acted disgusted, acting like it was gross and bloody, which honestly left me feeling totally embarrassed. You really never know who you're going to get working at a university clinic.🙄

Honestly, it really worries me that some of you don't quite grasp how getting pregnant during your period is actually possible.
Here is the breakdown: typically, your fertile window falls around days 13 through 17 if you have a standard 28-day cycle. But what happens if your cycle is shorter? Or if things get thrown off by stress, traveling, or being sick, causing your cycle to shorten to, say, 23 or 24 days? In that case, your fertile window starts much earlier—around day 8 or 9. If you happen to have sex on the 3rd or 4th day of your period and he finishes inside, you have to factor in that sperm can survive for 3 to 5 days (and there are definitely documented cases of them hanging around for up to 7 days!). When you add all that up, it’s entirely possible for sperm to stay alive and just "wait out" the clock until your fertile window opens. Even if you were being super careful with a condom, you end up left wondering, "Wait, how did I actually get pregnant?"
It’s especially true for women with shorter cycles; the shorter your cycle, the higher your chances of conceiving from sex during your period.
Personally, I don't do it. Call me old-fashioned or whatever you want, but that’s just not the time for it. Why? Because those are her days for cleaning out, shedding, and all the biological prep work required for the other 24 days of regular intimacy!🙂)) And besides, it’s only 3 or 4 days; it’s easy enough to hold off. Plus, I have to admit, I absolutely love what happens after those few days of abstinence—we get so worked up that we basically tear each other apart, and honestly, it ends up being our best sex every single time.🙂 It's almost like a ritualistic reset.🙂

Karen Ross98 said:Plus, this was my first time. I got my period at 4 PM, but we had unprotected sex at 4 AM and it went on for a while—though he didn't finish inside me. I went to see a gynecologist who basically interrogated me with weird questions about small towns in the Midwest and looked at me like I was some kind of degenerate. He wanted to know when my cycle starts, but I lied because I haven't been tracking it closely lately. Usually, it's about a 30-day cycle. Honestly, out of pure embarrassment, I just told him we used a condom and it broke, rather than admitting we went without one and he didn't finish inside. He told me not to start the pill yet because it might mess with my period. He just said to come back once my period ends. I don't know what to do or what the actual chances of getting pregnant are... I'm in total shock, I can't even think straight, and I'm just dying for my period to be over so I can finally take a pregnancy test......
🙂 😢 😢 😢
The timing doesn't really matter... but if you're in those last two days, you could definitely get pregnant. I've been there, done that, and I have two kids now, haha. My period lasted through those last two days too.

Is your cycle super short?
Honestly, nobody cares about the first two days when it comes to intimacy... by day three, my libido is through the ceiling. 😕It’s like my body just wakes up.🤷
