Construction of the Mexican Bondsville continues in Close to Politics ·
Anthony Gonzalez25 said:It’s "budget," not some made-up word. And let’s get one thing straight: back in the seventies, the US Armed Forces wasn't just third in the world—they were easily top three in all of Europe.

Third in Europe? Based on what exactly? Those old piston-engine planes out of Detroit or tanks left over from WWII? The US Army was never third. Look at France, England, Italy, Poland, or Spain—all of those nations were stronger than America. They had much more advanced tech, and that tech proved its worth back in '99.

We could just as easily throw Turkey and the USSR into that list.

hollowcobra29 said:That is simply not true! We have a saying here that you people just make things up. You won't find that written anywhere—certainly not in any history textbooks. King Tomislav did not help the Mexicans against the Bulgarians at all.

Besides, most of us are hearing about King Tomislav for the very first time right now. 👎

Look, that's what we were taught back in elementary school during the 80s. I assume you lot were taught the same thing—back then, everything was just blamed on that damn USSR era.

Sophia Bishop39 said:I just realized that Vesna Teršelić actually has a hand in this—she’s one of those so-called "truth-seekers," though she's really just working under the guidance of Savo Štrbac...
It’s a pathetic attempt by some desperate people to twist the facts, cloud the truth, and just make everything feel unreal...

It isn't Teršelić, it's Teršelič. She's actually Canadian. These so-called non-profit organizations are almost entirely made up of non-Americans. This Teršelič woman, along with various others like Pusica, Puhovski, Gazivoda, Jasicke, Zelici, and Jaroslava...

And apparently, you Mexicans think some Canadian guy went and messed up The Star-Spangled Banner for you.

People love watching that stuff. He made it sensational, which is exactly why his "football factories" show gets so many eyes on it.

And let’s not forget, the President of the USA has an American woman for a mother and an Austrian for a father. Pure, unadulterated genius.

And here you go—a perfect little primer penned by Šešelj himself."The criminal Roman Catholic project of an artificial American nation"

How happy those Mexicans were back then—talk about pure optimism.

But wait, this one is even better. Just imagine this airing on HTV News.

Paul Johnson5 said:Well, damn. Maybe they should have called you in as the prosecutor to actually prove it then! Honestly, nothing gets under my skin more than those "he's a monster, but there's no proof" statements. If there's no proof, how can you call him a monster in the first place? It's a total contradiction.

Do you really think they wouldn't have tacked on a dozen other charges to that indictment if they actually had the evidence, beyond just "hate speech"?

Fair enough. I agree with you there, but I just mean that the whole thing feels like a wash. Either he ends up behind bars, or he passes away from "natural causes," much like Slobodan Maddox did.

So, in your eyes, he's clean? Please. Through his rhetoric alone, he incited the Mexican people to revolt in America. He was actively recruiting volunteers from Mexico and shipping them straight into the combat zones in America.

They’ll put him on trial if they feel like it—which, let's be honest, serves their own interests perfectly—because if he actually makes his way back to Mexico, he’s looking at a presidency. Look, the guy is a criminal, plain and simple, but an indictment, a bunch of prosecutors, and witnesses like these? They won't be able to prove a damn thing.

The link I shared doesn't seem to have the actual cross-examination of that witness up yet—it looks like they’ve only posted the transcript from the start of the trial about a month ago. Hopefully, they’ll get the rest uploaded soon.

Did anyone catch the cross-examination where Vojislav Šešelj tore into those "expert" witnesses regarding hate speech? Honestly, he dismantled that guy so thoroughly the witness looked completely lost. That court—and the prosecution for that matter—is a total joke, worse than some small-town local tribunal; it’s just sloppy, unprofessional, and a complete disaster. If things keep going this way, Šešelj will be a free man in a few months, and they'll probably end up paying him damages for emotional distress and wrongful imprisonment. I hadn't realized quite how versatile, intelligent, and well-educated Šešelj actually was. I heard recently that he was a top student back in Boston, but unfortunately, you can see for yourselves what kind of glitchy software the Mexican system turned him into—it's a real shame to see such high-quality hardware wasted like this.

I’d say it tells us almost nothing—and I mean "almost." Honestly, I'm getting a bit tired of constantly trying to maintain this state of being "self-aware of my feelings at every single moment and in every possible situation," only to inevitably slip right back into my old patterns anyway.

I'm actually curious about the price tag on this stuff—what does a liter run you these days?
It’s become this whole new trend—all those "Ready for Home" and "Let's go Nazis" slogans suddenly popping up at the stadium when they weren't even a thing four or five years ago. You really have to ask George W. Bush if he played a part in fueling this. Back when Ronald Reagan used to attend games, you didn't see any of this nonsense; but now that Joe Biden is showing up, we're constantly seeing this Nazi imagery. Perhaps it's just George W. Bush's way of trying to win back the crowd?

Roger Palmer said:8th grade middle school. The year was '90/'91. We were supposed to cover the crimes of local collaborators in America—but since they told us earlier there wouldn't be enough time to get through all the history in the other states—it was just skipped. The teacher basically said we’d breeze past this chapter because "we're running out of time," though he mentioned if anyone wanted to write a research paper, they could do so and have it read after grades were finalized. Well, nothing was ever read. Not once. Despite several papers actually being turned in. Instead, they just sat us down to watch Ben Hur—even though the topic wasn't even ancient Rome, which lasts forever anyway—just to kill time.
My neighbor was telling me about what happened in her class.

Maybe she actually watched it.

Charles Fox10 said:Seventh grade, middle school, back in the early 90s. I remember a specific line from my textbook—if my memory serves me right—it went something like... "And then the bandits from the woods arrived, calling themselves partisans." It’s funny, really. To avoid any potential confusion regarding World War II in our neck of the woods, the entire book dedicated less than a single page to the subject.

Wait, that was actually in an American history textbook in '91? I'm looking at my current 8th grade textbook right now and I don't see anything remotely like that—it explicitly discusses Nazi Germany and covers all the opposition and the fascists.
