Hellboy in Movies ·
minja said:If you were a fan of Van Helsing, you'll probably dig Hellboy too.

Good grief. 😲 🙂

It seems Hollywood has finally found its foolproof blueprint: cranking out big-budget junk based on legendary comic books. 🙄

Well, I suppose it might be worth a couple of bucks just to see how they mess this one up. 🤔

P. S: I don't consider X-Men to be in that category. 😛

Beer is actually a pretty solid source of Vitamin B. 👍 😁
I've been using Beloderm ointment and Claritin, and since I'm pretty new to this 🙂...
After just a day and a half, the redness has almost completely cleared up. 👋
Andrew Taylor31 said:You might have some Nivea, but not the roll-on version. There’s another kind—it’s small too, but instead of being liquid, it's a solid stick, and it's alcohol-free.

I used to deal with those same issues, but ever since I switched to this, everything has been fine. As far as I know, they offer two different types.

By the way, if you're getting those kinds of reactions, it's most likely the alcohol in the formula that's bothering you.

Right... 🙂the roll-ons don't have any alcohol in them.
Exactly, that’s the reaction I get—it starts out feeling dry and itchy, and then it just starts chafing. Sometimes it even gets that stinging sensation whenever you move. 🙄
I picked up the Nivea roll-on for men 😉 which promises 24-hour dryness and comfort. At first, I was impressed—it actually kept the sweat down and had a subtle, non-intrusive scent. But after using it for a month, things took a turn for the worse.

Redness, stinging, itching, irritated skin... I’ve been trying to soothe it with various creams. 😳 🙄 😠

I stopped using it and the irritation subsided slightly, but my curiosity got the better of me. I wanted to confirm if the roll-on was truly the culprit, so I applied it one more time. It flared up twice as bad as before. 😢
It's feeling okay now, and it seems to be clearing up without needing a doctor, but I'm left wondering why this happened. Does anyone here have any idea what could cause a reaction like this? I'm genuinely stumped. It isn't a matter of poor hygiene; I stay clean. Interestingly, when I use the Nivea deodorant with the exact same scent and claims, I don't get a reaction—in fact, it almost seems to soothe the inflammation. I heard there's some powder in the formula, maybe that helps. 🤔

Has anyone else dealt with something similar, and if so, what caused it?

I caught it—it’s solid. It leans a bit too hard on dramatic shots, you know, all that shaky cam and constant zooming, and there were a few plot holes they just didn't bother explaining. They kept lingering on scars in almost every shot, implying they carry weight, but we’re left totally in the dark about what actually happened to cause them. It also could have used a tighter edit; it felt a little long 🙄
.
Still, despite those gripes—it's good. It really sticks with you. 👍
Garfield in Movies ·
lonemarlin40 said:It’s decent. 🙂
Garfield is good, which actually surprised me. He’s better than I expected—and I wasn't expecting much to begin with. 😁

.........

Garfield himself is fine. The movie could have been stronger, but it works. As for Bill Murray playing Garfield, he's perfectly fine. 🙂

Luckily, I didn't watch the dubbed version.

I agree 🙂. It’s a solid choice if you just want to unwind and have a laugh 👍
Underworld in Movies ·
Not really. She’s actually much better looking than Trinity 😁

But look, lonefox373, it’s an action flick meant for entertainment, not a deep philosophical study! If you're overanalyzing every frame, that sounds more like your own issue than a flaw in the movie 😉

Look, seriously, there’s been zero mention of this 🤔

Has it finally hit the video stores yet?
I caught it in theaters, and honestly, it was alright. Good enough for a distraction. 👍

I’ve been thinking the same thing... after sitting through that ridiculous Freddy vs. Jason nonsense, I’m actually craving a real, proper Freddy Krueger horror flick.🙂

It’s not exactly a masterpiece, but I’d give it a solid seven. Like Robert Cooper41 said, it’s a perfectly fine watch.

It’s a shame that kid didn't manage to snag that lollipop Elizabeth Berkley tossed his way at the bar. 😁

Yeah, I'm with you on that. 👍
A quote from another thread:

Douglas Phillips4 said:He’s an absolute legend. 👍 All that rambling of his isn't just noise; half the time, he actually hits the nail on the head. It’s just that women aren't exactly ready to hear the cold, hard truth. 🙄

It looks much better when it's wrapped in cellophane with a little bow. Or, honestly, don't serve it at all.
My only real gripe is the poor quality of this DVD release. The audio is strictly stereo and sounds pretty muddy; while the music comes through clearly in certain spots, the dialogue often gets lost in the mix. The picture isn't much better—the compression in the darker scenes is an absolute disaster. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I figured I should mention it. 🙂

briskjackal5 said:Total nonsense. This is probably one of the most ridiculous complaints anyone has ever leveled at this movie.
I can't think of a SINGLE film with characters this vivid and well-defined, both in their actions and their dialogue. [/B]

Well, to each their own. Personally, I found the characters thin, hollow, and frankly uninteresting. None of them were properly developed because there simply wasn't enough time—everything just revolved around Achilles. You catch a glimpse of some character growth toward the end of the films, maybe with the king or Odysseus (who you don't even know the name of for three-quarters of the movie 😕), but the vast majority? Zero points. That includes Achilles' closest friends and allies, who barely get five seconds of screen time. They're supposed to be great warriors, and without them, the Greeks couldn't launch an attack—but why should we care about them if we haven't even met them? The issue is that by then, it was too late to weave these mythological figures into the plot. It’s such a slog that I wouldn't watch 🙄 again just to try and fix that impression.

I mean, come on, surely he didn't lose his mind over Patroclus's death just because his cousin 😬
was such a little 😂

Haha, well, not for everyone. Personally, I find it quite intriguing—seeing how these myths were portrayed as things that could actually have originated, long before people started claiming an elephant evolved from a puff of smoke 👍

Regardless, my overall impression on a scale of 1-5 lands somewhere around a 2 🤔

Mandrili-ti, why are you getting so worked up? If you enjoyed it, fine, but if we didn't, that's just how it is 🙂
even if this
There were some really great moments. Honestly, the snacks were the highlight—mostly because I was starving. The champagne was decent enough, and the wine—some Pinot—was passable.

It definitely improved my impression 😬

P. S. You've basically explained why critics praise certain films while trashing others. It's all about the presentation 😂

hmmm... I thought I’d drop by to share some thoughts, and it looks like Richard Hernandez13 saw and felt pretty much the exact same thing I did 👍

folks, don't waste $10 on a movie ticket—you're much better off grabbing some burgers instead 🙂

By the way, what exactly is a "news segment"? 😕

I'm heading out today... I've been skeptical this whole time, and despite how much silentpilot6 is raving about it, I'm staying just as cautious 🤔

Look, it's not that I don't trust you, but I'll be back here tomorrow to post my actual impressions 😎
