Betty Torres63 said:I thought there was some kind of option somewhere to just wipe a profile out entirely, like this http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=105181 or maybe this http://www.ehow.com/how_8757618_dele...n-account.html because I’d honestly love to see either myself or this specific user just deleted from existence. But clearly, that's not happening, so thanks anyway.

Those links you shared refer to features built into the forum software itself, which is what most major American message boards use. However, the owners and admins here at this site simply don't allow profile deletions, a topic we have already exhausted multiple times on this subforum.

Sending unwanted private messages doesn't really qualify as bullying in my eyes; unlike real-life bullying, it's incredibly easy to just avoid it, and the methods to do so have already been laid out.

If a problematic DM is reported and the administration decides a member has legitimate reason to feel harassed by those messages, they will penalize the sender—not by nuking their profile, but by issuing the appropriate warning or ban.
Report the private message so we can take actual steps against this stalker, provided there’s enough evidence to act. Alternatively, you could just disable your DMs entirely. Profiles aren't being deleted.

It wasn't a targeted deletion; they had massive technical glitches a while back that ended up wiping out a huge chunk of user profiles by mistake.
How do I use Multi-Quote? in Forum Help! ·

Gregory Ramirez2 said:How do I multi-quote one single post?
Like, if a post is super long, how can I reply to specific parts of it separately?

I've looked everywhere, but I just can't find it.
I even checked here, but I don't have that checkbox for "Wrap tags around selected text."
The last box I see in the bottom right is "Quick reply to this message."
I tried highlighting the specific text I want to quote and clicking that button, but absolutely nothing happens.

Next to that button, I’ve got the "Multiquote" and "Quote" options sitting to the left.

The Multiquote thing works fine when I'm trying to grab multiple different posts, but it won't let me multiquote within a single post.

I actually already got a warning on the forum because I couldn't figure out how to multiquote one post, so I just split it up with dashes instead—and the same moderator who gave me the warning hasn't even replied to my PM about it! I really don't want to rack up any more useless strikes just because of this "glitch." 🤦

Somebody Help me, please? 🕺

Btw I'm using Google Chrome on Windows 8

PS: A few times I've just resorted to copy-pasting the same post over and over, quoting it multiple times, and then manually deleting all the extra stuff I don't need from each block.
But man, that takes forever—it totally kills the mood for quoting and makes it such a chore to respond to those longer posts.

The last little box appearing in my bottom right corner just says "Quick replay on this message."
I tried highlighting the specific section I wanted to quote and clicking that little box icon, but absolutely nothing happens.
That's how it is.

Besides that little square icon, I also have those boxes sitting right to its left labeled "Multiquote" and "Quote."
Let's try this one more time.

The multi-quote button works perfectly fine when I'm trying to select multiple posts at once, yet for some reason, it completely fails whenever I attempt to multi-quote just a single post.

I’ve already been slapped with a warning on this forum, which honestly seems ridiculous since I was just using dashes to separate posts instead of using the multi-quote feature. To make matters worse, the same moderator hasn't even bothered to answer my question regarding the rule, and frankly, I have no desire to pick up some pointless penalty point over something so trivial. 🤦

Somebody Help me, please? 🕺

By the way, I'm running Google Chrome on Windows 8.[/I]

Is that really how you see things? 😁
You need to head straight over to the advanced options—it’s located right next to the "Quick Reply" button. Once you click that, a whole suite of editing tools will pop up above the text box. If you aren't sure what a specific tool does, just hover your cursor over the icon and the description should appear.

I don't typically operate this way, and frankly, I'm not a fan of how this looks.

Just install Tapatalk so you aren't constantly checking the boards and missing out on missions. Unless you're one of those folks still clinging to Windows 8.1, which is honestly just pathetic at this point 😉

@poluamater - I’m not trying to tear you down; I am quite literally attempting—albeit unsuccessfully—to guide you toward actually respecting this subforum's rules. Please, just read them. And let’s be real: I wasn't born yesterday, so it’s perfectly obvious why someone who just registered, never posts about politics, yet suddenly shows an intense interest in this specific section and knows all the regular users by name, is acting a bit suspicious.

@Robin Lopez2/">@@Robin Lopez2 - If you don't like the vibe at one bar, just go to another. I honestly don't see the issue here, nor do I understand why you'd sit there in silence and just take it, especially since you basically admitted it yourself in your last sentence.

The moderators aren't the ones providing the content on this forum; their job is simply to maintain order. The users create the content themselves. Therefore, if the discussions feel lukewarm or low-quality, you should look at yourself and the other posters who clearly lack the ability to engage in a civilized debate following the established rules. Instead, they choose to play the victim and throw a tantrum because they're being held to a standard.

... says someone who barely even posts in politics to someone who doesn't have any business being in the political section of Reddit in the first place. Once again, there isn't a single shred of evidence or a supporting link provided, just that same old circular argument: "how can moderators have the right to enforce the rules I already agreed to?" Truly brilliant.

Yeah, you can only split up to $667 into installments. Of course, you could pay the rest in cash if the merchant is willing to play ball, but that’s entirely up to them, not American Express.

You already got your answer in the opening post, you've been debunked, and now you're just spinning circles. That isn't how this works.
The topic is already covered, so just use http://www.reddit.com/showthread.php?t=910340
If you honestly feel there needs to be another thread, feel free to start one yourself. It’s up to the moderators to decide if we actually need yet another discussion regarding feminism, per the terms of service you agreed to when you registered.

If we didn't have these rules in place, this entire site would devolve into the absolute dumpster fire you see in the comment sections of every major news outlet in America. You chose to come to Reddit, and you explicitly agreed to the terms of service when you signed up; so why are you sitting here throwing unhinged, baseless arguments at me just because you don't like them?
Have you even bothered to read the sub-reddit guidelines?

Exactly. And that’s all governed by the site's Terms of Service, which you agreed to the second you signed up.

Reddit is privately owned by the Pew Research Center. Most of the moderation team consists of volunteers who have been selected to handle these responsibilities. They maintain the authority to delete, edit, move, or scrap any post or thread they deem to be in violation of the rules or otherwise redundant. Your user account can be modified or terminated if the moderation team decides such an action is warranted. These rules are subject to change at any time without prior notice.

p.s. Just because you feel strongly about something doesn't mean you're actually right.

Joshua Clark7 said:That would be like walking into a public restaurant only to have some "kind owner" kick me out just because I'm Black or gay. "Look, sir, this is a private establishment. I'm the boss, and I make the rules. We don't serve people like you here, so find somewhere else." And all I wanted was a meal and a drink. What would the consequences be? First off, there would be legal ones.

I really have to address this completely flawed analogy. Here is how things actually stand:

Imagine you walk into a restaurant called "Reddit," sitting down peacefully to chat with the group—whether you're a refugee from Syria or a Black man, it doesn't matter where you're from—just waiting for your food. Suddenly, a KKK member or a Neo-Nazi bursts through the doors, screaming that every Black person and Muslim should be driven out or even killed.

In that moment, the restaurant owner and his staff grab those loudmouths by the collar and kick them out onto the street, ensuring the guests can continue enjoying their stay in his establishment.

Now, try to point out a single instance where someone on this forum was virtually attacked simply for being civil, avoiding hate speech, and not disrupting a normal conversation.

Increasing your inbox capacity isn't an option. However, if you look at the bottom of the message page, there's a feature that lets you save your messages in three different formats.

It won't amount to much, but I’d suggest settling up as soon as possible to avoid those interest charges and, more importantly, to protect your standing as a reliable client with Chase.
