Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’m guessing there might be someone here who actually knows their stuff or has some insight, so I figured I’d just ask...
Does it actually matter for the baby's health if the father is dealing with this illness? Like, is there any chance of complications or birth defects because of the medication he's taking?

Everything you need for a Midwest wedding in Weddings ·
Around my neck of the woods—we’re talking the Midwest area, local folks only—we don't really do that whole "bride sale" thing. I always figured that was more of a tradition from over in Canada, though I heard from a friend near Slavonski Brod that they do it there too. Basically, at midnight, the maid of honor takes off the bride's veil or whatever headpiece she's wearing, puts it on a tray, and then sits there with it in her lap. Then they put a scarf on her head—well, lately people just wrap it around her neck—which is supposed to signal she isn't a girl anymore, but a woman. It's because back in the day, once women married, they started wearing scarves. After that, guests line up to put money on the tray or leave gifts on a special table, and then you have the male guests dancing with the bride and the female guests with the groom. We don't do that thing where you gift the groom's family, and we definitely don't announce out loud who bought what or how much they gave. Oh, and another custom that's sadly dying out is when the guys all get together and beat the groom with their belts. It was like some kind of lesson so he'd know what to expect if he wasn't good to his wife. Obviously, nowadays it's mostly symbolic, but back then, they used to leave some pretty serious bruises. 🙂

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here is actually from the Požega area? I’ve been looking at hosting the wedding at Stanišić Villa, Schon blick, or maybe that Fisherman's House in Lukač. It's still a bit early for me to pull the trigger on a reservation, so if anyone here knows anything about their pricing or what's actually included in the package, I'd love to know. Or even suggest another spot like that—a hotel or a restaurant. That Grgin Dol place looks kind of tacky to me because of those dark orange walls... I mean, how am I supposed to coordinate a two-tone wedding with orange? It's just... meh. Maybe they repainted? The photo I saw online is from two years ago.

Cannibal Holocaust
between the rapes, people getting impaled on stakes, and literally burying folks alive until they're stuffed with dirt... it's just brutal. and the crazy part? they actually filmed it to look totally real. 👍

Barbarella
man, that one scene where those kids let loose dolls with metal teeth on some half-naked beauty tied up... ugh. just a nasty childhood memory for me.

Cannibal Holocaust
I mean, seriously... the rape, the impalement, people literally burying someone alive until they hit their guts—it’s all over the place. And the crazy part? They actually marketed it as being real footage. 👍

Found some mold :( in Health ·
Hey, don't get all worked up, you’re really not going to die or anything. I mean, I’ve honestly eaten moldy stuff several times myself. Okay, fine, it was just some bread, but whatever. And that whole thing with the jam... 🤣 👍
My hands are itchy in Health ·
My forearms start itching like crazy whenever I eat something I'm allergic to. You should probably get tested.

Is anyone else dealing with joint pain? I don't know, maybe it’s something like typhus? You should probably try looking it up on Google.

I get that bloating too (and my chest feels heavy 😎 ) a few days before, and honestly, I look terrible. And don't even get me started on French fries!!!!! The bloating, the gas... it's just a total disaster. 👎 I don't even touch them anymore.
How big is the gut? in Health ·
Are we talking about abdominal volume or stomach capacity?
If you mean the abdomen, I guess you're basically looking at all your guts and organs collectively 🤣
But the stomach... well, once it processes food and moves everything along to the intestines, it should be empty, right? And yeah, it's elastic, that's true. If you're always eating huge meals and then suddenly cut back, you'll definitely feel that emptiness—like you "need" to eat more just to feel normal. At least, that's how it works for me. 🙂
How do I send a text? in Health ·
Since everyone else is just talking nonsense here, I might as well jump in too.
Fasting is definitely not the answer!
Cutting out specific foods isn't it either.
The whole thing is just about eating normally without overdoing it, you know? Like, avoiding those massive portions.
Three meals a day, maybe some fruit in between.
Load up on veggies during your meals.
And get plenty of exercise.
Has anyone actually read that study where they found that short bursts of sprinting—like 60 seconds—followed by walking is way more effective than just jogging for half an hour?
So, I guess you don't need to label certain foods as "unhealthy" and ban them; it's more about how you prep them. I mean, boiled chicken and something deep-fried in oil aren't exactly the same thing, right? Or what you pair them with. A steak with potatoes and bread is a heavy combo, whereas boiled meat with a salad is actually great.
I also read in this one book that since lunch is usually your biggest meal, it’s probably good to wait a few hours before having anything else, just to let your stomach do its job in peace.
There's this book called "The Weight Loss Diet" by Isabelle Martin that's pretty interesting. It's got a lot of fluff in it, but I liked the parts about food combinations and using different spices or veggies to help stop the body from holding onto extra fat.
Anyway, that's all I've got.
Good luck! 👍
Nathan Peterson11 said:Look, stop scaring her. You guys are acting like she’s going to end up in the ER just because she eats a few pounds of cherries. A little detox never hurt anybody.
(Though, honestly, if you dive into it too fast, it can mess with your stomach. It's better to stick to liquids—water, tea, maybe some all-natural juice without any added sugar—for a day or two first. That way, your system is actually ready for the sudden jump to raw fruits and veggies.
I dropped 5 pounds in about twenty days (and yeah, losing three pounds in three days would probably be overkill), mostly by sticking to raw produce. I did allow myself some whole-grain bread—nothing more than half a pound a week—and maybe two or three eggs here and there. I felt fantastic. They say the trick is eating just one type of fruit per meal. No additives, and absolutely zero sugar—not even in lemonade—because that just causes bloating. I ate as much as I could handle. Even bananas, which people claim make you fat? Please. Bananas make you fat if you're eating them with ice cream. If you're just eating fruit and vegetables, they won't.
Just make sure you wash that fruit thoroughly. Some people suggest soaking it in salt water for at least half an hour to help pull out those pesticides.

Okay, so you lost 11 pounds, but what I actually want to know is, did any of that "stubborn fat" actually melt away (if you even had any)?
What should I get for a godparent gift at a Baptism? in Students & Teens ·
1. So, I mean... I know that things like baptism, communion, and confirmation are religious sacraments.
2. Honestly, if a kid is basically just counting down the days until they get some massive, expensive gift for their confirmation, then what’s even the point? It feels totally hollow. Like, they haven't actually learned anything about faith at all—and I'm assuming we're talking about Catholics here since that's the vibe—because, you know, the whole Catholic thing is supposed to be about love, respect, being humble, and all that stuff. (And look, I know there are priests out there who don't exactly walk the walk, but whatever, I'm sticking to what Jesus actually taught.) If they haven't even grasped the basics, why are they even going through the motions of a confirmation in the first place?
3. I remember getting this gold bracelet when I was younger. I still treasure it, even though I don't really wear it because I've never been a fan of yellow gold. And when it came time to pick a godmother, I chose someone just because she was a great person and I genuinely liked her, not because of whatever money or status she had.
I thought the movie was actually pretty great, though I guess I’m getting a bit tired of all these films featuring half-crazed characters who just imagine things. I'm not saying they aren't good—some are honestly amazing—but they all end up following the exact same pattern, you know? Like, oh look, this guy is actually a fantasy. It's always some "sixth sense" or "genius intellect" nonsense. Anyway, even with the slow pacing, this was still better than something like the American version of Descent. Just constant screaming, women in peril, darkness, monsters... it's all kind of pointless...

I just can't wrap my head around how that woman managed to turn around in that tiny tunnel to help the other one who got stuck? It's physically impossible!

Tupperware is the absolute goat. I’ve been using their plastic cups, forks, spoons, and knives for over five years now, and honestly, everything still looks brand new. Even the knives—they actually cut better than my metal ones. Their fruit bowls and dough proofing containers are awesome too, though I gotta say, the bread box design is kind of pointless.

As for Avon and Oriflame, they're alright. Avon has some good hypoallergenic stuff that doesn't break the bank, and with Oriflame, you sometimes catch certain products before they even hit the regular retail stores.

Amway makes decent products, but most people I know who get into it are total weirdos. My best friend got sucked into that whole thing a few years back. She even went to those ridiculous weekend seminars where you have to pay $167, and then you're stuck finding your own place to sleep. They were seriously brainwashed. Everyone was so convinced they were going to strike it rich. I remember once I was sitting there listening to them drone on about their whole pitch—you know, the pyramid scheme nonsense—and they asked if I understood everything. When I told them yeah, I totally get how it works, everyone looked stunned... like I had just explained the physics of an atomic bomb or something. It’s not that I’m some genius, it's just that they've been so heavily indoctrinated that they think it's this groundbreaking, complex secret. Now, if I even mention Amway to her, she just waves me off and refuses to talk about it. 🤣

How do I become an early bird? in Health ·
My body just won't let me stay in bed longer than 8 hours. I mean, if I try, everything just starts aching. And honestly, the worst part is that by 10 PM, I'm already completely wiped out. So, I usually roll out of bed around 7 AM and just blink a few times... I guess if my eyes aren't stinging by then, it's officially time to get up and face the day.
