Honestly, guys, I don't know about you, but I caught a sneak peek at the AMC last week and I was absolutely terrified—I mean, seriously, I almost died!
Maybe the fact that the theater was basically empty didn't help the vibe, but still... total SHOCK!
Honestly, I’m feeling a little lost here. I want to see Lenny Kravitz so incredibly much, but none of my friends are planning on going. 😢 It makes me feel pretty bummed out thinking about heading to the show all by myself. Is there anyone else from this group who's going that I could tag along with? :trepćeumiljato:

He loves his father and his home cooking...
He loves his wife and his kid...
He loves his brother...
He loves his people...
...
and the people love him back...
Hector is basically the prince of integrity.
😂 I am actually dying here
And honestly, I don't get why everyone keeps saying Odysseus isn't working in this movie. To me, he feels totally realistic and level-headed. I mean, what did they want? For him to be some wise old sage leading a council of elders? He’s just there when he needs to step in between Agamemnon and Achilles, dropping a few deep lines at the start and end of the film. That's plenty for him.
I feel the same way about the camera work—it’s a little off to me too. At times, though, it almost feels like they skipped the color grading entirely, giving it this really raw, unpolished look.
That said, I absolutely loved the tension building up right before that final Trojan assault on the Greeks. That pre-dawn scene where everything is still pitch black and they’re marching straight into battle? It was incredible.🙂
I watched it yesterday and honestly, I don't even feel like writing much, so I'll just say I'm totally on board with what silentpilot6 said. Well, except for that little part where he was rambling about adult movies. Actually, looking back, even there, I agree.
I had a blast at the theater! It was such good entertainment, though I have to admit, Pitt completely outshone everyone else by playing Achilles as this narcissistic, delusional quarterback prima donna type 😬
I think I gave up on going to the cinema a long time ago. I just can't deal with paying for tickets and snacks only to walk out of a dark theater two hours later hunting for historical inaccuracies, moronic dialogue, or a total lack of soul in the film. These days, I've become one of those positive people who, if they go to the movies—and I actually go quite often—comes home feeling genuinely happy.
Amy Martinez5 So, get this—when I was little, people used to tell me that sausages were made out of nothing but greasy chicken thighs and pig scraps😁 , and honestly, after hearing that, I could practically taste the grossness flying out of my mouth!😛
Meanwhile, my grandma used to swear that pâté was actually made from ground-up cats😲 but hey, I ate it all anyway, so clearly I had no standards!🙂
Honestly, I’d love nothing more than to have a piece of gum in my mouth 24/7, but my jaw just can't take it anymore! It gets to the point where I feel a headache coming on, so I have to force myself to stop constantly popping pieces in. I'm honestly at my absolute worst when I buy those Hubba Bubba packs—I start blowing these massive bubbles in public and just can't help myself! 🎉
Oh man, that sounds rough... I can't really offer you any concrete medical advice, but a close friend of mine went through something almost identical. She was perfectly fine her whole life—even through high school—and then suddenly, out of nowhere, she’d lose her breath, collapse on the floor, and pass out. We were basically trying to bring her back to life. She saw doctors and went through a hundred different tests, but nobody could agree on anything; one doctor would say it was just allergies, another would swear it was asthma, and while they were all busy arguing, she’d have another choking episode at least once a week. It was terrifying for her; she was scared to go to class, scared to sleep—honestly, she was scared to live. Eventually, they prescribed her an inhaler, and even now, three years later, she still doesn't truly know what's wrong with her. She just uses her inhaler quickly as soon as she feels an attack coming on so she doesn't suffocate. It's just crazy.
I'm curious about one thing... how often does Jennifer Garner actually get nominated for her roles? And wow, it’s honestly a miracle that Nova TV didn't jump on this first... at least we won't be stuck watching a mountain of commercials, right?
My friend and I are heading to Broadway this Wednesday to catch $6.75 because hitting up two movies back-to-back has become our absolute tradition. Honestly, I only ever bother going to AMC if there’s a specific film they aren't showing at Broadway. The only real perk of AMC is the free parking garage, but really, everything else is either the same or just worse. Oh, and don't even get me started on the drinks—AMC doesn't even carry Sprite, just that mediocre 7Up. 🙄 Plus, ever since they opened, they've been advertising those preview screenings, yet they still haven't actually started them.
I had such a blast watching this movie! I found myself laughing out loud more than a few times, especially during that scene where "the guy who isn't Will Smith" (okay, fine, my brain totally short-circuited there) starts explaining his sexual issues while the camera captures everything, broadcasting it live to every TV in the local dive bar for the whole crowd to enjoy...
Kimberly Gomez28 said:So, basically, a producer is just like an executive who doesn't have any direct creative hand in the movie, they just approve things and manage the budget (aka the cash) used to shoot it?
Not really, though! Honestly, producers often have a massive—sometimes even overwhelming—influence on both the script and the directing, especially when there's a major Hollywood studio backing them. You constantly hear stories during production about huge clashes between directors and producers. If you're just a young, unproven director trying to get your big break, there's a very high chance that what actually ends up on screen won't be your vision at all, but rather the producer's vision. Even if you've got a recognizable name, it doesn't mean you'll have total creative freedom... at the end of the day, the studios are focused on the bottom line and making sure they turn a profit.
