that’s just your version of the story, isn't it?
but hey, since you seem to be enjoying playing the part of a Black man living under apartheid, who am I to go shattering your little delusions with something as incredibly trivial as objectivity

That whole "right to appeal" thing sounds incredibly bloated, especially since nobody ever bothers to mention how that right actually gets used in practice
As far as I’m concerned, the partial ban stays on the books, though Tyndall is free to step up and offer a second chance if he feels like it
Alright, I’ve gone through all the posts, and honestly, I’m just sitting here scratching my head because I have absolutely no clue why you haven't been banned yet.
The moderator must have been in an exceptionally good mood when they saw it.

Look, I don't know about you all, but if you ask me, it’s at the very least entertaining enough

Anyone with half a brain would have realized there’s already a thread for this

Yeah, let's be honest, the rules are pretty mindless...
I mean, have you actually sat down and argued with anyone since you signed up back in 2007??
And if someone were to just go ahead and wipe out all those posts of yours right now, what would happen to everyone else's entire conversation?? It’d just look like a bunch of people shouting into a void.
Besides, what does "deactivating" even mean in this context??
You set up the account yourself, and you shut it down yourself—you stop logging in, you walk away, you pass on, you vanish into thin air... that's about it.

Given how massive this whole mess has become, I’ve actually suggested to the moderators that they need to tighten the reins on this thread and start handing out direct bans instead of just giving people warnings
The sheer amount of trolling and insults buried under all these posts isn't exactly something the authors should be proud of, nor is it what this forum needs, especially when we could be having actual, high-quality discussions

I guess I’ve finally given you the answer you were looking for
now, whether you actually want to keep playing this game is entirely up to you, and honestly, if this little drama is going to drag on until the end of time remains to be seen

Can someone please drop the link here, you wonderful people?

The last thing we need on this platform is some "chat" thread, or as Eric Collins5 would call it—a dedicated space just for trolling.
🙂

(as if he doesn't do that with every single one of them)

Look, if the Church functions as an organization and spends its time actively committing or covering up crimes, then by definition, it’s just a criminal enterprise.
lastan didn't actually say a single thing against believers, let alone Christians specifically, but rather against the institution itself, and he backed it up with actual logic.
There aren't going to be any red cards or governors stepping in to stop this conversation.

Michelle Palmer6 said:I would really love to moderate formal debate. It honestly seems like such a super cool, urban, and totally worthwhile PDF section. 🙂

Actually, if you look closely, that PDF is basically just a gauge for how much our users on Reddit actually have to say about anything at all.

😂

Your tactics are all wrong, man. You have to be subtle. Devious. You act like a perfect gentleman on Reddit, but behind the screen? You’re just a wicked, twisted grin waiting to happen.

😍

But honestly, being a moderator really just means you have to stay neutral. You can't take sides.

Honestly, I think most people would actually lose their minds if they weren't allowed to just troll and act like total jerks online. If we were all forced to be reasonable, polite, and genuinely cultured? It would be pure misery. Most folks would probably just snap.

It’s true. You can perversely decide to ban someone just because they disagree with you and make up some arbitrary penalty on the spot, but that isn't the same thing as sucking up to the mods and actually earning your stripes through merit. 🤷

This is usually how the girls start things off.

😁

Just imagine how awkward it gets when you're totally vibing with one side of an argument, but the other side is actually being eloquent, and then you're expected to hand out a sanction to the person you actually agree with.
🙂
Of course, a mod is allowed to have their own opinions, and as a regular user, there shouldn't be any issue with expressing them.
But when it comes to moderating, people expect objectivity, and let's face it, neither side in a heated debate has an exclusive monopoly on being right.
Total objectivity is an absolute illusion—I'd argue it's impossible for any of us to achieve—but it isn't impossible to at least try to control your own impulses and manage the discussion fairly.

So, you’ve basically forced my hand into scrolling back through this entire thread again, and now I can honestly, sincerely ask you to just stop with all the drama
Look, one single post of yours was deleted because it added absolutely zero value to the conversation, and then there was that other post where you decided to take a shot at the moderator, which also got edited.

I’m not saying there are people we aren't allowed to mention, but let's be real: there are things this thread is actually about, and then there are things that have nothing to do with it. There is really no point in taking a discussion about one specific guy and dragging fifty other random people into it for no reason at all.

Nathan Bailey65, look, comments about how the mods are handling a thread don't really belong here, and honestly, I think the moderator was spot on to scrub that
As for that warning you got, why didn't you say anything when it actually happened?? It feels a bit late to be trying to fix that mark on your record now, don't you think?

Unfortunately, the mods are dealing with an absolute surge in thread volume lately, and they just don't have the bandwidth to walk everyone through why a post gets nuked—even when it feels totally arbitrary or just doesn't fit the vibe of a specific subforum.
Just my two cents, but the title of this thread screams "middle schooler's first forum post" to me.

Why are the hate speech criteria on forum.hr so inconsistent? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
What actually matters here is having a consistent set of standards within a specific subforum and ensuring the moderators are genuinely pulling their weight to stay objective
Every single subforum attracts a completely different crowd with its own unique level of volatility, which makes it fundamentally impossible to slap one rigid, universal rulebook over the entire site and expect it to work
Then you’ve got the issue of context, because you can't just pluck a single sentence out of a thread and pretend that's the whole story without looking at the surrounding environment
You simply can't measure people with a ruler, and trying to weigh complex human interactions on some kind of clinical scale is a fool's errand

Look, mistakes are going to happen, and they'll probably keep happening, but the real goal should be making an honest effort to fix them—and frankly, that's the bare minimum anyone should be expected to deliver

Matthew Anderson4 said:I just don't get it—he posted that back on May 21st, got his warning and the strike right then and there, and everything seemed settled. It doesn't make any sense that you're coming back to penalize the exact same post a month and a half later, does it?

Of course not.

rowdyhawk10 and the rest of you, we can sit here and hash out the criteria all day long if you want, but I have absolutely zero interest in debating someone else's disciplinary record or why they got banned.
