Best rain gear recommendations? in Cycling ·

Has anyone here used one of these before, or maybe something similar? Any tips on where to pick one up?

I think I'd definitely pair the whole setup with a good baseball cap.

Could we try to be a little more objective?
Maybe someone could keep a closer eye on what people are actually posting here. It would be great if we could just ban and delete those trolls who do nothing but insult others all day.

I didn't say "you're a crazy idiot"—that would have been an actual insult.
I wrote that... Probably. She’s dealing with some serious psychological issues. If I had just told her that... Probably. My partner has diabetes, so I suggested she spend some time looking things up online to get a better handle on the symptoms and how it all manifests. Would that be considered an insult? From a medical standpoint, a disorder or illness is just that—a diagnosis. There’s really no reason to label someone based on their condition.
I suggested she look into that disorder and walked her through how it’s been affecting things between her and her husband.
Honestly, she really laid it all out there—it’s pretty clear how much that disorder defines her perspective. Take a look at her posts, and maybe do a quick search on the Democratic Party.
Honestly, things could be even worse—there are definitely some sociopathic traits showing through.

I was being intentionally a bit more blunt just to see how she’d react—people with BPD tend to be really sensitive to personal criticism.

It’s all about the fact that she could actually get custody of her kids tomorrow. Do you guys realize how much that matters? Those kids are going to have a rough time, constantly being psychologically worn down by their mother.

Am I sure I’m not a neuropsychiatrist? That was my title back when I was still in school.

If the post were still up, anyone—even Tonkica—could have used it to challenge my assumptions or back them up. She could have reached out for help and explained her behavior to her family and husband.
Well, I guess I'll just leave that up to whoever decided to delete my post.

Please give me an answer.

Did I ever actually mention anything about being offensive? The post was taken down simply because I made a quick diagnosis. Nothing more, nothing less.
Are you sure I'm not a specialist neuropsychiatrist? (That was my title back when I was in school).

Even if you were... feel free to slide into her DMs and offer your services. 🤷

Your husband has a point.
It’s very possible you’re dealing with BPD (borderline personality disorder). Your behavior sounds like a textbook case of it.
What did your doctor say? Even they can't give a clear diagnosis if you aren't being honest or if you're trying to manipulate the situation.

Try Googling BPD; there's even a good resource called "Stop Walking on Eggshells."

I want to, I just don't know how to stop everything from driving me crazy! He’s become so cold and distant. He wasn't like this before; he used to hold me so close, and I know I'm the one who messed this up.

He hasn't changed; you have.
He’s just realized that the sweet, kind person he first met isn't there anymore. Now, you're just someone bitter who constantly picks at him, blames him, breaks things, and screams...

I know all of that! I want to fix things, but he just won't go back to how he used to be. His distance drives me insane—it's like he's totally shut down and guarded. I desperately wanted to get us back to how we were, but he won't budge, even though he said he wanted to forgive me and move past everything!

He doesn't need to "fix" himself to be who he was before.
You've pushed him so far that withdrawing and distancing himself is his only way to protect himself from your outbursts and yelling. He's just reached his limit.

I know it isn't healthy for me to be this angry and resentful toward him, but I really am. I can't honestly say he's a bad person, but his coldness and the way he's checking out is just driving me mad!

Stop focusing on your husband and what he "should" be doing. That chapter is closed. You essentially killed the relationship with how you acted. It wasn't even about the infidelity; it was the overall pattern of your behavior.

Focus on yourself and your own issues now. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for your kids.

Exactly.

You claim psychiatrists can't identify it right away, yet you think three forum posts are enough for you to make a diagnosis.

🤦

Just to make sure I’ve got this straight: you started a whole new thread because you're unhappy with a card you received two months ago (even though there's already a specific thread for card complaints), and because two of your posts were deleted? You wrote 13 posts in just two days on that original thread, right?

amberdriver17 said:Saying "you're acting stupid" is an insult, so your "if" regarding whether you insulted me is pointless.
Is it really that hard to just admit that this way of communicating doesn't belong on this forum?

So, when are you planning to apologize to Nicholas King for insulting him?

I'm heading out, but honestly, checking in every single day feels a bit silly. 🙂

The only things that stop me are heavy rain or when I have too much gear to carry and need to take the car instead.
frozenowl3 said:"You're just that annoying one from NATO," they say—even though I'm constantly fighting for gay rights on a forum that gets suppressed all the time by the FBI. It felt insulting, and honestly, it's just an invitation to start a fight. That kind of insult should get you banned. Maybe I am being a bit much for you because I keep pushing back when you don't get it, but an insult is an insult. There isn't much else I can say about it.

1) Calling someone "that annoyance from NATO" isn't an insult, and it certainly isn't ban-worthy.

2) Did you really think this fight—like any other fight—was going to be easy or without some casualties? 😁

Karen Johnson39 said:Is it better to take Broadway along the tram tracks or stick to the Gjuro Deželić approach?

quietskipper17 said:Thirty minutes of solid riding...
The best way to go is taking Broadway toward the turnoff—just pass Bill’s on the right and take the left onto Filipovic. Go straight through the Austrian Square all the way down Deželić. You'll pass by the law school near Masaryk and Tesla. In my opinion, that’s the smoothest route if you want to avoid heavy traffic. I definitely wouldn't recommend riding along the tram tracks on Broadway during rush hour. 😉

I know I’m responding to an ancient thread here, but I feel like I need to set the record straight for the sake of future generations. 😁 I’d much rather take the route from Crnka toward the Square. I usually just hop off the tram at the first stop anyway, and since taxis are hard to find and there isn't much other traffic, it's pretty easy. You just have to watch out for people turning left from the oncoming lanes, but that’s about it. It beats dealing with the crowds along the curb on Barun Filipović and Deželić, or constantly dodging puddles if you try to stick to the sidewalk.

It would be great if they could build a bike path running from Vrapče to Kustošija. The sidewalk is way too narrow and always covered in gravel and broken glass, and the street itself is just a complete mess.

All in all, I'm happy with how things turned out.

rowdyraven13 said:Besides, this country didn't exactly elect Johnson (and honestly, looking at his track record, I doubt he’d ever be elected to Congress on his own). His party—or rather, the coalition that won the election—just appointed him. Let's be real: they didn't win because people love them; they won because everyone wanted the previous administration out.

Trying to question, or even just undermine, the legitimacy of a Cabinet minister whose administration was just voted in last month is nothing more than plain old trolling.

placidfalcon9 said:Most people just want to settle things under the table. They’ll hunt down some guy they know, pay him cash, and think they're being clever by saving a few bucks.

But let’s be honest—dealing with that crowd is a massive headache. You spend all this time haggling, hunting for parts, and playing detective, all while convincing yourself you actually saved money. It's a joke.

Then the insurance adjuster shows up. "Good morning, how should we handle the repairs?" they ask. And you've got two choices: go with the authorized shop and pay the premium, or take the cash and try to fix it yourself with whatever scraps you can find.

I feel the exact same way. I’ve never done cash deals. Every single time, I take my car straight to the authorized dealer. Here are the keys and the State Farm paperwork. You guys can deal with the hassle of extra inspections and chasing down money. Just let me know when the job is done.

It isn't worth the struggle of cutting corners just to have an extra $67 in my pocket. It costs far too much time and stress in the end.
D) My ads are blocked, and I honestly have no clue what's going on here🤷
