Proposed fix for PDF account discrepancies | Alternative medicine in Feedback & Suggestions ·

Feel free to start your own little volunteer task force to go door-to-door doing home inspections if it makes you feel better.

Why is it always this defensive, shut-down kind of attitude with you?

You’re basically undermining the whole point of this forum being a space where we actually get to have an .Because right now, there isn't any actual debate happening here.It feels like the only thing allowed is mindless, uncritical worship of every single stupid idea that comes our way.

The real issue with eating crap is that anyone can manufacture it in unlimited quantities 😬 You just can't slap a massive price tag on it like you can with some "miracle" patentable drug. 😂
Why was the img code removed? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Paul Morgan74 said:...so someone finally brought him back... I'm one hundred percent certain someone had kicked him out because just fifteen minutes ago I was trying to upload a photo using an img tag and the whole thing just died on me—it said the img code was disabled... but whatever, the main thing is he's back... people are really messing around with this forum, man.

Nope.

The status of the image tagging option isn't universal across all the subforums. It’s actually turned off on some of them. 🙂
Telepathy or just pure misery with AT&T and Nokia? in Miscellaneous ·
redmarlin3 said:Listen up, my fellow Internet Explorer addicts and tech geeks over at PC Mag,
something wild just went down and I honestly feel like I need to vent to someone about it.

So, yesterday I get my May bill from AT&T.
The total amount? A grand total of $0.00. (That’s zero dollars and zero cents, for those keeping score at home). 😲

Naturally, because I can't just let a weird coincidence slide, I hopped on the phone with customer service.
And they basically told me I had somehow "overpaid" some random bullshit 😕 which means, apparently, I don't owe them a dime for May. 😕
BUT WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY PAYING MY BILL, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! 🙄

My brain is currently too fried from this nonsense to even type out a coherent rant, so you guys go ahead and tell me how insane this is. 😕

They're probably just going to hit you with that May bill again in October, only this time it'll include interest. 😁
That whole bit about intracranial pressure was actually a pretty solid way to put it. It’s kind of like how when someone suddenly gets elected to some high-level political office—you know, those folks who suddenly think they're the center of the universe—their ego inflates so fast it’s almost physical, which, if we're being metaphorical, is basically just a massive spike in internal pressure leading to an enlarged head. I mention that because, well, with the recent elections happening all over the country, it's a phenomenon we're seeing everywhere right now. 🤷

BTW, this topic is getting so huge and wide-ranging that it’s really starting to bleed out of the boundaries of this subforum; we should probably move this over to Off topic, or maybe just the Random or Trash sections. 🧐
How do I increase my post count? in Forum Help! ·
Gary White30 said:So, I’ve been hanging around this forum for a little while now, just drifting in and out, but I noticed my post count is stuck at 16. It’s not like I’m trying to break some kind of world record or anything, but it’s got me wondering where the bottleneck is.

Well, it turns out certain sub-forums don't actually count toward your total tally. Take the "Off Topic" lounge or the "Political Debates" section, for instance—which happens to be where most of what you write ends up.

It’s like when you're tinkering with an old Ford engine in your garage—you can tighten every bolt and swap out the spark plugs, but if the underlying software is prehistoric, you're basically just spinning your wheels in the mud. Honestly, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the system is just throwing a tantrum because it hasn't had a decent patch since the Clinton administration. 🤷
From what I can tell, we're looking at some seriously outdated version here!

Ever since that last update rolled out, it feels like half my settings just vanished into thin air—poof, gone, straight to the void. Seriously, I’m sitting here staring at my screen wondering if I accidentally deleted everything myself or if the developers just decided some features were too much work to maintain. It’s like when you finally get your house perfectly organized, and then someone comes in and decides to rearrange all the furniture while you're sleeping; you wake up, look around, and realize nothing is where it’s supposed to be anymore. Half the options I actually rely on have just evaporated, leaving me wandering around this digital wasteland like a lost tourist in downtown Chicago without a map. Absolute joke. 😂 Honestly, I’ve got this nagging feeling that the higher-ups aren't even daring to push out any updates anymore, mostly because they're terrified that one wrong move will just cause the whole damn thing to go up in flames. It's like watching someone try to fix a crumbling bridge by just standing there staring at it, hoping if they don't touch anything, gravity might just take a day off. They're paralyzed by the fear that if they try to patch one hole, the entire structure is going to cave in right under their feet. 🤣

Thanks.

You can't. It's just not an option.

No problem at all. ☕

Look, we can't possibly know for sure... because our tiny, blink-and-you'll-miss-it existence isn't nearly expansive enough to gather a statistically significant sample size of events occurring within that meta-space... there’s just no way to determine if things are happening by pure chance or if there's some underlying pattern at play... we're just as limited as the moderators on this forum here... unless we get promoted to super-mods, we aren't seeing the full picture, and honestly, we'd only see more if we were the admins... but then again, if everything really is just random luck... then there are no admins... and every single sphere of existence is just crawling with trolls and confused souls desperately fighting against entropy.
placidjackal36 said:Why don't we just move this whole thing over to Philosophy? Oh wait, I forgot—that sub already has plenty of threads like this from the exact same crowd. 🙄

Well, newsflash: this actually drifted over from Philosophy in the first place.

And here I am, the poor, uneducated moderator of this corner of the internet, too terrified to toss this straight into the Trash bin because I was worried I might be accidentally deleting some profound cosmic truth essential to the enlightenment of the entire human race.

So, instead, I let the thread breathe and wander, while simultaneously attempting to figure out what kind of massive ego trip we're actually dealing with here. 😕

Still haven't cracked the code, though. 😢 I know that I know nothing. See how that sounds? Deep. Very philosophical. Yeah. 🙂

Susan Brooks83 said:So, you’ve got a yellow armband wrapped around your sleeve, or if you want to put it more bluntly, it’s basically like wearing a yellow Star of David... it's a mark used to identify someone.
Look, we all know how it went down—the Nazis used those marks to single out Jews across Europe, and that’s just a historical fact we can't ignore.
I mean, if you ask me... I honestly think there's something incredibly provocative about the way these self-proclaimed "Christians" go about marking their presence like that.
Look, I’m doing this entirely of my own free will here, because if I don't, it's going to look like that whole religion PDF is basically stamped with some Nazi branding... which, let's be honest, is a pretty heavy accusation to be dragging around.
And it’s all just... different. Completely, fundamentally different. Totally distinct.

That logo they’ve got sitting on all those avatars—it’s basically just a slightly tweaked version of the original, right? If you actually look at what it’s trying to say, it essentially boils down to: "My bad, I am..."
"Catholic." You know, back in the day, you could pick up those kinds of stickers anywhere—even just grabbing one from the little supply closets at the local parish.
The Roman Catholic Church—well, they used to have these things that served as markers right at the entrance of a building, where...
It’s honestly my biggest dream—just to live somewhere where we can finally get some peace and quiet, you know? A place where those Jehovah's Witnesses and all those other fringe cults just stop showing up on your doorstep every other weekend. It would be nice to exist without constantly having to dodge someone trying to hand you a pamphlet about the end of the world while you're just trying to grab your mail in peace.
So, you’ve got people out there actually ringing doorbells and harassing believers who have those little decals on their windows? It’s honestly wild to me—just walking up to someone's private residence to cause a scene because of a sticker. It feels like some kind of targeted harassment, right? Like, just leave people alone in their own homes if they want to display their faith.

So, I mean, what is even happening with this whole thing where people keep swapping out their avatars and slapping those little captions on them that say, "Sorry, I am..." It’s just wild, isn't it? You see someone's profile picture change and suddenly they're trying to broadcast some kind of public apology or a specific identity marker like they're walking down a street in Chicago trying to explain themselves to every stranger they pass. It feels like we've all collectively decided to turn our digital identities into a series of tiny, frantic billboards. Honestly, it’s a bit much. It’s like watching someone walk into a Starbucks, standing on a chair, and shouting their life story at the barista just to make sure everyone knows exactly where they stand before they order their latte. We get it! You're here, you're there, you're this or that—you don't need to put it in neon lights on your profile icon for the entire internet to see.
Calling oneself a "Christian"... honestly, it doesn't lead anywhere except to picking fights with everyone else, which just seems like a massive waste of energy if you ask me.
It just breeds this massive sense of friction and constant, unnecessary competition. Honestly, that’s not exactly the hallmark of people who actually consider themselves... well, you know, decent human beings.
Look, I’ve got to say this to all you Christians out there... It’s just common sense, really. I mean, think about it—Jesus didn't exactly go around walking around with little stickers or labels stuck to his clothes to let everyone know what he stood for, right? He lived it. He just was. You don't need a decal on your bumper to prove who you are or what you believe in.
His whole life was basically one big, walking testimony—it wasn't just about what he said, but how he lived, showing exactly who he was and whose side he was on.

Forgive me, fellow Christians... I'm a Roman Catholic woman, and honestly, that’s something I stand by with everything I believe.
So, I’ve been sitting here thinking about that whole label we all carry around—you know, that specific name we use to define ourselves—and it really makes you wonder where the root of it actually comes from. I mean, if we look at the cross, which is obviously the very foundation of the name we claim, how do we actually live that out in our daily lives? It’s one thing to say the word, but it’s a whole different ballgame to actually witness it through your actions, isn't it?

🙏🙏🙏

After this goes down, those fake-it-'til-you-make-it Christians with their performative social media profiles can just crawl back into whatever hole they came from and stay there so they stop embarrassing themselves. 😬

feraltrucker5 is spiraling into full-blown paranoia here...😬

Look, feraltrucker5 might be a little paranoid, but honestly, that’s not even what this is about.😬

For me, getting hugged by a total stranger or having any kind of physical contact with someone I don't know doesn't mean anything at all—it's just skin touching skin, nothing more. 🤷 It’s actually kind of bizarre to me that some people find that to be such a big deal or a meaningful moment. 🤷 But hey, whatever, we’re all wired differently, so if someone gets a kick out of it, more power to them. 🙂

Look, call me a party pooper if you want, but I honestly don't get the hype 🤷 Getting a hug from someone close to you? Sure, that's sweet 😍 But running up to complete strangers on the sidewalk and trying to embrace them? 🤷 Honestly, to me, that feels way more creepy than it does heartwarming ☕
