Just imagine if they tried an experiment like this within the American civil service... say, at a massive entity like ExxonMobil. 😂 Out of all the half-baked, poorly executed ideas we’ve already seen implemented here, this would be pure madness... just total perversion of the system.
Right now, the jobs everyone is fighting over—the ones where people are pulling strings, taking exams in places like Little Rock, or even handing over their entire life savings as a bribe just to get through the door—those roles would basically turn into winning the lottery via some twisted new method. 😁
Picture a typical workday: you roll into the office around 8:30 or 9:00, spend the next hour just turning on your computer and refreshing your inbox until 10:00, grab lunch around noon, linger over a coffee until 12:30, shuffle a few emails and move some papers around until 1:00, and then... well, it's already time to head home... 😍
A perfectly valid point. If we were to start stigmatizing Pelé or Bedřich Smetana with the same intensity we use against Tonson, they would probably be topping the charts by now.

That said, I don't think it’ll happen overnight. The tech is still in its infancy and hasn't been properly vetted yet. In the end, it’ll just be another scheme to line the pockets of a select few. They'll "produce" goods even cheaper than Chinese people can, raking in massive profits while leaving X times fewer workers with jobs. Are they going to ship 3D printers to African Americans to solve world hunger? I highly doubt it.
Maybe in 100 or 200 years, it’ll become cheap enough for every household to own one. Until then, nothing changes—except a handful of people getting richer while the workforce shrinks even further.
A hundred or two hundred years? Honestly, just look up what the early computer pioneers were predicting regarding computers, television, or even telephones about a century ago. Based on their timelines, we wouldn't even have reached the level of a WWII-era radio by now...

The way kavga wrote that... it’s a bit much. People weren't born knowing everything on Valentine's Day. Everyone knew who NYC was, but they were just tired of hearing those new fossils sing about them. It didn't really hit a breaking point until the wooden league era... such a shame...
Honestly, I’m just sitting here wondering if I actually misread the whole thing... am I losing my mind?
The mere fact that the corrupt cops kept this quiet for so long proves they’ve been covering things up. They were clearly banking on everyone just moving on and forgetting about it entirely. 😠😠😠
It almost slipped under the radar since the news was initially only picked up by some local tabloid site. But now that it’s finally hit the major morning and evening news networks, the conversation has shifted quite a bit. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the political discourse lately; back in the day—say, five or six years ago during those trips to places like Prague, Jilin, Podgorica, or Timisoara—people used to call for the mass lynching of sports fans constantly...
In today's edition of Gregg Popovich's column, which was actually written while he was out in Columbus, he goes into quite a bit of detail about this over two full pages. 😉
though I wouldn't be surprised if you've already reached out to him

Kode9 was on the lineup 😢
As far as starting a discussion goes, you really should have mentioned the RBMA set at the Brooklyn Music Academy... 🙂
Honestly, I’d have more faith in those mindless Facebook polls where two-thirds of people vote against something than in these so-called "unofficial surveys" published by The New York Times.
The last time I caught one of those bigger shows, the sound quality at the venue was actually quite impressive... though I suppose that's a different conversation if you're looking at the price of a beer.

And yet, just a week ago, they were practically nobodies... 🙄
You should really grab that "Electric Post" compilation... there are some other similar American indie bands on there too, and it even includes a track by Margaret is Dead.
