Do any of you banking gurus from the old thread know why the Swiss Franc isn't absolutely skyrocketing right now? I mean, there’s a massive, unprecedented crisis brewing just over the horizon, so why isn't it reacting?
It’s just sitting there, totally stagnant—like maybe it’s lost its status as the ultimate safe haven for cash. Honestly, at this rate, Bitcoin is probably going to swoop in and snatch its spot entirely. 😁
Just the same old crooks and thieves.

I've got this Dell Inspiron, Intel Core i7 5500U with an NVIDIA GeForce GPU,

Here's the deal—when I power the thing on, there's absolutely no picture. Tried hooking it up to an external monitor, nothing happens (even hitting F7, F8, F9, etc., on the keyboard)...

So, I already tried a CMOS reset—pulled the battery out and waited a couple of minutes—but still nothing. The fan spins, the lights come on, but the screen stays dead.

The weird part? When I hit Caps Lock, the light doesn't even toggle, and none of my peripherals—keyboard, mouse, whatever—are getting any life. So, does it even bother trying to output to an external monitor at this point?

I've swapped out the RAM, the hard drive, everything I could think of, but it's just the same old story.

Since nothing else worked, I went full DIY mode. I pulled the motherboard and started hunting for voltages. I'm seeing 19.5V, 3.3V, and 5V everywhere... except for the unknown ports, so I'm guessing the Super I/O isn't the culprit, and it's definitely not a charger issue.

I did a visual inspection too—didn't see any liquid corrosion or any burnt components that look suspicious.

Now I'm stuck thinking it might be the graphics card, which would make sense at first glance, but wait—shouldn't the system still boot up and maybe make some noise even if the GPU is toast? Could it be the processor? And why aren't the ports getting voltage or the Caps Lock working? Is there any way to force it to use the integrated graphics from the CPU (since the Intel Core i7 has built-in HD graphics)?..

Any ideas are welcome, thanks guys.

Just leave it plugged in and running for a while, maybe overnight. Then try booting it up again tomorrow.

I have cycled through maybe five or six different clients—Mozilla Thunderbird, Postbox, PopPeeper, and a few others—but I just can't seem to find one that does what I need. Specifically, I want to be able to close the main window and have the application tuck itself away into the system tray, where it can just quietly hang out in the background and keep polling for new messages.
Does anyone happen to know of a solution that actually handles this?

And I guess you're asking which ones *can't* do it?

I actually popped the laptop open and pulled out the card, and honestly? I didn't see anything sketchy—except maybe they have these two identical slots and only one is being used??? Though, I really doubt that's the culprit since this whole mess just hit me out of nowhere; everything was working perfectly fine just last month.

I already placed an order for a USB Wi-Fi adapter on Amazon, but it's gonna take forever to show up because of this whole mess with the virus situation😵, so I figured it’d be way easier to just find a local shop here in my city and get this sorted out immediately.

So, after three whole months of waiting, the Supreme Court finally dropped the hammer—deciding that those conversion agreements between banks and customers are perfectly valid, even if the actual terms in the original contracts were totally void. Absolute madness.

And honestly? Big surprise there—not like we didn't see this coming.
I guess we just have to hold onto the hope that the pandemic resets this entire broken world. 🍿

Not one single one of those "clones" of the same person—assuming that even makes sense—has ever actually claimed that heliocentrism is a fake description of reality. Well, I am making that claim, and I could back it up easily. Just like I could prove people never even set foot on the Moon. But since you guys are way too obsessed with my legs to care about actual facts, you’re never gonna see that evidence. Actually, the real reason you won't see it isn't because you aren't interested—it's because I'm not about to throw pearls before swine. It’s not that I’m being stingy or hoarding the truth; it just makes zero sense to try and explain things to people who don't give a damn. Swine only care about rolling in the mud and trampling over each other.

You're hiding the evidence like a snake hides its tail. 😁

Don't even sweat it—once this whole thing blows over, the mods are gonna restore all the deleted posts and give a massive apology for any totally unnecessary bans. If there were any, that is. 😉
I'm positive about it. Like, maybe 2% chance they don't.

Get used to this kind of moderation. Honestly, anyone actually following this thread from the jump has already Googled everything—except for neonwalker95, apparently. 😁
If this all works out and those idiots turn out to be right, then fine, whatever. But if us doom-and-gloomers are actually on the money, they won't even exist to brag about it. 🍿
I'd rather just be an optimist; their sense of smug satisfaction is way too intense for me anyway. ☕

Casey Perez6 said:Hey guys, what's up?
I've got 4 computers running at the office and my scanner setup just went completely sideways on me—tried everything to fix it and failed—so I tried this workaround:

Everything we scan used to save automatically to one specific PC in a shared folder that everyone could see without a hitch.
Now, I've moved the scanner installation over to a different machine; scanning works fine again, but when I try to share the folder, nobody can find it.
I've double-checked all the settings a million times, but I am totally lost on where it's breaking.
I can see the other PCs on the network, but nobody can see mine.
To make matters worse, I can't even get into the other computers—it keeps demanding a username and password—even though everyone else can access mine just fine.

I think I've completely messed everything up and I'm honestly at my wits' end here... any help would be huge, thanks in advance!🙂

Kenneth Cruz67 said:But honestly, I don't think it's quite that simple. You're dealing with a massive amount of registry tweaks, Group Policy settings, various services, and so on. You really need to know exactly what you're doing, and you'll likely need to spend several hours hunting down third-party tools and scripts if you want to tailor everything perfectly to your own specific taste.

That being said, if you happen to find a group of people you truly trust—people who definitely know their stuff—then it might be much easier to just download an ISO they've already put together.

For example, https://forums.mydigitallife.net/ 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah, but it’s definitely not a "few hours" job—you need years of experience just to wrap your head around half this stuff, which is why most people don't even bother. 😁
But wait, aren't links to those ready-to-go, homemade ISOs actually banned on MyDigitalLife?
I mean, sure, there are tons of tools out there to build your own custom images—and I use them all the time—but posting links to a pre-modded ISO? No way, man. Absolutely not.

Karen Doyle72 said:Oh, they'll be back. Mark my words. Once big banks start pulling their money out of the US because of all these court rulings, they’ll crawl right back here with some sob story about how *we* are the ones who broke the entire American banking system.🤣

About damn time, too... honestly, it was long overdue!
I’m looking at this whole mess regarding those Swiss Franc loans—honestly, it’s enough to make my blood boil! People are out here losing their minds because they thought they were getting a "deal," only to get absolutely hammered by exchange rates that moved like a roller coaster gone off the tracks. It’s absolute madness. And now? We’ve got the Supreme Court stepping in with this ruling, and honestly, I don't know if it's a win or just more chaos in the making. You see these big players like Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase playing games with people's lives, treating mortgage holders like they're just numbers on a spreadsheet, and then everyone acts shocked when things blow up! It’s the same old story: the big banks line their pockets while regular folks are left holding the bag. I was reading what some of the folks were saying about it—you know, like how Karen Doyle72 was rambling on earlier—and it really hits the nail on the head. This isn't just about math; it's about whether the system is rigged. And let's be real, it feels pretty rigged from where I'm sitting. Between the shifting regulations and the way the US federal courts have been handling these cases, it’s like trying to hit a moving target in a dark room. It makes me wonder... if the Supreme Court finally puts its foot down, does that actually fix anything? Or does it just open a massive can of worms that Wall Street will find a way to exploit anyway? I've got a bad feeling about this one. It's just another day in the beautiful, chaotic disaster that is our financial system. Total insanity!
Two massive banks just lost their CEOs at once—seriously, can you believe that? It feels like the calm before the storm, honestly. I’m sitting here wondering if this is just some weird coincidence or if it’s actually the opening act for a total meltdown triggered by a Supreme Court ruling on those damn Swiss Franc loans. If the highest court in the land decides to drop the hammer on those predatory loans, the whole banking sector is going to be in absolute chaos. Just wait and see!

Those consumer advocacy groups—you know the ones, like AARP—they totally played the Wells Fargo situation to their advantage. Now they’re all sitting back, acting all smug, thinking the Supreme Court is just going to hand them a victory on a silver platter. They're basically banking on the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the consumers, like it's some kind of guaranteed win! And what exactly would happen then? They’d be trying to squeeze like $4 billion out of the banks through lawsuits—which, let's be real, would absolutely wreck the entire financial system! It’s a total domino effect. You end up destabilizing everything, and who gets hit in the end? Everyone. Every single client. We're talking about regular folks who never even touched a Swiss Franc loan in their lives getting caught in the crossfire of this mess. Total chaos.
