Yeah... I'm really not feeling like dropping $110 for Metallica—especially if they're just gonna play stuff from St. Anger mixed with a few classics from the Black Album anyway.
$110 That money could be put to much better use... 🙄
It’s honestly not that deep who listens to what...
I'm big into heavy metal, sure—but I also vibe with stuff that has zero connection to it, like Red Hot Chili Peppers, for example.
As for folk, dance, techno, or whatever else isn't my thing? People can listen to whatever they want! Just please, don't nag me about it—it's not like I'm going to start lecturing them about heavy metal.
Well... they were probably just waiting for me to cast my decisive vote YES! — because let’s be honest, nothing happens without me.
Regarding the whole moderator situation, why not just find some middle ground? I hate playing referee, but why not split the moderator lightsaber between Galaxy and Legion? Unless, of course, the Darth Council changes their mind after seeing my brilliant suggestion and decides to appoint me instead...
But seriously. Oh, right. If we end up with two mods, one has to be light side and the other dark. You know, the classic good cop, bad cop routine.
I’m just wondering which naive soul is actually going to volunteer for the light side... 😈
Solid movie. Definitely fixes the mess they made with Reloaded. They leaned a bit too hard into that sappy "Neo, we love you and believe in you" vibe—and honestly, that final showdown between Smith and Neo could've been shorter—but at least it ended in a way you didn't see coming.
For example,
First, Smith beats the hell out of Neo. Neo gets up and another round starts. Smith beats the hell out of Neo again. Neo gets back up... and so on. At a certain point, I’m sitting there wondering, where's that moment where Neo just spits blood on the floor, stands his ground, and finally takes Smith down? But nope! Even after all that flying around, Neo doesn't land a single good hit on Smith—he just keeps taking a beating until Smith eventually dies because he tried to assimilate him.
The lesson here: THEY COULD HAVE SKIPPED THE ENTIRE FIGHT IF NEO HAD JUST LET THEM ASSIMILATE HIM AT THE VERY START...
Just grabbed my tickets for the premiere this Wednesday! Fingers crossed this one actually holds its own against the second installment—because if they totally blow the third part, the whole The Matrix saga just becomes one legendary masterpiece followed by two massive letdowns. Usually, the third movie beats out the second, but hey—we all know The Matrix breaks all the rules!
X-Men 1,2—absolute legends, just like the comics themselves... aren't they?
I just can't get behind the casting for Spider-Man! Honestly—I can't even picture Tobey Maguire as our web-slinging hero, let alone Kirsten Dunst as his girlfriend. If you strip away the awesome action sequences, the whole movie just feels like some cheesy teen romance, doesn't it?
Daredevil is solid—not exactly a masterpiece, but definitely good. I actually love that the guy doesn't have superhuman strength like everyone else or some invincible skin—it feels much more realistic, as much as a superhero movie can be, right?
I expected a bit more from Hulk—but hey, I guess it’s alright. It feels about the same level as Daredevil, right?
I mean, come on—how is a Jedi supposed to block a phaser blast? No way in hell!
Then again, I’d love to see a Jedi try a mind trick on some geeky engineer just to watch him trigger a warp core overload.
Here's another one for you! What's faster—the Millennium Falcon in Hyperspace or a Sovereign class at Warp 9.666?!
And don't even get me started on those shields trying to survive the Death Star. One well-placed shot and the whole of Q (hope I spelled that right!) would just go up in smoke...
In the game Enter The Matrix—which is honestly total garbage, by the way—you get these FMV sequences where Ghost and Niobe are hanging out with Monica, so... hey, anything can happen, right? At the end of the game, that final FMV basically acts like a teaser trailer for Revolutions, showing off some scenes you haven't seen yet. Honestly, if you're a die-hard Matrix fan, it might be worth just grabbing a pirated copy and using cheat codes to breeze through it just to see all those FMVs.
He’s even in that "meet Dorothy Dandridge" thing that was airing on TV a little while back. 😁 You’re still living in the Stone Age, aren't you? Wait, wasn't he the crazy scientist in Independence Day?
The first one—V'Ger!!—is legendary. And Wrath of Khan is just as great. Did you guys ever catch that episode where Khan shows up on the Telkari while Jim was still in charge? The third one is alright—totally watchable, I guess. I haven't seen the fourth, the fifth is five being shit, and the sixth is just nonsense.
Generations is okay—definitely not as good as the third. First Contact 🙏 Insurrection is a decent way to kill two hours. Nemesis is actually pretty good! It’s definitely more action-oriented—that scene with the ships charging at each other was cool. A little too long, though.
John Booth said:You must've seen that in the Evening Standard. They gave it a measly two stars. I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet—but honestly? I don't think it's all that bad.
Yeah, I did. I read that review in the Evening Standard, and man, I totally agree with what they said about Depp. Still... if you ask me? I'd give the movie a solid 3.5 stars, not just a 2.
Depp looks almost like he's in drag in this one. I mean, seriously—just look at him in Sleepy Hollow or from Hell compared to how he looks here. Why does he need that much makeup? And don't even get me started on those whiskers...
The movie is decent enough to pass the time, though—there are definitely better flicks out there.
Honestly, I totally missed the connection at first. Like, I’ve seen the sign and read War of the Worlds, but it never clicked—until now. Pretty cool, right? It just goes to show that the movie isn't just some mindless cash grab for Hollywood. Well, maybe a little... but definitely less than you'd expect.
