Since Carol Ortiz9 posted her photos on Tinkili, I guess I found the courage to share mine too 😬
Strictly for educational purposes 😳

So...
The first one is... well, what can I say?
It’s not even my worst phase—there was an even uglier stage a few months after these. Luckily, I don't have any photos from back then because I avoided the camera like the plague.
I wonder why 😬

These two are from a couple of days ago when I was posing in front of the mirror, trying to catch a glimpse of some muscle definition. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to capture it, even though those specific muscles—the ones I actually worked hardest for—are what I'm most proud of.

I still have work to do and certain "goals" in mind; I think some areas aren't quite there yet, some are pretty much bottom-tier (like my lower abs), but this is mainly so Carol Ortiz9 sees that you can actually get a flat stomach even if you're well past 35 and hovering around middle age. It's not six-pack territory, but it's relatively flat—and all that talk about "I'm doing everything right but nothing changes" or "I'm just getting old"—is complete nonsense.

imageimageimage
5'9"/I think I'm around 135-138 lbs somewhere.

God, if anyone who actually knows me sees this, they'll probably think I've completely lost my mind 😁
How do you put an end to situations like this... in Psychology ·
silentpilot6 said:http://www.nytimes.com/news/crime-story-article-215167

To summarize... a young man was brutally beaten just because he had an mohawk haircut. They left him unconscious in the street, where he was then struck by a car. He passed away in the hospital 😢

And once again, there will be a thousand excuses made for the idiots who did this. Once again, the attackers will somehow be treated with more leniency than the victim...

What can even be done? 🤷
I realize everything starts with how a child is raised at home—the values parents instill from a young age—but there will always be sociopaths out there who shouldn't even be allowed near children, let alone harm them. So what options are left?
The education system, society as a whole... perhaps sanctions. Harsh and swift ones (though that might be a utopia...)
Regarding the killers of Coco Gauff, practically nothing happened. One individual received a single year in prison... a damn YEAR 😢 👎 for murder.
The others faced nothing... once again, the laws and the system seem to protect juvenile delinquents, and in this specific case, murderers.
What kind of message have we sent?
"Go ahead, beat people up in the streets; nothing will happen to you... even if you kill them." 😢

Implementing maximum legal penalties for violent crimes could help. If the killers of Coco Gauff had been sentenced to the harshest possible punishment, it might serve as a deterrent to others acting similarly. Perhaps then, idiots like those mentioned in the link above would actually stop to think whether beating someone up is worth spending 3, 5, 10, or 15 years behind bars.
Maybe they would hesitate... maybe they would walk away. Maybe they wouldn't be reading about it in the crime news today... regardless, another young life has been lost. 😢

I honestly don't get people like that.
I mean—I just don't understand what could possibly motivate you to for no reason at all go out and jump some guy just because he’s a punk or whatever—someone who is (I assume) just minding his own business while you and your crew go about yours? 🤷

Are you actually sane? Is everything okay with you? Are all the lights on upstairs?
Give me a break.
And besides—if you aren't sane at 15 or 20 when you're beating people half to death in the street, I guess you think you'll magically become a model citizen by 35 or 45? Some pillar of the community making huge contributions to society?
Sure. I'm sure.

Personally, I'd sentence them to 20 years at Gol Island—making them break rocks, so they might at least be useful that way.
The same goes for those who beat little Ritz.
They could all break rocks together while I give them a little pat on the head. Together 😁
Angela Bailey7 said:silentpilot6, I honestly think you’re just slapping a schizophrenia diagnosis on this girl when she’s probably perfectly healthy and fine. And besides—what about all those other medical issues that can be way more serious than mental health struggles? When you're looking at a woman as potential life partner, shouldn't you first ask for a full medical history of her immediate and extended family to ensure your kids don't inherit some bad genes? Even if you do end up with "bad" genetic material, it doesn't mean a disease will actually manifest.

The real issue here is the prejudice in our society; people act like those with mental illnesses are somehow "lesser." But the truth is, there are probably more people struggling with mental health issues who haven't been officially diagnosed than those who have. And one more thing—how on earth do you think you'll make a "good choice" by picking someone without a diagnosis, only to find out later she was hiding her true nature and turns out to be a malicious, manipulative gold-digger?

According to your logic, people with mental health struggles don't even deserve a partner or to be loved—which is ridiculous, because they likely need support even more than "perfectly healthy" people do. It also seems totally foolish to suggest you should pick a partner based solely on cold logic rather than your heart. My mother always used to say it's better to walk through thorns with the one you love than to build a castle with someone you despise. All this over-analyzing won't do you any good; life is going to happen to you regardless. You think you've mapped everything out, but life always has an unexpected curveball waiting for you. Don't complicate your existence by trying to plan for a future that hasn't happened yet while ignoring the reality of today. And as my mom used to say: if you aim for the rose and miss, you're still gonna hit the dirt...

To me, these comments aren't just romantically utopian—they're just plain nonsensical (and I'm quoting you, though you aren't the only one with this view) 😕

But let me be brutally honest. 😁

It isn't prejudice to say people with mental illnesses aren't "normal."
I don't think it's unreasonable to look for certain traits—parameters, characteristics, physical appearance, education, etc.—in a partner, whether short-term or long-term, including mental health. 🤷
Look, I don't see any reason why I'd want to be with someone with schizophrenia who is seeing and hearing things or talking nonsense... occasionally.
Honestly, what would that even bring to my life?
Let's be real. Completely real.

Why would someone who has schizophrenia and is aware of their condition—the hallucinations, the aggression (as mentioned in the schizophrenia thread😁)—want to burden someone they supposedly love with that? Because it *is* a burden.
If they truly love them (since love is often used as an argument for why one should stay with someone "crazy") 😉
When I love someone, I want them to live a happy life with someone who can provide things I can't, neither today nor ten years from now, rather than watching me periodically chase imaginary crows around the apartment.
Isn't that right?
Anything else is just pure selfishness. 😁

I should also comment on the part about how "you believe people with mental illnesses don't have the right to a partner or love."
silentpilot6 never said that.
The question was:Would you ever date someone struggling with mental illness?
I guess Legicon wouldn't—and I wouldn't either—but that doesn't mean that person doesn't deserve to be with someone who actually cares for them and shows them affection.
Honestly, I find it kind of bizarre how people act so shocked when someone says they wouldn't choose that path.
Jerry Morales4 said:I heard today that getting a divorce might be impossible if you're married to someone struggling with mental illness, since under Family Law, you aren't supposed to just abandon someone in that state.

That isn't true—not even close.☕
silentpilot6 said:I’ll admit this topic feels a bit discriminatory, but I also find it incredibly real and, frankly, quite an interesting question to pose.

To give you a specific example... I have a neighbor who is a lovely, attractive woman 🙂, but she has two cases of schizophrenia in her immediate family—her mother and her uncle. Since we know this condition can be hereditary in many instances, would I enter a relationship with someone like her? To be honest, I wouldn't... both because of her own potential struggles and the risk that our children (if we ever reached that stage 😁) might inherit it too.
With all due respect to those living with the illness, I wouldn't knowingly start a relationship with someone who is either currently struggling or faces a very high probability of developing it.
Of course, I realize it's a completely different story if I were already in a committed relationship where we were deeply in love 😍 and then discovered these facts later on...

Look, if we are talking about someone who is potentially mentally ill for whatever reason, but they aren't acting out—meaning they aren't doing anything bizarre (like running naked down the street, seeing or hearing things that aren't there, obsessively counting steps, washing their hands 3,000 times in half an hour, or swinging between extreme euphoria and suicidal ideation)—then I really don't care.

But if they have some kind of mental illness—any kind at all—then no.

Michelle Castillo5 said:Oh my god! 😲 This is just awful... honestly, what gets me most are those comments about "huge" numbers. Every time I hear someone talking like that, I feel like I want to reach out and physically unscrew their head just to stop the noise.

It’s actually wild to me how plenty of those quasi-boutiques in places like Kinkroser’s or those big shopping malls mostly stock size 2, 4, or 6, while anything 8 or up is treated like it's massive.
Or they’ll label something an 8, but it isn't really an 8 because it's way too small to be an 8.

And look, most women I know fall somewhere between size 8 and 14, so it’s just incredibly frustrating when that one friend of mine who wears a 14 gets all excited just because she actually found pants in her size.
It’s pathetic, really.
I mean, it’s ridiculous that in a major state capital, you have to feel lucky just to find a decent piece of clothing in your size—because if you don't look like a runway model in America, apparently you're "overweight."
If I lived out in the mountains with some hermits, I guess it wouldn't be such a disaster; no stores, no sizing issues, we'd just knit our own clothes ourselves—who knows.
But this place is supposed to be a "metropolis," right? 😁

Even for me, I don't really care if someone calls me fat or points out I wear larger sizes—that doesn't bother me.
But given the prices they charge for clothes here—like, say, a top from $167, which was $270 on sale 😁 (I’m not even joking—that's what I ended up paying for 😁) and then to top it off, they don't even carry anything above a size 8—well, that's where I draw the line.
Fashion for curvy girls in Fashion ·
Honestly, how do you ladies deal with this? 😢

So there I am, just trying to pick up some sauce.
Usually, I wear a medium—around a size 38 or 40.
Anyway, I walk into this shop (honestly, a total dump in Kroger) to check out some sauce, and the label says 38.
Fine, I try it on—doesn't fit.
I try the 40—fits better, but I can't even get it zipped up.
So I go up to the cashier and ask if they have a 42.
She just snaps at me, "We don't carry that large
in stock." 😲 I was just left 🤣-->
stunned. I mean, are they messing with me, joking, or just being condescending? 😁

So I guess my "selection" stops at 42—absolutely ridiculous.
It’s like they think every woman is a size 2 or 4. 👎
That's why I switched over to eBay 😁—they actually have everything.
swiftseal97 said:Hey guys, I have a quick question.
How do you actually trade stuff with someone you don't know at all??
Basically, we met through this forum and want to swap phones, but neither of us trusts the other enough to just ship them out!
I suggested exchanging info—maybe sending photos of our IDs or some other document—and then just mailing the packages via Greyhound or something.
I'm not sure how else to protect ourselves. I've already been burned once before... So, how would you handle this?

In that case, I'd suggest that neither you nor this guy ever trade online again. 😁
Simple as that.

This seems incredibly complicated to me.
The idea of sending a photo of my ID to a stranger... no. 😁

Because... everyone who buys things online, whether it's here in America or over on eBay, sends money from their own accounts to strangers based on good faith—which is a pretty vital factor in online shipping. 😁
And in 99.9% of cases, both parties are decent people.

👋
Maybe try caramelizing some sugar so it sticks, then scrub the pot with bleach—we'll see if that works.

I don't have anything better to do than caramelize sugar and then go scrubbing pots. 😁
By the way, I know a guy who claimed his junk grew by 30% after three liters of Diet Coke—so clearly, Diet Coke increases size. There’s your proof, just how you like it.

Great. Just one more reason for that guy to drink that garbage. 👍 Provided he actually needs his junk to be 30% larger than usual 😉 (though I wonder if he was measuring while erect or 😁).
What a life... what luck, or rather, the lack thereof. He gets an increase in size, and I get blisters. It's just not fair. 🙂
I suppose I wouldn't mind if, instead of blisters, my breasts grew 😁 (equivalent to that guy's 😉 situation).
Some sort of buffering system in circulation. (Oh, please, don't tell me about buffers—it's chemistry, and we've never understood chemistry, so don't even start).

It’s best when people express themselves in a way that requires me to look up definitions in The New York Times just to understand them. If you can't say something so the rest of the world understands, maybe just don't say it at all.
Ah, excuse me, we don't need facts from a whining Coca-Cola fanboy or a wannabe chemist; we just need blisters and to draw conclusions from half-baked information we've misunderstood or ignored entirely. Add a dash of anti-American sentiment, and there you have it—classic ignorance.

Look, honestly. These are my facts and my experience with this drink. Is it the ultimate truth? No. I'm not claiming that. I'm just stating my own experience.
As for the chemistry and chemical elements in Coca-Cola, frankly, I couldn't care less. I'm not a chemist, nor am I a nutritionist, and I'm not trying to be. I'm just an average citizen commenting on Coca-Cola. Or what? Am I supposed to be a scientist to comment on it?

The fact that it doesn't contain harmful ingredients doesn't mean anything to me. It's not even the point. I've shared my opinion and my stance on Coca-Cola, and now, whether someone chooses to drink it or not is entirely their business.

If you actually weighed 180 pounds, you’d know that isn't just water weight—it's fat. I've been there myself. I lost 55 pounds, but it didn't happen in 36 days—it took me a year and a half. Roughly 500 days, give or take.
Even if you were 180 pounds and decided to eat absolutely nothing—and believe me, I've tried all sorts of diets, including the one called "starvation"😁—you wouldn't lose much at all. Why? Because your body would just hoard its reserves instead of burning them.

The intellectual level here is incredibly low—and I suppose the student-teacher dynamic👎 is questionable, assuming any of this is even true. 😉

By the way, 125 pounds isn't "little" to me. It's just... normal. Unless you're 6'3", then maybe.

And one more thing. The people I knew—or rather, used to know—who struggled with Eating Disorders were incredibly proud of every pound they lost, the purging, the fasting, and looking like skeletons (more or less). But you? You're sitting here whining about how "thin" you supposedly are. What kind of bulimic are you supposed to be? Not a real one, obviously.

________________________________________________
I don't mean to say that discussing bulimia isn't useful for sharing experiences, but I don't know... this whole conversation just doesn't sit right with me, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
When I mentioned Soraja and her "final days," I got absolutely torn apart for it, even though I said it back then too.

And no, I really don't enjoy it when people mess around with serious topics like this for no reason.
Like, using Soraja or someone who allegedly died of brain cancer as a talking point... generally: a mental illness is a psychiatric disorder that results in a disruption in, but making light of any kind of illness is just wrong. 👎 This story just doesn't hold water.

Amanda Ward80 said:Last year, my doctor actually suggested I drink some Coke.

I was on an IV for ten days—which pretty much trashed my system—and get this: the doctor claimed Coke might help balance out my electrolytes. 🙂

I'm not claiming it's as healthy as lemonade, but it isn't exactly poison either.

For God's sake, it's not freaking poison.

Look.
Here is my experience and why I finally stopped drinking that garbage.
Basically, I had this bowl with some nasty residue stuck halfway down the bottom. I tried scrubbing the crap out of it with everything I had—including, mind you, Clorox.
And that stubborn buildup wouldn't budge. I even tried soaking the bowl in water mixed with Clorox—nothing.
I wanted to toss the bowl, but I liked it too much. That’s why I worked so hard to clean it.
But I didn't throw it away; I just kept it.
Then, during a period when I was drinking a lot of Coca-Cola, a bottle broke. There was a little bit of Coca-Cola left, so I poured it into that bowl (the one from earlier 😁).
Within a few hours, that Coca-Cola—the stuff people claim is "not that harmful"—dissolved that residue. Seriously, the residue that even Clorox couldn't touch was melted by the stuff people ingest every single day. It's unbelievable.

Regarding the doctor. Hmm. My cardiologist told me I was underweight and basically called me crazy because I don't eat meat—absolute nonsense, right? Is that the ultimate truth? Not necessarily. While it doesn't necessarily prove my theory about Coca-Cola, it certainly doesn't help the argument that it's okay to drink.

My other issue is with Diet Coke. Once, after having just a tiny bit, I broke out in hives all over my body and face—it was unreal. Usually, I'm incredibly resilient, and yeah, it was 100% due to the Coca-Cola. Even on that Diet crap, the label suggests not consuming more than a liter a day—and if the manufacturer is saying that, you know there's a problem...

So now, someone is going to tell me this is fine to drink? Look, it won't kill you—that's a fact—but I see no reason to drink it. There are no vitamins, no minerals, nothing useful.
It's trash.

Chloe Morris12 said:Does Diet Coke actually make you gain weight—and how bad is it for you really?

Basically, if you're going to drink soda anyway, is it better to stick with Diet or just go for the regular version?

Coca-Cola is garbage. 🙂
I mean, you should probably avoid any version of it—it's a bit much that people don't opt for something higher quality instead of this junk.
Whether we're talking about the Diet version, which supposedly has almost zero calories per serving, or the regular stuff—which is just as bad, except it's also loaded with sugar.

Does it cause weight gain? Not the Diet version—at least based on the nutrition facts, I guess.

A few inconsistencies and some questions from my side:
1) How is it even possible to lose 50 pounds in a single month?

2) What kind of college is this—where a professor asks about weight or thinness during consultations, and supposedly even remembers some random "revelation" he made during a lecture regarding some student's weight?

3) Is 125 pounds actually considered low?

It depends—on what you're into, your budget, your schedule, and your willpower, I guess.
You could go the more expensive route with things like Pilates, a gym membership, aerobics, or Tae Bo—there are plenty of those "modern" 😁 options out there—or just stick to running or walking around your neighborhood, a local park, or a nearby trail, which is the cheaper way to go. Of course, you also have to consider—your actual fitness level, assuming you have one at all. 🙂

She got tired of it pretty fast, and honestly, it’s not even a big deal for the guy—after a few months, you just start seeing it as normal.

She also dealt with issues regarding irritation and healing; her skin was always a bit redder around that area than the rest of her body.

After a year, she just let it heal up.

So, look. If you think it's worth it for a few months out of the year—do it.

How could pants bother her? Sorry, but I pierced my own navel last fall, I always wear jeans, and they never hit my belly button... what is this friend of yours wearing, some weird high-rise cut? 😕

And the whole "it wasn't that great for her boyfriend" thing isn't really my problem—who cares? It’s not exactly a huge deal for my partner either, is it? 😕 🙄

In my humble opinion, I guess you haven't really thought through what she actually wants or doesn't want—because if she enjoyed it for a few months and then just let it go... it seems a bit silly. In your other post, you mention being "at an age where..." which contradicts your point about wisdom coming with age.😉
