The Lord of the Rings Trilogy in Movies ·
I voted for the first one. Personally, I’m leaning toward the third—though what was it that quietdriver3 said? Something about a movie with a thousand different locations. And then there’s that scene where Frodo wakes up and all the other hobbits are jumping around his bed in pure excitement—I'm trying my best to forget 😬
I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of the trilogy; the whole fantasy genre just feels a bit meh to me

Disclaimer: I put him in the group of "documentarians I skip," not in the conspiracy theorist camp. That’s strictly because he's a liar, a hypocrite, and a self-promoter. He isn't a documentarian.
I don't want to veer into off-topic territory—which has happened countless times in similar threads—but what exactly is the point of your post, Michael Ortiz68? Large corporations and powerful elites hold massive amounts of capital and rule the global market. So what? The world has basically functioned on a basis of the minority screwing over the majority since the moment humans climbed down from the trees. No amount of activism or good intentions is going to change that. They are natural laws. 🙂 As George Orwell once said: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"

I don't want to keep off-topicting. I won't be watching the film, but if you're actually interested in documentaries, I'd sincerely recommend Bus 174.

Out of the options provided, Where Eagles Dare wins hands down.
If the others were actually on the table (instead of just being 😠), I'd probably cast my vote for Full Metal Jacket or Taegukgi.
Benjamin Thompson66 said:I’ve watched it all... but at this point, who even cares? There are so many conspiracy theories floating around that it actually starts to hurt just trying to figure out which one is telling the truth.

I second this. ☕ I tend to skip over anything produced by Zeitgeist, Michael Moore, or Al Gore. I find myself dodging any documentary that leans too heavily on that tired anti-corporate, anti-globalist, anti-state formula just to score points. For me, the only things worth watching are nature documentaries—though even those have started getting a bit too sensationalist lately.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) in Movies ·
Personally, I found it decent, especially with a few genuinely hilarious moments sprinkled in. If I recall correctly, I gave it about a week before deciding; those funny bits tend to hit you in waves rather than maintaining a steady rhythm. It was a bit of a rollercoaster—one minute I’d be laughing, then it would get tedious, then back to laughter, then back to boredom... But all things considered: 👍

How can you not see that this entire thing is just one massive joke? From the book to the movie, the trailers, and now our own commentary. It’s nothing but a mockery, isn't it?
People treat everything like a game, so why should the Judge be any different? 🤷

And I suppose you're going to be the one to enlighten us all? 🍿

The communion wafer, the free Holy Grail, that trailer... Of course it’s fake. But it’s always fun to take a little swipe at Sudčev. It clearly doesn't bother him, though; thousands of losers follow him around like he's some kind of legendary figure. You know, like that one guy from the movies...

Hah hahhahahhahhaha
I noticed the exact same thing. I’ve heard him talk before, but he was always quiet and composed. Here, he gets worked up, raises his voice, and suddenly sounds like a complete coward. 😂

Maybe someone uploaded it illegally, so they pulled it for copyright issues.
If the movie were actually available on YouTube, they wouldn't be busy fleecing losers who think buying this film will somehow lead them to "the truth."

Do you honestly believe censorship can stop the truth from getting out?

You are DESPERATELY trying to hawk this book and movie here, aren't you? I have to say, your sales pitch is pretty weak: "Something significant was revealed..."😲 You really think anyone is going to buy that line?

p.s. Nobody is trying to censor Tucci. If we did, who would provide us with any entertainment? 😬

Lisa Morgan76 said:Is this actually being taken seriously? A little packet of hostia? The Holy Grail?

Something tells me this whole thing smells like a total setup.
Especially after watching that trailer. You’ve got the Carmina Burana swelling in the background, a statue weeping blood, waves crashing violently against the shore... It’s pure, unadulterated trash. Maybe it turns out to be some sort of joke at the end and I was just being naive, but right now? It looks terrible.😢

Jackpot
Bonus: a compass from Tucci’s trip.🤣🤣🤣
There’s bound to be some kind of twist at the end—sort of like Keyser Söze in The Usual Suspects 🍿.

And the most tragic part? People will actually pay for things like this. It's pathetic.😢

Just finished watching Mia teaches statistics. It’s original and charming enough—I don't have any real complaints... but I still think Bruce Lee holds the throne.
Now I just need to get around to catching Warrior Time 🙂

Jonathan Collins43 said:Calling it a treasure trove or essential reading for cinephiles is total nonsense. I borrowed a copy of film theory and found absolutely nothing compelling about it. I suspect Ante Peterlić was quite knowledgeable, but I haven't spent enough time with his work to say for sure; even after skimming this book, I didn't find anything particularly insightful, let alone anything that would help refine the way one approaches film criticism. I might give it another look later, though.

Give me a break. Maybe it’s because your favorite "classics" aren't in there: Not Another Teen Movie, High School Musical, Legally Blonde...☕

"Spider-Man" is easily the worst thing Sam Raimi has ever directed. Thankfully, God exists, because he managed to pull himself back from the brink with "Drag Me to Hell".

I haven't seen Drag Me to Hell yet, but I definitely agree regarding Spider-Man.🤮
I just realized I voted for five films instead of just one 🤦
Anyway, I cast my vote for Watchmen—the graphic novel is top-tier, though the movie is only a decent adaptation. I’d also throw in Batman Begins and Iron Man
