Why on earth do you think they even call them "smileys"!? :asshole:

I actually reported you to the mods for insulting other users☕
shadowpilot8 said:Here is a perfect demonstration of how those emojis can be used without any consequences at all 🙂

Free gets heated over a single stock quite often, though that is irrelevant to the topic at hand 😁
My point is, unless it is directed at a specific user, an emoji is perfectly acceptable expression

The issue here isn't whether you're directing a smiley at a wall, a letter, or some deceased singer; it's about when it's aimed directly at another member.

How are we supposed to handle "offensive" smileys when they're aimed at politicians or other public figures? For instance, Suker:2up:
Suker🙂 Or would someone end up in the ban corner just for that?

And what about cynicism, sarcasm, and those other similar rhetorical devices?
Take this specific case: If I were to respond to the post
hollowtrucker77 said:you have kitchen knives at home, right?
A knife is sharp and meant for cutting
It’s perfectly fine to cut someone in a kitchen, because if it weren't, what would a sharp kitchen knife and a kitchen even be for??

I'd reply with a bit of text and 🙂 or maybe 🙂

Maybe, but if you drop an :asshole: on someone, you might end up getting flagged. I just wish there was one universal rule for the entire forum that was crystal clear, leaving absolutely no room for doubt...

Since I ended up getting a warning just because of how I strategically placed my emojis, I’d like to ask the mods and admins to step in and set some clear, official guidelines regarding their use. I’m also hoping the rest of you users might weigh in with your own thoughts and suggestions.

So, basically, are we actually allowed to use all the different emojis available, like the more "aggressive" ones such as :2up: or :asshole:? 🙂

Or maybe 🙂 something that takes an insult to the next level...

Then there are the others—the relatively mild ones🤮, the chauvinistic types🙂, and so on...

Thanks to the forum leadership for any clarity you can provide.

Of course, any kind of inappropriate behavior or outright insults wouldn't be tolerated or allowed...

It would be interesting to see this in bold...😁

I wonder how much it would actually cost to have every single letter in my username customized to a different color...😍

Something different this time, though—not really looking for striking power, just maybe some endurance. I think I have plenty of that, unlike my punching power, which is kind of frustrating since I can't seem to improve it much. I was looking into wrestling, so if anyone knows a decent club in the States with a solid coach and a women's program, I’d really appreciate it. 🙂 Any suggestions for similar sports would be cool too.
By the way, what kind of build do wrestlers usually have? And am I too old at 22 to start something like this? I’m hoping I won't end up training with a bunch of teenagers. 😛

Which part of town are you in?

Zachary Mendoza17 said:But look, standard karate and Kyokushin are worlds apart.
Personally, I wouldn't touch any other style of karate; Kyokushin is the only one for me. What kind of martial art or sport is it if there’s no contact and you just mimic strikes? With all due respect to practitioners of other styles, Kyokushin is exceptionally grueling, raw, and honest. That is the bottom line. Anyone who has ever had the chance to watch a Kyokushin tournament will understand my point. The exchanges, the technique, the power, the spirit, and even the beatings you take... those are true fighters with a genuine warrior's soul.

You don't need to explain that to me; I get it. I was just pointing out how people who haven't spent much time in the world of full-contact fighting tend to view it.😉

Sounds good, sounds good.
I'm going to go check out a training session once this week. If I like it, great; if not, also great.🙂🙂

Benjamin Robinson3, what about Tae Bo? Or maybe a kickboxing club that does something similar to that old-school aerobic kickboxing? Or even Capoeira? It’s less focused on combat and more on rhythm, dance, and acrobatics. It isn't easy, but then again, it isn't quite as intense either...

I suppose I should probably say something here, though I’m rarely one for the constant chatter that seems to define these forums. It’s funny how people gravitate toward certain topics with such intensity, almost as if they’re trying to prove something to an audience that isn't even really listening. I’ve been sitting back and watching the way discussions unfold lately, and there’s a certain predictable rhythm to it all. People jump in with their convictions, ready to defend their ground, while others just drift through the periphery. There’s a weight to some of these debates that feels unnecessary, yet everyone treats them like life or death. Personally, I tend to prefer the quieter corners of things... the parts where you don't have to shout to be heard. But then again, maybe that's just my way of looking at it... kaže:
That’s just how it is. Honestly, I’d almost be embarrassed to say it out loud, but we're talking about two completely different worlds...

I’ve been sitting here thinking about how much noise there is lately... just constant, aimless chatter that doesn't actually say anything. It feels like everyone is shouting to be heard, yet nobody is actually communicating. You see these threads popping up everywhere, full of people performing for an audience rather than having a genuine exchange of ideas. It’s exhausting, really. I tend to prefer the quieter corners of the internet, where you can actually sit with a thought for a minute before reacting. There’s a certain dignity in being deliberate with your words. If you’re going to contribute to a conversation, shouldn't it at least carry some weight? Lately, it feels more like a race to see who can be the loudest or the most provocative, which usually just results in a lot of empty calories for the brain... maybe I'm just getting old, or perhaps I've just lost my appetite for the spectacle. kaže:
Because it’s just fundamentally different. Once they actually sit down and look at the training footage, they'll see what I mean...

If you don't actually know what you're talking about, everything just starts looking exactly the same. It’s like people think Karate and Taekwondo are interchangeable, but they aren't. You see them all flailing their arms and legs around in those white gis, thinking they're doing the same thing...

Zachary Mendoza17 said:I would suggest Kyokushin Karate. There is an excellent club called "Sosai" near the Panorama Hotel. They have a highly skilled instructor and a great group at training. Just drop by and see. You should also look into other martial arts options.

Why would you recommend a karate club if she wasn't even feeling the Taekwondo vibe?🤷>
To kill or not to kill? in Philosophy ·
Quentin Tarantino
I’ve been thinking about that whole concept lately—that pull between desire and affection... it’s a heavy thing to unpack. It’s not just some simple attraction; it’s more like that messy intersection where passion meets a deep, quiet devotion. You know, when the heat of the moment starts to blend into something much more permanent and grounded... it changes the whole dynamic, doesn't it? kaže:
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right subforum for this kind of thing, mostly...

Please answer the following question with a simple yes or no. Don't try to dodge the question; I need you to be serious...

If we were ever put in a position where we could take one person's life without facing any legal consequences or moral backlash... I can't help but wonder where our heads would actually go. It’s one of those dark, heavy thought experiments that you only really dwell on when the world feels particularly broken...
So, let me ask you this... if you were actually put in that position, would you do it? Would you kill him?

If you go ahead and say yes, people are just going to look at you like you're some kind of patient in need of serious psychiatric intervention... meanwhile, everyone else will be busy playing the part of the selfless, wide-eyed innocent...
If you decide to say no, everyone is going to know you're lying. They won't call you out on it, though—unless they just don't care enough to bother—but it would be painfully obvious that they’d be lying right along with you if they dared to say no...

My answer is yes...
No.

What on earth are you rambling about...😕🤷
What would even drive someone to take a life when there isn't some immediate, direct threat to my own people or anyone else close to me? I just don't see the logic... 😕
If someone were to kill purely for the sake of killing, there wouldn't even be a debate about it. There’d be no moral dilemma or gray area to navigate; it would be pretty obvious that they aren't psychologically sound and belong in a high-security psychiatric facility...

If I could, I’d write that straight into the Animal Welfare Act this very second. And I would enforce it religiously. I don't see the problem.

Nancy Rodriguez38 said:To the admins, the tech support crew, the experts, and everyone else in charge!
I'm starting a new thread because, honestly, I have no clue if there’s already one like this. I didn't bother looking because the site has been down for maintenance all day, and now that I finally managed to log back in, I'm typing this as fast as possible before you decide to take the servers offline again...☕

Look, this is getting ridiculous. Seriously, people, how can you claim these aren't "brief" outages when we're dealing with at least three maintenance windows every single week? Don't try to sugarcoat it with those excuses. And maintenance during peak hours? Really?!!!!😠 🙂 Why don't your famous tech guys just pull a night shift once in a while and get the work done then? If you're going to brag about being the largest forum in America, I'd think you could manage to avoid this kind of downtime (so FREQUENTLY). Your own marketing claims that over 120 skilled and competent moderators from across the country and around the world actively guide and manage discussions — so it makes me wonder, what exactly are those 120 "experts" doing?

To be honest, I'm getting tired of the apologies. I wouldn't mind if you did this a couple of times a month, but several times every week is just overkill. Thanks a lot! ☕ 🙂

🤣
Maybe try stepping outside for a change? The sun is actually shining out there...😛

There's Krav Maga—multiple clubs—running sessions over in the West Side area, Dennis Survival down at the Quad, and Ninjutsu classes held at the local middle school downtown...

I should probably mention the club run by a guy who's basically an urban legend here—Damir Kukulj. Nobody actually knows anything about him, yet everyone is absolutely certain he's some kind of absolute master when it comes to Jiu-Jitsu...

Casey Thomas4 said:To all you forum regulars who actually know your way around a combat sport, I have a few things I'm chewing on... I’ve spent my entire life on the soccer field, but a few months back, I stumbled upon a guy teaching a specific style of self-defense and decided to give it a shot. It was centered heavily on blocking strikes, using various levers, and disarming techniques. Honestly, I loved it... but things have hit a bit of a snag lately regarding the cost, so I’m looking for a new direction. Ideally, I want something just as effective—though I should mention my previous instructor used to train guys over at the local SWAT teams... I've been looking into Wing Tsun or maybe Aikido. Since I don't really have a background in martial arts, I could use some guidance or a nudge in the right direction. From what I’ve gathered reading through these threads, every discipline seems to have its fair share of people claiming to be experts when they really aren't, and I'd really rather not end up wasting my time with some charlatan... Thanks for any help, everyone...

How exactly did you go from being an instructor for the Army to practicing Wing Chun and Aikido?🤷 What does what those cops over in Lučko practice have to do with Wing Chun or Aikido? It’s a fair question... I mean, if you look at how those tactical units operate, it seems like a world away from the fluid movements of a traditional dojo...😕
Building on what Sam Roberts suggested, I’d also throw Bujinkan into the mix—assuming you’re actually interested in weapon work. My only gripe with them is their unconventional setup; they tend to run this intense selection process through an initial group that filters people out so aggressively, half the students never even make it to the actual "ninjutsu" or the specific skills that drew them to the school in the first place... Plus there are a few other Jiu-Jitsu clubs worth looking into as well.
If you’re actually serious about getting into Aikido, you should probably head over to Zafranović. He’s a true practitioner—a real aikidoka—and he carries a level of Dan ranking that’s pretty rare to find around here...
I'm guessing you're from the Chicago area or somewhere nearby...?
Wing Chun—and honestly, if anyone tries to steer me elsewhere, they can just keep walking. I’m staying biased on this one...

Just because someone calls themselves an "aikidoka" doesn't mean they actually have a clue how to practice the art. Honestly, he probably thinks his technique is the absolute best in the entire country, but then again... that’s a long story, and it really doesn't matter...

All that detox nonsense is pure garbage; that black residue isn't from toxins, it's just a reaction from the electrodes during electrolysis.
As for all this "warming up" business, it seems a bit over the top to me.
And the whole thing with the undressing and massaging? That's just ridiculous...🤣 So Uncle Sam kept you happy, huh?🤣 The old guy clearly knows what he's doing. Poll: Would you guys try this? in Miscellaneous ·
I think your idea misses the mark for a couple of reasons: first, you’re relying on just one "big" tractor.
Second, if by "big" you mean a modern machine pushing more than 120 HP, we're talking about something that costs as much as several mid-sized SUVs. Only a complete fool would hand over a machine like that to some total outsider who’s likely to blow out the transmission, snap an axle, or just wreck the whole thing for a cool $50—not even counting the cost of repairs, maintenance, or a tank of diesel.

That said, if you're running a family farm and looking to pivot into agritourism, knowing how to operate a tractor should definitely be a prerequisite.

EDIT: Just caught your previous post.
If you consider an 80-horsepower tractor to be a "big" tractor, then you're clearly living in a different reality altogether. For anyone actually making a living off the land, a machine like that is just a helper, nothing more.😉
You'll see soon enough how easily a front axle snaps when some kid tries to haul a heavy log at speeds over 15 mph.
But look, if you've got the guts, the drive, and the patience to deal with the headaches, and you have a heavy-duty, reliable tractor ready to go... then go for it. I hope it works out for you.
