Why was my thread moved? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Take a good look at rule number three, and then take another look at your thread title.

rustydrifter10 said:How to start a new thread:

• Before you hit that "post" button, please make sure you check out our list of community guidelines.

• Also, try to see if there’s already an active discussion thread about your issue so we don't end up with a bunch of duplicate posts cluttering things up.

• When you're writing your title, make sure it's crystal clear who you're addressing and exactly what the grievance is—something like [PDF Name - Moderator Username - Issue]. This makes it way easier for the right people to spot your complaint and get back to you quickly. In your very first post, please lay out the specific reason for your complaint with a clear explanation, and don't forget to include links to the actual posts or threads you're talking about.

• If a thread is too vague and doesn't actually explain what the problem is, we won't be able to help you, and those types of posts are subject to being locked.
How do I delete or deactivate my account? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Chris Carter10 said:Is there any way to deactivate or just straight up delete my profile? I’ve looked everywhere and can't find an option or even a mention of it anywhere.

It feels weird that you can't just do it, especially since Facebook had to build a full deletion process into their system. Even if the posts stick around, I want to know if there's a way to freeze the account instead of wiping it completely. Like, a way to make it so you can't even log back in. 🙂

Just come up with a password so complicated that you'll never be able to remember it, and then log yourself out forever!

Here’s a quick rundown of what our "Ban Corner" actually looks like:

Think you got hit with an unfair ban? This is the place to vent.

It’s beyond obvious at this point, but if you actually look at the fine print, the P&L and the Balance Sheet are two completely different beasts. They operate on totally different dynamics—the options, the reporting requirements, even the way you're supposed to structure the entries are worlds apart. Because they aren't built on the same logic, you just can't expect them to function the same way within the same threads. It's like trying to apply the same rules to two different sports; the mechanics simply don't align.

When it comes to the topics you've been posting about...
It’s not an appeal against the ban, just like Sabaa pointed out.
Look, there isn't a single link or shred of actual evidence provided to back up those claims, so that alone makes it a clear violation of the rules.
And honestly, probably the most important thing here: you’re dragging the moderator into this again. It feels like you’re actually stalking him around, because you keep popping up in other threads where he doesn't even have any authority, just to poke at him by bringing up his status—which is totally irrelevant there and carries zero weight. Seriously, man, just stop. If you don't, you’re going to end up getting banned here, and you'll likely face the same consequences over there, too.

I'm willing to bet my life that in a couple of days, some admin is going to chime in just to remind us all that they aren't on duty 24/7/365. 😁

All these posts are totally superficial, so thanks everyone, and please keep those reports coming.

Look, Starac Vjest, this malicious stalling just isn't doing anyone any favors anymore. Seriously, quit starting the exact same threads over and over again before you end up getting banned; you’ve already been warned about this behavior. And let's be clear—we aren't going to go swapping out the moderator just because you're unhappy with how things are being run.

By definition, there isn't a single topic in existence that doesn't have a place right here in this thread. ☕

Look, in theory, maybe, but let's be real—discussions about moderation shouldn't be happening anywhere except in the specific area set aside for that. Even in our main thread, we can't just go around breaking the rules; usually, anything that isn't a major violation just gets handled with some lighter moderation. At the end of the day, the moderators have to stay within reasonable bounds, but they absolutely have the right to shut down certain topics if they have a valid reason to do so.

Look, old wise man, trying to have a conversation with you is honestly exhausting. You’re constantly being provocative, coming off as abrasive, and frankly, just rude. Plus, those massive walls of text you post are incredibly draining to get through—you just keep recycling the same grievances over and over again. We simply can't operate this way. I've reviewed the records regarding your strikes, and I don't see any errors in them; there's absolutely no reason for you to show up tomorrow with a sixth "new" version of the exact same complaint. These attempts to force a change in moderators—or whatever else you're aiming for here—aren't going to work because we don't see any justification for it. So, I'm asking you nicely: please stop this behavior and try to be more constructive and polite. Reach out only when you actually have legitimate, fresh reasons to appeal.

Look, all you really need to do is file a report. Whether they actually determine if these are just clone accounts, or how they decide to hand out sanctions—well, that’s entirely up to the moderators. They aren't under any obligation to give you play-by-play updates on their investigation or walk you through their reasoning process.

Font issues in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Amy Cooper said:I’m working on this one publication using Publisher at my office, and everything looks absolutely perfect there. But the second I get home and try to open it, the software claims it can't recognize an "INHERIT" font. It completely messes up the whole layout, making it impossible for me to finish the job from home! I've tried hunting for this specific font everywhere, but I just can't find it anywhere online. It keeps flagging some kind of inheritance issue or something similar. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do to fix this?

Maybe try asking around here.
New rules for warnings and bans in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Edward Perez64 said:I’ve got a suggestion here, and it’s not even about the points because those aren't really the issue.

My idea is that whenever someone gets hit with a warning card for trolling—which, let's face it, is the most common reason anyway—the moderator could just include a quick one-sentence explanation of exactly what part of the post was considered trolling. Or, if possible, maybe they could even bold the specific text that triggered the warning. I honestly think this would clear up all those complaints people lodge against the moderators and smooth over a lot of those annoying misunderstandings.

It’s just a small tweak to how we handle warnings labeled as "trolling." It shouldn't be much extra work, but it would definitely cut down on the number of appeals and make the whole moderation process way more efficient in the long run.

The thing is, the warning message is actually automated, so we can't just go in and bold parts of a post; by the time the card is issued, we don't even see the content anymore. While a moderator could certainly add a little note alongside the warning—and some of them do occasionally—in most cases, it's pretty obvious why the card was handed out. Plus, any user who is genuinely confused is always welcome to ask. There isn't a rule saying we have to provide a default explanation every single time.

Anthony Nguyen81 said:So, you're saying insulting other members carries a two-month duration, while everything else is shorter?
If you don't mind me asking, how long are the others?

Right now the default penalty points are set up like this:

Violation Type Points Expires
Quoting with an image 10 7 day
Poor thread opening 10 3 Day(s)
Offtopic 10 15 day 10 15 Day(s)
Signature violates rules 10 30 Day(s)
Image larger than 640 pixels 10 15 Day(s)
SHOUTING (CAPS LOCK) 10 3 Day(s)
Breaking thread rules 25 3 Day(s)
Trolling 25 10 Day(s)
Breaking sub-forum rules 30 30 Day(s)
Breaking General Forum Rules 35 15 Day(s)
Insulting members 45 60 Day(s)
Unauthorized quote editing (falsification) 50 30 Day(s)
Unauthorized advertising (contact marketing@forum.com for ads) 50 10 Day(s)
One-day ban 100 2 Day(s)
piratstvo 100 30 day 100 30 Day(s)
Hate speech 500 20 Day(s)
Severe insults toward members 500 20 Day(s)
Doxing / Posting private info 500 20 Day(s)
Spambot 1000 Never

We still have the option to use custom penalties because, let's be honest, not every single ad or inappropriate signature is the same thing—there’s a massive difference between a 45-point slap on the wrist and a 500-point hammer blow for something truly egregious. We're actually still working through some adjustments, looking at different types of penalties, varying the point durations, and recalculating the totals. This isn't the final version of the handbook yet, but this is basically where we stand for now. Once we reach a final decision, we'll definitely let everyone know. As you can see, we haven't updated every single category yet, but that's mostly just because we haven't gotten to them in our discussions, not necessarily because we've decided to leave them exactly as they are.
New rules for warnings and bans in Feedback & Suggestions ·
We’re running a bit of an experiment here. 🙂

Right now, the point-based ban system looks like this:
100 points - 1 day
200 points - 2 days
300 points - 3 days
400 points - 4 days
500 points - 7 day
600 points - two weeks
700 points - three weeks
800 points - one month
900 points - two months
1000 points - permanent

One new thing to keep in mind is that these points stack up—new penalty points won't start ticking in until the previous ones have actually expired. We've also lowered the weight of certain offenses to make it a little harder to hit those ban thresholds; for instance, trolling is now only 25 points instead of the old 35. We’ll likely be tweaking things as we go, adjusting whatever we find works best, so just know that everything is still very much a work in progress.
Do you guys read private messages? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Brandon Lopez6 said:Just putting this out there.
Since I don't really want to air my grievances publicly, I'm just trying to figure out if I'm being ghosted on purpose or if everyone's just busy 🥳.

Some people read everything here, and some probably just skim through. If a moderator hasn't gotten back to you on a specific post, honestly, just give them a little nudge after a couple of days. If you still don't hear anything, go ahead and reach out to a supermod or one of the admins. Sending a private message works too!
