Combining the Uncombinable in Feedback & Suggestions ·
We’ve already gone over the idea of starting a dedicated LGBTQ+ subforum several times, and it’s been shot down every single time under the guise of preventing "ghettoization"—which, if I’m being honest, is a fair point.
Anyone in the community is more than welcome to start a thread here regarding any specific issues they’re facing with dating, intimacy, or relationships.

I don't think it’s actually a great move to have a standalone section just for that demographic. If people feel the need to segregate their discussions into a niche corner, they’ll eventually just stop posting on the main site altogether. It creates a silo where they only talk to themselves.

For instance, if I wanted to vent about some drama I'm having with my girlfriend, I’d come here to the main boards, not to some specialized lifestyle site. That’s the whole point of a general forum.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on the matter. I'll leave the final call to the admins.

If those threads turned into nothing more than a chaotic mess of graphic descriptions and off-topic nonsense, then one of them was obviously spiraling out of control. And of course, the second I dared to speak up against it, the moderator slapped an "off-topic" label on my post and nuked it before I could even blink.

Actually, I deleted your rebellious little post, then cleared it from the thread, and finally sent you a DM explaining that we have a specific PDF protocol for handling complaints and feedback.

That’s really all there is to it.

Well, I figured I should weigh in since I was the one who merged those three threads together—the poll regarding the LGBTQ+ community, the discussion on discrimination, and the one about lesbians.
I’ll admit, combining the lesbian thread might not have been the most brilliant move; honestly, it probably should have been archived ages ago since it wasn't serving much of a purpose, but once it drifted onto page two, I decided to bundle it up.

When you're dealing with topics this broad, they really ought to live under one roof. It doesn't make much sense to constantly spin off new, separate threads just to tackle the exact same set of issues over and over again.
Now, if a topic is deeply personal, then sure, it deserves its own space. Those kinds of discussions are usually looking for specific advice or a bit of support.

I don't see any harm in attaching that thread containing a few individual lesbian experiences to these other two.

The Lies PDF is intended for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation. However, because the challenges faced by the gay community are somewhat distinct, they deserve their own dedicated space to discuss lived experiences, systemic hurdles, discrimination, and things of that nature. And the Democratic Party provides that space here.

Talk about complications...🙄

I mean, fair enough, but I don't even touch Firefox anymore.
In my experience, Opera handles all that blocking stuff much more smoothly.

Is this some kind of procedure for getting rid of a hunchback?
It’s a bit like one of those late-night scenarios; you’re out wandering in the middle of the night and suddenly, you stumble upon a massive oak tree.

The real headache is that this specific ad is oriented vertically, when it really ought to be running horizontally.
So, whenever those ads start cycling randomly on the homepage and hit this vertical one, the logo starts drifting around a bit...

I have to admit, I’ve never heard that particular term used before.😁

Look, I’ve been using Opera for quite a while now, and I haven't run into anything like that once. Besides, honestly, getting rid of ads is a much smoother process there than it is in FF.🤷

Same here—I don't bother with Opera or IE, just stick to Mozilla.
And since I practically never touch IE or Chrome anyway... it’s hardly a tragedy.

I have an adblocker installed, though I couldn't tell you exactly how the gears turn under the hood.
To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less.☕

Honestly, I’m also scratching my head over why this issue seems to be exclusive to Microsoft.🤷

Is this an issue with Opera, or what?
For me, that half-meter gap🙄 only shows up in Microsoft, though I haven't quite figured out why.🤷

Kevin Martin35 said:It’s not exactly a difficult task, but it doesn't quite hit the mark for what I’m actually looking for either. The end result is just an overwhelming mountain of posts scattered across a million different threads.

What I’m actually looking for is a specific kind of functionality: you know, when you go into the advanced search, type in your own username, and get a neat little list of every thread you’ve touched—sorted from newest to oldest—with a quick way to jump straight to the first unread post in each one. On most high-end forums, that’s just a single click on a persistent link at the top of the screen. It’s seamless. But here, those options clearly aren't available. Once you’re active in ten, fifteen, or even more discussions, having that shortcut becomes essential if you want to keep pace without losing your mind. Manually opening the advanced search and typing in your handle every single time just isn't quite the same as having a dedicated button ready to go.
How are you doing?

You know, you actually have the option to just subscribe to whatever specific topics catch your eye if that’s more your speed.

Aside from that... I don't know. God, everyone is just so incredibly comfortable with the status quo.🙄

dustyskipper3 said:There is that famous sketch from Saturday Night Live where Thomas Moore (acting as Robin Hood) steals flowers from the wealthy just to hand them out to the poor. In the background, you hear this song: "Thomas Moore, he steals from the rich to give to the poor, Thomas Moore, dum dum dum..." and so on. By the end, the poor have an absolute abundance of flowers and are tossing them around, while the rich have been stripped bare and don't have a single petal left. At that point, the background music shifts to:

Thomas Moore
He steals from the poor to give to the rich
STUPID BITCH.

This chorus forces Thomas Moore to remark: "Blimey, this redistribution of wealth is trickier than I thought!" (I guess this whole wealth redistribution thing is more complicated than anticipated)

I suppose what this means is that an honest man can often find himself in a situation where his integrity backfires—not just on himself, but on the very poor people he was trying to help as a good Samaritan. Instead, he might unintentionally play right into the hands of the wealthy and the corrupt. For instance, take our veterans who fought for the US with nothing but a rifle in their hands, sacrificing their health and lives believing they were defending the country and its people. It turns out their sacrifices ended up fueling immoral war profiteers and various PIF groups (following the era of the big holding companies), who managed to build literal little empires by exploiting those stocks.

A true revolutionary probably wouldn't agree with that kind of honesty, though even they eventually run into the same issue regarding redistribution—a new elite of wealth and power always emerges, and ultimately, the revolution eats its own children (including him, too, I guess).

My conclusion would be that being honest is easy enough, provided you're also somewhat cunning. But to be truly honest—without being a complete fool at the same time—requires a great deal of careful thought, maybe. 😬

Are you thinking... Dennis Moore?😉
He eventually scales up his operation from swiping small change 🤣 to looting gold, silver, and everything else under the sun.

..stupid bitch..😁
What can moderators see on my profile? in Forum Help! ·

What about everyone else? The supermods and admins?

I’m curious—why does this bother you so much?
Is it really that vital for someone like, say, AxMi, to track which specific thread you're lurking in?😕

I’m fairly certain mods don't have that kind of oversight. As for the admins and supermods, I haven't the slightest clue.

Jeremy Phillips94 said:I also recall some people mentioning that their post counts were being wiped—you know, those specific milestones like hitting 100, 200, or 500 posts—supposedly due to some sort of "administrative misconduct." Honestly, if the total number of posts doesn't actually serve any functional purpose in the grand scheme of things, I fail to see why anyone would bother messing with them in the first place. It seems like a lot of effort for absolutely zero payoff.🙂

I suppose some people find deep significance in a high post count. They seem to operate under the assumption that the more entries you rack up, the wiser or more influential you become—as if a digital tally could somehow act as a substitute for actual substance.☕

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if half my posts just vanished by mistake. It would give the illusion that I actually have a life outside of this screen. 😳
Moderators are being so petty, uncreative, and incompetent in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Linda Rodriguez38 said:Ugh, they're just as bored as our girl Kim Kardashian—except they don't even get a choice! 🙂

What I'm trying to get at is that there isn't really a fair way to compare this situation to what an average user goes through. It’s an apples-to-oranges comparison when regular people don't even have the option to jump into a chat like that.

Well, there you have it. A total precedent.😁

Nicole Nelson77 said:So, I’ve been scrolling through this subforum, reading all these complaints about what the mods have done or haven't done lately.

Everything is fine with me.

I’ve definitely lost my cool more than a few times myself.
In my relatively short time hanging out on these boards, I’ve felt that flash of anger toward certain moderators—just because they let their own human flaws get in the way of things.

But so what?!!!

I used to sit there thinking, "What on earth is wrong with this moderator?" Is he just totally out of touch with reality?!

Anyway... more to come...

Look, I get it. By the next morning, the irritation over some random ban for "spamming," trolling, flame wars, or whatever other nonsense labels they throw around usually fades away. Those kinds of petty penalties just drive people away from communities like this.

What I’m actually trying to say is that the guy mentioned in the thread title is actually an emotionally mature individual. He deserves some credit. He doesn't just hand out mindless bans for trolling, spamming, or being slightly off-topic. Instead, he handles things with the composure of a real teacher—a grown-up. He issues warnings, people actually respect him, he gets intelligent humor, and he manages a huge crowd of active users without breaking a sweat... I shouldn't praise him too much, though.

Now, Ms. fairy isn't a bad person, but she really ought to spend more time over at Cocaine Nights.

But seriously, that guy is a rare breed of moderator. He has incredible self-control and he's honest—which I assume go hand in hand. He doesn't go off like some trigger-happy gunslinger with a chip on his shoulder just because nobody's shot him yet...

If that moderator ever decides to flag me, I'll know I actually messed up. I won't go crying to anyone about it. They're hard to find, those types...

If only he were my brother-in-law😁

The whole point of this thread is for the benefit of everyone—to educate the mods, the regular posters, and even the lurkers who just watch the chaos unfold.

It's a simple question, really;

I don't care about your opinion on who the "best" moderator is. What I want to know is how YOU feel when you get hit with a completely senseless penalty—something that, in the grand scheme of your actual life, means absolutely nothing!!!

Oh, you know, I’m devastated. I can't sleep, I'm buying knitting supplies, stocking up on Prazina 100 mg, hoarding liters upon liters of bourbon... I'm calling the local news stations, reaching out to major TV networks, filing complaints with the Supreme Court... just the usual routine, really.🤷
