Is spirituality a form of personal growth? in Spirituality ·
Noah Sanchez7 said:That's just not true. Our humanity, which is what actually sets us apart from animals, isn't defined by the ego. Saying the ego is the only thing separating us from the animal kingdom is a huge mistake.

It may not be the only factor, but it remains critical because the ego is the primary mechanism through which we interface with the external world.

So, I ask you: what else distinguishes us from animals if we set the ego aside?

Without the ego, we are nothing more than animals drowning in an endless sea of brotherhood and oneness.

Rest assured, I certainly didn't ban you based on your ethnicity or the color of your hair.

William Reed said:I went ahead and included a link to a highly engaging quiz, which should serve as a decent starting point if you actually want to learn something about the religions you seem so fond of.😳

The link I mentioned is part of the extensive discussion thread I already directed you all toward.

Jason Johnson4 said:God, what an incompetent moderator.

Pedagogy? Zero points.

As for inventiveness and entrepreneurship? Nowhere to be found.

Wit? Absolute zero signal.😬

Tact? Don't even get me started.

But I suppose we haven't exactly earned anything better, have we?😳

How am I supposed to handle this any other way when dealing with people like you, who seem to thrive on insults and fabricating data about me?

The very definition of "itd" is just plain amateurish.

William Reed said:So what if there’s already a similar thread?

Given that I’m already aware of that specific quiz from the previous discussion, where exactly is the issue with me linking it to this new thread? If the subject matter is essentially the same—which, frankly, they are—why shouldn't it be allowed if it adds value to the conversation?

The title of this thread is "What is your religion," not "Take this quiz if you don't know what your religion is."

If you truly cannot see the distinction there, then I am afraid there is nothing more I can do to help you.

William Reed said:It isn't just about deleting posts; they are moving them to a so-called "dumping ground" for our threads, which is nothing short of a public disgrace.image

Look, calling it a disgrace is an exaggeration. It’s simply a dedicated chat thread created specifically to prevent other topical discussions from being cluttered with off-topic chatter.

If you feel insulted by this, then perhaps you should start posting content that actually aligns with the subject matter at hand. It is time to start acting like responsible adults instead of behaving like children.

As I have previously indicated in an earlier post, a discussion regarding this exact subject matter already exists.

"Instinct," "Gotham City," and "waiting for death in Denver."

🤔 It makes me wonder just how many other cinematic masterpieces I’ve let slip through my fingers, considering I stumbled upon these three entirely by accident.

I have already made my position quite clear regarding these hollow, circular questions that lead absolutely nowhere. Besides, there is an entire separate thread dedicated to spirituality for those who simply enjoy the sound of their own voices talking about it.

Oh, here we go again with this typical New Age relativism where everything is suddenly up for debate.

It always follows the same tired pattern: it depends on this, it depends on that... they'll invent any excuse just to avoid admitting that things actually depend on them. 😉

That’s none of my business.
My concern lies specifically with the potential for brainwashing to be weaponized; because, if we are being honest and following your logic, some level of indoctrination seems to be an absolute prerequisite for any meaningful progress or collective productivity to take place.
Adam Ross4 said:Ryan Wilson2 mentioned he had something extra to add... 🙂

Your description was quite vivid, but tell me: why do you assume your rhetoric holds more weight than theirs?

If I truly believe I possess a quality product that can benefit people, then I see no issue with promoting it to ensure it reaches those who need it. As for all this talk of determination, esoteric theories, and claims regarding higher planes of existence—those are merely frameworks that some choose to embrace while others disregard entirely.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but it seems to me you haven't delved deeply enough into spiritual leadership, practical application, or the rigorous study of sacred texts. Had you done so, you might have identified the far more insidious methods of indoctrination used by certain spiritualists. Before tackling those complexities, however, I would strongly suggest picking up a few foundational books on psychology and empirical science. 😉

One doesn't necessarily need twenty years of meditation to see results; two years of dedicated practice is often sufficient to trigger significant shifts. Of course, that assumes one actually has the time...
Of course I have more to contribute. If you truly intend to be credible, then perhaps you should explain exactly why those specific traits are considered flaws in the first place.

Jacob's Ladder in Movies ·
This is an absolute masterpiece, one I’ve revisited several times now.

While this particular theme has been explored by filmmakers many times before, in my estimation, this film handles it with the most conviction and visual elegance 🙂 ever captured on screen.

To be honest, during my first viewing, I completely missed that sudden, jarring voice that breaks through during one specific scene 😉
The Watch (2004) in Movies ·
I finally caught a viewing of it just a few days ago 😁

What really appeals to me is the subject matter; there is a wealth of fascinating magical principles woven deeply into the narrative 😉
Dark City vs. The Matrix in Movies ·
Ah, I have two absolute favorites, but let's be honest—Dark City is far superior to the other...
