How do I download videos from Dailymotion? in Software ·
copperotter65 said:I installed DownloadHelper.

Moving on to step two. Here are the instructions. 😁

Sure, if you have the time right now.
If you don't have it yet, just give me an ETA. I have no interest in typing out a single sentence every other day.

If it plays fine in QuickTime and you happen to have the Pro version (though I'm not certain if Pro is even necessary), try exporting it to a different format. Go to "File" -> "Export" -> select something like "Movie to Avi," then hit "Options." Under the "Video" section, click "Settings" if you want to tweak things...

P.S.
In QuickTime (assuming you have Pro), you can define your start and end points. Use those sliders that pop up in the bottom left corner—at the very beginning at 00:00:00—by hovering your mouse over the timeline bar. Once set, go to "Edit," click "Trim to Selection," then follow the usual path via "File" -> "Export," etc. You can even export back to the original format ("Movie to QuickTime Movie").

No offense intended, but simply stating "this isn't real, therefore it can't exist" doesn't really cut it as a logical argument.

I'm not convinced that "this isn't real, therefore it can't exist" constitutes a valid response to baseless claims.

Regarding the afterlife—that’s what you're after...
Is there any evidence supporting an afterlife? * /This serves as an answer to "how one distinguishes..."/

*If yes, list them. Full proof isn't necessary; even a minor hint pointing toward the possibility will do.

Good grief. Evolution is supposedly the easiest concept to grasp, yet here we are. Where did you even pick up such an idea? (I haven't been following all your posts—I only noticed you during that "quclpocl..." bit, so forgive the surprise)

Fundamentally, everyone trusts their own brain. However, not every brain is equally capable of processing the data available to its "owner"—or comparing that data against reality when necessary.
(Assuming, of course, that the quantity and quality of information held by everyone were actually equal. Reality remains constant for us all)...

If God wiped out evil entirely, life would lose its purpose. Perfection is boring.

Then there’s no point in even discussing "life after death"—the whole concept of ultimate bliss in heaven versus absolute misery in hell becomes completely meaningless.

That’s why you have to fight Satan on your own.

And why on earth would someone want to strip the meaning out of their own existence? You’re claiming that without evil, life loses its purpose. That's a stretch.

Satan drives people to commit evil.

Satan wants life to have purpose. A meaningless existence is evil, isn't it? And that’s why a good God wouldn't want to destroy evil in the first place. Or is that how you see it?

God never sleeps. If you reach out, He’s there. We’re the ones who need to stay awake, not Him.

And why stay awake? Just in case God decides to throw something good our way right when we’ve finally managed to balance out all the evil—you know, the moment we actually figure out how to run our own lives.

So, you’re claiming twenty years? That's a stretch.

If you need it urgently, then there's no point in waiting. This is it. The free version is...Download NowNo.Or...Better than nothing, I guess.Setting up a fade-in in MediaMonkey isn't exactly intuitive. It’s not a one-click deal. You have to work through the playback settings. First, get into your preferences. Look for the playback section. From there, you need to locate the crossfade options. If you want a smooth transition where one track fades in while another fades out, ensure the crossfade duration is set to something reasonable—maybe five or six seconds if you want that classic DJ feel. If you're looking for a specific volume ramp at the start of a single track rather than a transition between two songs, MediaMonkey doesn't handle individual file "fade-in" metadata natively like a dedicated DAW would. You're essentially relying on the crossfade function to bridge the gap between tracks. Keep it simple. Adjust the slider, test it, and move on. Ten seconds. That's all it takes.
If you want, just create an empty folder on your desktop first. During installation, check the "portable" box and select that folder as your installation path.

Or. This is it.... or what? This is it....

Or just use Google. Search for keywords like "crossfade," "audio player," and "how to." Simple.

If you don't have Adobe Photoshop, just download GIMP (look for "GIMP for Windows"). It's free.

From another thread:
coppersailor28 said:Try using GIMP.
Open the image, go to the toolbar, click "Layer," then select "Add Alpha Channel" under "Transparency" (this ensures the background turns transparent—the checkerboard look—once you start erasing).
Then, one option is to select the "Eraser Tool" and start wiping away the background. You can adjust the opacity and scale via the settings.

To finish, use "Save as" and under "+ Select File Type(...)" choose "PNG image". That way, the saved file actually keeps the transparent background.

It won't work in Microsoft Paint (at least not on Windows XP—I can't speak for Windows 7).

Since you mentioned having Adobe Photoshop, check here. /Nothing groundbreaking or vital... just one of those million random Photoshop tutorial pages./

Corel Photo-Paint? (Fair enough, you did post this in the PP thread... but looking at everything—your experience level and the whole "never heard of a transparent background" thing—it sounds like you're actually talking about Windows Paint)

Fine. Let's split the credit: Windows Movie Maker.

You didn't even mention the video format (and even if you did, we'd be in the same boat...).
"Those things" don't usually work that way. You can't just expect one single program to solve everything the moment a need arises.

Back in May, American astronomers discovered Gliese 581 D, located roughly 20 light-years away; it’s about six times the size of Earth and part of a system containing at least six planets. Then, just three months later, a Swiss person reported that another planet, HD 85512b, sitting 36 light-years out, might actually be habitable. This particular planet, tucked away in the Veli valley, has a mass approximately 3.6 times that of Earth.

Daniel Ward87 said:Look, you've gotta realize people have the right to be whoever they want—even if that means being thieves or killers. But at the end of the day, their actions are still gonna trigger a massive social backlash.
It’s just like racists. People have the right to be whoever they want and say whatever they please. It's their choice. But at the end of the day, their actions trigger reactions, and whether those reactions are fair is definitely up for debate.

Bottom line: they have no right.
"Listen, officer, I have every right to kill this man, and you can wait until then to react according to whatever protocol you claim to follow. Actually, scratch that—you don't have any authority over me. I have the right to kill him."

It’s the same logic applied to racists. People have the right to be whoever they want and say whatever they want. It's their choice. Of course, their actions are subject to consequences. Whether those consequences are warranted is something people can argue about.

Picture this: someone posts some racist garbage on a forum and gets banned—presumably because nobody actually has the right to spew that kind of hate. So, they hop over to a second site, get banned there too. They move to a third. Eventually, they find themselves with nowhere left to go. But suddenly, everyone starts acting like they have a "right" to be a racist? Follow that logic. It doesn't hold up.
