I don't have one.

Well, I certainly thought I did.
Flower Child said:A lot of these Eastern "philosophies" are basically just perfect marketing gimmicks used to fleece Americans for easy money. What's funny is that most actually educated people from those regions don't buy into the hype at all—they usually just give a sarcastic smirk when they see how obsessed Westerners get over things like Feng Shuij, ginseng, and all that other nonsense. 🙂 🙂 🙂 😎 👋

I'm not sure if people from the East are truly that anti-Western, but there's no doubt about how obsessed the West is. 😁

It's like what some Chinese guy once said (can't remember where I read it)—back in China, there are only a handful of true masters of Feng Shuij, yet here in the States, you can find them on every single street corner. 😁
Doctors' strike in Health ·
Sometimes I actually find myself missing the old days of strict government control. Sending people out to do hard labor in the middle of nowhere for a few years just to teach them a lesson... $3333 they’d have nothing left to show for it when they finally returned 😁

As for healthcare, all I hear are horror stories about how patients are treated. Honestly, maybe full privatization is the answer here. Patients are complaining, hospitals aren't seeing any profit, and doctors are getting fired left and right 🤔
What are you doing to stay healthy? in Health ·
I’m basically training my fingers through constant typing and working on my wrist flexibility with the mouse. Plus, I’ve mastered the art of sitting in an office chair all day long.

I make sure to detox my system regularly with plenty of craft beer.

And I keep my physique in peak shape thanks to a steady diet of junk food.

At this rate, I might just live to be 120. 😂
Agritourism in Travel ·
In my neck of the woods, we have the perfect setup for growing some serious agritourism (around the Moslavina area)... so I’m wondering, who actually gives a damn about that besides old folks looking for a nostalgia trip? Is there any real money to be made here?

The first part was incredible, but I have no idea what to expect from the sequel. I might head out to catch it this Saturday.

Staying at Sai baba's followers' ashram is basically free. It costs next to nothing—just about $6.75 per week (or ten days, if I remember correctly)—which, given what flights cost us, is practically peanuts. It’s way cheaper than booking a private hotel in India. Plus, everything is super clean and well-kept.
The food is also incredibly cheap and delicious. (That is, excluding the Western-style cafeteria; they have North Indian and South Indian options too, where the food is actually *so* much better. Seriously good stuff. 🙂 For instance, in the South Indian section, you can grab all the rice and veggies you want for maybe 40 cents.)
I honestly recommend anyone who wants to experience India, or really dive deeper into who Sai baba is, save up for that plane ticket and head to Puttaparthi.
Safety-wise, both inside the ashram and in Puttaparthi itself, it's very high. I don't think anything bad has ever happened to a Westerner there (though you probably shouldn't go wandering around late at night), but occasionally thieves show up during those massive festivals when the crowds are huge, looking for an easy target. You still have to watch your wallet, though. That's true everywhere.
On a side note, if anyone is struggling with addiction—even the heavy stuff—I truly believe this is a great place to find a smooth way out of it.

Come on, "cheap" and "free" are two very different things. Sure, the ashram is more affordable than a private rental, but there are even cheaper options out there, including free ones. By the way, it all depends on whether you're sleeping in a shed or a real room. Same goes for the food.
India is generally affordable for anyone with a bit of experience and willingness (though, let's be real, they charge Americans way more than locals).
As for safety, the town itself isn't exactly a fortress; there have been several murders reported, and some estimates say the numbers are climbing toward a hundred.
Personally, I haven't felt that way, but it’s not any safer than Rishikesh, for example.
And if you want to claim nothing bad ever happens, you could hang a cat by its tail. 😉
I'm not talking about the petty theft that's just part of life there.

If I were an addict, I’d look for a more grounded ashram. Honestly, Prashanti isn't even an ashram; it's more like a semi-Westernized urban hub filled with a bunch of brainwashed idiots. I wouldn't recommend Puttaparthi to anyone who actually wants to experience the real India or has serious spiritual intentions (sadhana). But hey, if you just want to watch a crowd of empty-headed people worshiping a self-proclaimed God as a way to escape their daily struggles and frustrations, then by all means, go right ahead.

Nathan Taylor60: I honestly can't believe there's someone else involved... looking back at how she was acting right before things fell apart—like how she kept pushing to go back to that spot where we had our first kiss—it’s obvious she was just trying to jumpstart some kind of spark.

But hey, if her heart is actually set on someone else, I'm not going to hover or make her life difficult. I won't stand in her way.

Alright, I guess it looks like I earned my "wedding ring" fair and square 🙂 but honestly, I really cherished that time... It feels like we didn't even scratch the surface of everything we could have experienced together, you know? It’s just one of those things where it felt like "the future had other plans for us."

Just to be clear, I’m not coming from a place of desperation here. I know my worth and I know there are plenty of other women out there. I’m just wondering—how much breathing room should I actually give a girl to process everything on her own? I don't want to rush it, because nobody changes their entire life overnight, but I also don't want to wait so long that all the feelings just fade into nothing...

By the way, who was the one bringing up the 3.14th anniversary... 😁 😁 😁

...In just about a month, several of my friends have had long-term relationships fall apart... I kept feeling bad for them, thinking "that would never happen to me," until it hit me home the day before yesterday. 😢

Still, I’ve got this tiny shred of hope that I can fix things on my end (even if it won't be an overnight fix), so I'm posting here to see if you guys can give me some advice...

Here’s the situation... My girlfriend lives in another city (not too far, maybe about 40 miles away), and since I’m in my final year of college, I’ve been absolutely buried under coursework and responsibilities. All of that meant I could only see her about once a week, which just wasn't enough for her. I’ll admit it—she was right. I totally neglected her and didn't do a great job showing her how much I care. Then, the day before yesterday, she calls me up and says the distance and lack of time finally took its toll. She told me she's started seeing me more as a friend and that we need to break up. 😢 I had a pretty emotional reaction to it, and honestly, I'm a little embarrassed about how I handled myself...

The next day (yesterday), I managed to pull myself together, called her back, and asked: if we take some time apart, and I work on myself to fix the reasons why we were unhappy, could we eventually get back together? She said I definitely should do that work, though she wouldn't promise anything. Her main condition is that I finish my degree and actually find some free time. I told her, "Okay, that's all I needed to hear," and then we ended things...

So, what's my move? I really care about her (there's a lot more to it than I can explain without rambling, and I don't want to overwhelm you guys), and I want to play this smart. I realize this might be the permanent end and there might be nothing I can do, and luckily, my self-esteem hasn't tanked so hard that I feel like she's the only woman on Earth—I just want to do everything in my power to make this work... So,

How long should I wait before calling her again?
Should I do something special for our two-and-a-half-year anniversary, or should I hold off?
Is there anything else I should be doing?

Help me out!
Wait, what?
I mean, obviously—if you aren't paying attention to whether you're actually on your period or not, you're basically asking for trouble.

Back to square one for me. I still have no clue if it's actually harmful or not.

The only thing I've figured out so far is that sparkling water can basically dissolve meat in a glass. 😁

It's definitely harmful. 😁

Just like pretty much everything else you eat, probably. 😛

Oh, come on, stop overthinking everything! 🙄 😁
I truly believe that anyone who takes a hard look at their own suffering will realize two things: first, there’s absolutely no reason to suffer, and second, you don't even have the time for it. But most importantly? You'll find that suffering isn't even real. There is pain, sure, but suffering is a whole different story.

That’s a solid point, Rachel Bishop 🙂

Moderator, I honestly feel like we’re all actually pretty happy—we either just don't realize it or we're trying our best to ignore it.
