I’m posting with my old username because I had a new one, but then someone decided to reinstall Windows for me (yeah, let's just say he wasn't exactly being careful) and, naturally, everything I had was wiped out... I tried telling him nicely that he should've checked with me first so I could back everything up, but he just had to do it right then and there. Ufffff... It's true, I did get an SSD upgrade, but now I have absolutely nothing on it. 🙂 Is there any way at all to recover my old password? Also, both my login email and password were saved in my old settings... Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Help me... 🙂
Reach out to Nica if anyone on here can actually sort this out, it's her. 🙂
So, you can't actually attach files when you're just sending a private message. I think they only enabled that feature for when you're making a new post on the board. Honestly, it’d probably be easiest if you just set up an account on some image hosting site—like Imgur or something—upload your picture there, and then just toss the link into the message.
Look, you don't need to run some massive political campaign just to land a moderator gig. And honestly, this PDF is meant for technical support, not for the kind of emotional validation or help you're actually hunting for, so... yeah, there's your answer. 😁
p.s. regarding your handle—aside from the whole election thing—you could seriously consider tweaking it into something a bit more creative, maybe even a little imaginative? Like, ditch the numbers so you actually look like a legitimate candidate who stands out and stays memorable, rather than just getting lumped in with all those other guys like brighthound8 or whatever random variations they use. 🙂
So, in your last post, you're basically gunning for more privileges because you consider yourself an MK veteran—or rather, you’re arguing that veterans should get special treatment within MK, if we’re being precise. I’m telling you right now, that just isn't going to happen. Everyone plays by the same rules and carries the same responsibilities (and by responsibilities, I mean actually following the forum guidelines). Sure, what Nica brought up is true in the sense that moderators might interpret certain rights a bit differently sometimes. And obviously, those who just show up to stir the pot or troll will end up with "fewer" rights, since they get spotted and sanctioned immediately, but you can't seriously demand that newcomers who join MK and happen to have a different opinion than yours be treated as having fewer rights than the old-timers. Any user who has access to MK can post whatever they want, provided they aren't breaking the rules.
Douglas Johnson41 said:Look, we aren't talking about hate speech here; it’s just how people talk on MK, whether you like it or not. Nobody is forcing anyone to write on MK or even bother reading posts. And honestly, it feels like total double standards: I mean, if one guy can call another guy out, or if some activist can label someone else, why can't an MK user do the same? What makes them somehow less valid than everyone else? To really get MK and the way debates go down there, you kind of have to be an MK user at heart, which is hard to explain to someone who doesn't hang out on the site... and the real headache starts when these outsiders show up on MK trying to act like they know better, then the old-school MK users clap back, and suddenly everything starts shifting to accommodate the newcomers... they come in all wild and end up driving away the regulars.👎 Basically, what I'm saying is: if you're always posting on MK, you should probably have more say than the tourists. If a newbie wants to be part of MK, they should adapt to us, rather than expecting MK to change for them.
Does everyone really need to have the exact same rights? I'd say they do. Forum rules are supposed to apply to everyone equally, regardless of how many posts you've made or how long you've been around.
Also, this whole labeling thing is starting to cross a line and get pretty distasteful. It’d probably be best to just drop it—along with all this debating over who's allowed to post on MK and who isn't. Since nobody seems interested in actually dropping links to specific rule violations, I guess we might as well just lock this thread.

Honestly, for a blunder like that, I probably should just lock this whole thing up. 😬
Douglas Johnson41 said:Basically, they’re cracking down on the exact way people talk on MK, which is literally the whole reason anyone even bothers showing up there in the first place. Even just hinting that things might get a bit heated makes the mods jump in with threats about bans and deleting posts whenever they feel like it. That’s why you can’t even drop a link without trouble; threads just vanish or get hidden, and posts get nuked left and right.
Look, maybe give me an actual example of a thread where you think they're just deleting stuff for no reason? I can see some deleted posts in here myself, so I might as well take a look if you point me in the right direction.
Douglas Johnson41 said:The old guard of Dorian fans gets it, and honestly, if any supermod is actually keeping an eye on Dorian, they probably feel the same way too.
I mean, it would be a lot easier for everyone else—including me, I guess—if you guys just dropped some actual links and got straight to the point. Just throwing out these vague accusations without being specific... well, like Dorian was saying, we aren't really going to get anywhere with that approach.
Man, whenever I think back to this movie, I honestly get chills. 🙂 It’s just such a heavy, beautiful ride. The casting was spot on, the acting was incredible, and the story? Even better.
10/10
Regarding that whole "typical role" comment, I think rustydrifter10 probably just meant the actors really nailed their parts and seemed totally comfortable in their own skin there. Like, Hillary is just one of those actresses who is naturally gifted at those deeply emotional roles—most of her stuff leans that way anyway. You look at a movie like P. S. I love you, for example, and she played a super emotional character there too. 🙂
Usually, when someone gets a warning, those posts end up getting nuked entirely. But honestly, there isn’t really a hard rule about that; it just kind of depends on how each individual moderator decides to handle things. One mod might slap a warning on a post but leave it sitting right there in the thread, while another might just wipe the whole thing from existence. Either way, though, it doesn't mean the post actually disappears from the eyes of the admins, especially if someone ends up filing an appeal against their warning.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that just making general comments about how a certain moderator is doing their job isn't going to help anyone. It's not a real way to guide anything, and it certainly won't lead to any actual solutions or resolutions for anyone involved.
If you guys have specific instances where you think something went wrong—and I mean actual, concrete situations that you can back up with direct links—then go ahead and post them. We can sit down, hash it out, and actually figure out what's really going on.
Honestly, after seeing this, I feel like you’re gonna end up totally rethinking what counts as the best movie in this genre. This one is just seriously good. 🙂 Fixed the title. 🙂
Edward Price6 said:It’s pretty funny how everyone keeps clinging to this Americanized version of things that I didn't even bring up in the first place.
If I remember right, it was an English phrase—more like a little catchphrase you say, you know? It doesn't carry that heavy baggage people are trying to force onto it.
'In your faces, haters!' — it basically means the same thing. You can't just barge into a thread like that. The post was rightfully deleted.
I guess I come off as annoying because I’m always starting threads or filing complaints (though I didn't bother with the banned or warned threads since nobody was actually getting banned or warned then), but honestly, this is the only way to leave a paper trail for these incidents. Otherwise, everything just gets wiped away like nothing ever happened, and nothing changes. It really bugs me when threads just get shut down without anything being fixed. Then I have to start a whole new thread because the old one was closed for no reason, even though we could've just kept the conversation going. It seems obvious.
Look, I never said you were being annoying. If you feel like your posts are being nuked for no reason or you got a warning without any explanation, you can ask why. Send a DM or post it here. But not directly inside the threads themselves. From now on, doing that will always result in the post being deleted and you getting a warning. You aren't allowed to call out the mods within the actual discussion threads.
The issue is again that something totally harmless gets deleted, while much worse stuff stays up, simply because I know this moderator has it out for me and jumps at every single word I say. It’s getting ridiculous. Even people are sliding into my DMs to complain or offer support, telling me I need to delete my posts immediately because apparently the mods can see those too (I had no idea that was possible), and it feels like people are living in fear. That shouldn't happen in a place that's supposed to promote free speech—like an online forum.
As for all this talk about which moderator has a grudge against whom, I'm not going there, because it's pointless. If you want to make claims like that, you need to back them up with links.
Regarding this specific situation and the appeal, it's pretty straightforward to me. You posted something provocative using what you call a 'catchphrase,' the mod stepped in and legitimately removed it. You tried to argue about it right there in the thread, and that's just not how this works. I don't see any insults coming from the moderator. And that 'how old are you, five?' comment... I mean, you jump into a topic shouting 'In your faces, haters!' and then expect some kind of constructive dialogue after a troll post? Yeah, that's not happening.
As far as I'm concerned, this is explained and settled.
Look, aside from the fact that your deleted post could easily be seen as straight-up trolling, the moderator making the call to wipe it was totally justified. What really gets under my skin, though, is how you constantly jump in to lecture the mods every single time they take action on one of your posts.
The discussion threads aren't the place to go poking around and asking why a post got nuked, why you got a warning, or whatever else. You've got private messages for that—that's your right, you can reach out to a mod and ask for an explanation on why you caught a strike or why a post vanished. You can even hit me up since I'm a supermod here, and besides, you've always got the FBI to deal with.
And honestly? Coming into threads just to drop stuff like "hey haters, suck it" or whatever other nonsense? That’s a hard no.
Oh, really? 😁 Then I guess I totally mixed things up. But yeah, I was actually talking about that whole bit with the cake and the daydreaming stuff—honestly, I'm just not feeling it.
I mean, I don't even know if you're a fan of Melissa or if those kinds of roles just aren't your thing. To be honest, they all kind of feel the same anyway, whether it's Heat, Identity Thief, and stuff like that. For me though, the movie was actually pretty good. I wasn't going in expecting some hilarious comedy masterpiece, but it wasn't bad at all. I really dig her as an actress, and I feel like she somehow manages to save these lazy, half-baked scripts just by showing up on screen. 🙂
Edward Price6 said:I can't really wrap my head around the descent part anymore, but are you actually positive they fixed things up at the end? Or was that just some kind of PTSD thing? Maybe I watched some weird alternative cut or something. !
Man, I honestly don't even remember it clearly since it's been forever, but if I recall correctly, she crawls through all those bones, somehow manages to get into a car, and just keeps driving. Then, it’s like she wakes up and realizes the whole thing was just a fever dream—she crawls back to that hole and finds this old creep waiting there, someone who obviously knew about the creatures in those pits and was basically feeding them.
