Diaspora Moderator - Ironing Man in Feedback & Suggestions ·
coppernomad28 said:"you're acting arrogant, you're being condescending, there's zero cooperation between moderators and users" — honestly, you built this bed yourself. You set this tone from day one.
I mean, by your twisted logic, we welcomed Skate the exact same way, right? But apparently, we didn't...

"Because you're breaking the rules. Rules I've committed to protecting. And I intend to keep doing just that." — please. As a moderator, you committed to a dozen other duties too, none of which you actually bother to do. So, I'll say it again: if you hate the diaspora so much, then just leave... I certainly wouldn't stick around for a job I despise.

I'm not even going to dignify those other "you're worthless" litanies with a response. I refuse to sink to your level, which is clearly something you've mastered with those threatening posts you aimed at us "kids" in the chat.
I get the feeling you'd love nothing more than to keep beating us over the head whenever you feel like it, but those impulses are yours alone. The rest of us are just left guessing what's going on in that head of yours.

My suggestion? Get off the throne. Either quit the diaspora entirely or try joining us on a normal, human level...

Your little proposal was rejected. Both parts of it.

My actual suggestion to my colleagues is this: just shut this whole thing down because... honestly, I mean it. 😁
Diaspora Moderator - Ironing Man in Feedback & Suggestions ·
First, thanks to my colleagues for the support. Now, let’s lay this out clearly:

- It's bad when I'm not around.
- It's bad when I am around.
- It's bad when trolls harass you (just look back at how much everyone cried about getting Papa Smurf removed).
- It's bad when trolls, trolling, or spamming actually get sanctioned.
- It's bad when someone tries to join the discussion—because apparently, what could a random American woman living in Los Angeles possibly have to say to you? Just some mindless nobody, right?
- It's bad when people DON'T participate—because clearly, it's my sacred duty to force high-quality conversation (an argument you pull out like you're trying to squeeze free moonshine out of a dry stone), while completely ignoring the fact that YOU are the ones supposed to be providing 99% of the intelligence here.
- Every single moderator in the history of the diaspora is worthless. Every one of them! They're just monsters put there specifically to abuse you poor souls. And you won't even lift a finger to call any of them, or me, out when it's deserved.
- It's bad if there's no moderation, because then the trolls kill you.
- It's bad when people are punished, because... what trolls? You're just swatting mosquitoes.
- It's bad when people ask you questions (and I'm talking about the users)... because why should they bother pestering you a hundred times about the same thing? (I'll cite Vilk and Nicole Morales3 as clear exceptions here... if I missed anyone, my apologies... the diaspora does have quality users. But then there's that annoying disability where a handful of people make it their life's mission to destroy this thread and then blame the moderators for it.)
- It's bad when people don't ask you, because what do they know about life in the diaspora? Who are they to lecture you anyway?
- It's always bad.
- Everything is bad.

Moving on:

I still don't see a single damn example of poor moderation on my part. Something was deleted? Fine. Name it. We'll find it.

All I see are two or three of you who needed at least three warnings and a red card just to stop spitting on me from dawn till dusk and posting your grievances exactly where they belong. Like I said, I still don't see a single actual instance of wrongdoing. Just pure spite.

Discuss with you? You had your knives drawn before I could even get a word in. You act arrogant, you act condescending, and there is zero talk of cooperation between moderators and users... so what am I supposed to discuss with you? I don't want to. I'm not interested in that kind of communication. Dozens of high-quality users I could actually relate to are perpetually drowned out by a few of you who have decided you're the local sheriffs. I have nothing to talk to you about. Besides, that isn't even my primary job. My job is to keep order in this thread... which is practically impossible (see my "It's bad when..." section above). As you all love to point out—I don't engage with you. So, am I the one trolling? Am I the one spamming? Am i the one being abusive? Or are you all just responsible for your own mess?

There is an entire dimension of mental wrecks who clone themselves faster than rabbits, making sure every single morning a new "world class whore" PM is waiting in my inbox (we're talking dozens of PMs, not just trolls... and even they are plenty) I won't even mention it.

So? Where is the error? Why can't the super-moderator see it? Why can't the admins see it? Why is it always the same group of people pointing fingers? Is it because I refuse to be their little friend? Boo-hoo. Rewind the tape and think about how you treated your friends versus how you treat people trying to enter your sub-forum... and there's your reason why I won't socialize with you. Doing so doesn't break any rules.

And why am I handing out cards and deleting posts? Look, it's simple: Because you're breaking the forum rules. Rules I committed to protecting. And I intend to keep doing exactly that.

Disclaimer: I am glad this petty bickering is finally being put in its place. I have made myself clear. That is all you are getting from me. Don't expect a twenty-five-page debate. If the admins decide I acted wrongly, they will sanction me just as I sanction you. And get it through your heads: I didn't just wake up one morning and decide to ruin your thread or systematically target someone personally. You aren't that important.
Who's the admin on Reddit? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Getting a notification saying you need an explanation? Honestly, that’s just pure provocation. But fine, whatever:

Look, I don't have a personal vendetta against you—I don't even know who you are. What I do know is your track record on this Reddit thread. And your "contribution" consists of absolutely nothing except jumping from one topic to the next, trying to stir the pot and bait everyone posting here, all while using a handful of burner accounts to back yourself up. That isn't participating in a community; it’s systematic, malicious trolling. As for the partial ban—while I was the one who requested it, the admins are the ones who approved and enforced it. It’s the direct result of a massive group of frustrated users demanding action and the moderators agreeing with them.

So, there’s no grudge here. My life is much easier without these mindless online wars. But you crossed the line a long time ago. It just took this long for the consequences to finally catch up with you.

thanks 🙂

Jeremy Alvarez5 said:Luke 11:24 "When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it heads for arid places seeking rest. When it cannot find it, it says, `I will return to the house I left.`
Luke 11:25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and perfectly put in order.
Luke 11:26 Then it goes out and takes with it seven other spirits even more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.

I guess when someone deals with stuff like aggression, paranoia, depression, or those darker impulses, and they happen to stumble upon—maybe by chance or maybe through 1. connecting with people who actually help by having honest conversations and pointing out the issues, or 2. just working through it themselves using books, movies, or even just observing nature and animals—they finally figure out what’s wrong with their behavior and manage to suppress those old patterns. But once they do that, this void starts to appear where those behaviors used to be. Those things were basically the ego's defense mechanisms, the ways they "navigated" life.

So, if those outbursts or depressive episodes were triggered by certain specific things, and now the person doesn't react that way anymore because they've realized it was toxic—well, they're stuck in a weird middle ground. They've stopped the bad behavior, but they haven't quite figured out a new, healthy way to actually engage with life and other people yet.

To me, solving these problems isn't really about chasing happiness; it's more about finding a way to be at peace with yourself. That's why I think pills, therapy sessions, or just talking don't really do much if a person has lost their internal compass.

Self-actualization is really about having the guts to live authentically. Being truthful means loving freedom enough to accept yourself, flaws and all. In that sense, everyone carries their own "cross," but Jesus, who trusts in God and has faith, says that His "burden" is light.

Once a person accepts their negative traits—once they stop building these fake versions of themselves and stop fighting for status or trying to compensate for low self-esteem by begging for validation from others—and they just accept their social standing for what it is, that's when peace shows up. You start trusting the future, and that peace gives you the space to actually achieve everything. It all kind of starts in the mind, with your own consciousness...

We really need to look out for our mental hygiene. It feels like some therapists mostly lean toward sedating people—which, honestly, is just a controlled way of drugging them, similar to how people use alcohol, drugs, or binge eating to cope. There are other ways people try to trap themselves just to avoid thinking, too, like becoming obsessed with work or some intense physical activity. It's all just an escape from the possibility of love. Real love means accepting people as they truly are, no matter what. People who are totally consumed by their goals or terrified of losing things (as if those goals hold all the value in the world) don't really have hope. Hope is what gives you the strength to believe things will be okay. Faith—including faith that there is something looking out for us, like a belief in God—helps too. But the biggest thing would be love, which doesn't set conditions for doing good. It's about living well without the constant fear of being "short-changed"... "love and do what you will."

Oh, give me a break... my little prayer group can't be serious. ☕

You think she’s obsessed... you know, with that constant head-turning thing? 😁

Samuel Grant54, don't get worked up. It’s just hormones. I’m twice your age and I still go on tear sessions where I smash things. Honestly, if I don't have my sister around to vent to, all hell breaks loose. I can't even begin to count how many phones, dishes, watches, handbags, or whatever else has been hurled at a wall, thrown out a window, or launched from a moving car.

The only thing I won't touch is the TV. In my house, that thing is practically sacred. 😁

If you’re still foaming at the mouth after an omelet like that, you’ve got bigger problems than just a bad breakfast.

Look, while you’re actually in a decent mood for once, do me a favor and go show some real love and appreciation to your sister. Seriously. If I were in her shoes, I’d have already laid you out. The woman has more class in her pinky finger than most people have in their entire lives. 🙏 🙏 🙏

What a shame.

I’d love to know what was actually hidden behind that phrase seriously undermining the artistic integrity ...but fine, at least we got four seasons. I’m looking forward to watching it with my grandkids later on.

🙂

They canceled it? You mean they aren't filming any more? Are you kidding me?!

Every once in a while, they'll drop a total gem like My Name Is Earl, and then they just kill it because Americans apparently have zero sense of humor?! Meanwhile, that garbage involving Urkel and those other nonsense shows drags on for fifteen years... one show starts with a baby, and by the end, that kid is 25 with seven kids of their own...

And yet they cancel Earl...

Unbelievable. 🤷

I really hate long off-topic threads... I genuinely despise having to delete them.

Anyway, for some reason, I somehow missed Season 3, and now I’m binge-watching every single day and practically rolling around my room in excitement. 🤣 It’s the one show I could watch 57 times and still lose it laughing—plus, I keep stumbling upon episodes I haven't even seen yet. I am absolutely hooked.

That said, they really need to tone down Billie—she’s irritating through the screen and clearly just as annoying in person. 😁

It’s pretty easy to vent your rage on someone when you aren't even bothering to understand their struggle or their state of mind—isn't it? It’s the exact same logic used by the guy who kicked that cat.

Give me a break. Calling someone "mentally ill" is such a cheap shot... just like how every single testosterone-fueled meathead puffs his chest out in front of his little pack. Claiming someone is unstable just because they belong to a demographic with a long list of psychiatric diagnoses doesn't make them disordered. It just makes you a coward.

Please, for the love of God, tell me how you actually pulled that off...😁

You just give them a smack behind the ear, flip the little monkey over, and settle them down with three solid hits—two on the right, one on the left. Everything else is just extra credit.

I love proving the skeptics wrong. 😁

I absolutely loathe animal abusers. I’d subject them to the most brutal methods imaginable, heal them up, and then fillet them all over again.

Sorry, I have to start a new thread here... I don't see a dedicated discussion about diuretics. Because of some ongoing liver and kidney issues, I’ve been prescribed diuretics. I managed to flush out 12 pounds of water weight—god knows how many liters that actually is—but now everything is just constant, maddening itching. It’s especially intense in the areas where the edema used to be, like my legs and ankles. Is this actually normal?
Monsters Among Us in Psychology ·
I’ve always had a very simple solution for animal abusers (and honestly, I’ve tested it out a couple of times... let's just say this 6'5", 330-pound brute ended up sobbing right in the middle of Times Square, crying for his mama... I swear, true story). Whatever you do to an animal, you do to yourself. Period. Exactly the same way, under the exact same conditions. If I could, I’d write that straight into the Animal Welfare Act this very second. And I would enforce it religiously. I don't see the problem.

The guy’s right; it used to be 90 minutes... though he could also be right that they updated it since then.

Honestly, I’m getting sick of these apologies. I wouldn't mind if you guys were doing maintenance a couple of times a month, but having the site go down several times every single week is just ridiculous. Thanks for nothing! ☕ 🙂

Two months later

Dear admins, forum techs, experts, and whoever else is running this show!

The server is constantly crashing! Seriously, I’m about to lose my mind here, because every time I try to levitate over to the Sortilegio topic, the server goes down again!

To be blunt, these excuses are starting to grate on my nerves. If this happened once or twice a month, I could live with it, but multiple times a week? That’s way too much. Thanks a lot! ☕ 🙂

Jose Clark10 said:Long story short... a few months back, I noticed my vision in my left eye was starting to tank (I usually have a 2.25 prescription in my right, but the left was basically zero). I finally dragged myself down to the Mayo Clinic a couple of days ago. After running all sorts of tests—because they couldn't figure out why contact lenses weren't fixing my sight—one scan showed some kind of membrane over my cornea and some fluid buildup.

Now I'm stuck on a regimen of Andol 100, Normabel 5mg, and some allergy med, Letizen or whatever it’s called.

Has anyone else dealt with this? My doctor is claiming stress is the culprit. It's like how some people get a stomach ulcer from stress while others...

Look, I’m no medical expert... if she told you that, she probably knows what she's talking about. But between the Normabel and these cornea treatments, the costs are going straight into the gutter.

That Skopje isn't some major Albanian city!

@shree_kali

This is the second time. Read the chronological posts before this one—the ones that just got deleted because that user was calling me and my honesty slurs... there is absolutely no "insulting users" happening here!
It’s just a reaction to repeated insinuations and lies!

And if you're retaliating 😉just because I reported your trolling post about Mexico and then you deleted it, fine—at least issue a formal strike...😉

Unofficially: go crawl back to mommy... into the nursery (yeah, yeah, Scot, Tyn, laugh it up.. hairless chest types: 😁)

Officially: my reading is exactly what it should be. My opinions and conclusions—as they are for everyone, including certain users here 😉—must remain objective, even when dealing with nothing but relentless trolls. You received the most basic warning possible. It was for the rude tone in your post. I explicitly stated that in the post itself. Good grief, how much free time do you actually have to go on the offensive over such nonsense?

And let's get one thing straight right now (because I know exactly what's coming): if you start posting successive comments spaced closer together than a user can physically type them (I think the limit is 90 minutes), I will merge them for you from six feet under (if I haven't kicked you by then)... so hold your breath until you turn blue.

As for the bolded part, I’d write something, but I honestly can't stop laughing.🤣
