I’m honestly dying to know where Cameron is hiding right now, because if I had my way, I’d be casting my vote for him in a heartbeat! We absolutely cannot overlook his legacy—I mean, just look at the impact of Aliens, T1, T2, The Abyss, and let’s not even get started on the highly anticipated Avatar sequel coming our way soon.

I mean, there’s zero word on it anywhere, no announcements, nothing at all...
It was supposed to be playing in early April, but...
Because the reviews were absolutely brutal and the overall quality was just so poor, they pulled it from AMC Theatres and decided it would only be released straight to DVD
I have to be honest, this year hasn't exactly blown me away with its cinematic offerings. Most of my picks ended up being films that simply managed to keep me entertained rather than leaving me breathless.
1. Let the Right One In 2. WALL-E 3. The Dark Knight 4. John Rambo 5. Juno 6. [Rec] 7. Iron Man 8. Cloverfield 9. Indiana Jones 4 10. Mirrors
Honestly, what a disaster of a movie! The only reason I didn't turn it off halfway through was because Carla Gugino was actually on screen. She’s the sole thing keeping this from being a total waste of time.🙂
Well, I just finished watching it, and honestly? It was a letdown.
I’m genuinely struggling to understand what Hollywood was actually trying to achieve with this remake. Was the goal to prove they could handle a different language, or did they simply find the original version too intense and terrifying? I mean, what is the point of remaking a movie that was already fantastic—especially when the original came out just a year prior?
Don't get me wrong, the film isn't terrible on its own merits. If the original didn't exist, this would actually be quite good and pretty innovative! But as it stands? It feels totally pointless and redundant because there's already a much better version of this story out there.
I really, truly hope they don't try to film a remake of the second > installment that's supposed to drop next year.
There are three films out there, all by the same director, even though they look completely different from one another—so let's be honest, three isn't exactly a massive collection
I picked up this American version about two or three years ago, and honestly? I am absolutely blown away by the DVD quality! A buddy of mine grabbed the European market version in London just last year, and while they’re pretty much identical in terms of picture, the packaging was total junk and the bonus features were even more underwhelming.
p.s. Besides, why even stress about the American region coding? It isn't exactly rocket science to get a DVD player to decode it these days. Just do a quick Google search and you're good to go!
Well, I’m actually the one who started this thread 🙂 about 4 years ago.
Yeah, yeah—there’s a remake in the works, and unfortunately, from what I’ve been hearing, it doesn't look good at all. Word on the street is they might go with a CGI Freddy because it's cheaper than building practical prosthetics. Doesn't that just kill the whole essence of Freddy? It makes him way less terrifying! But hey, that’s just another move by the producers and the studio showing they're ready to cut corners on a remake. We can probably just expect a mediocre movie at this point.
God, I really hope these rumors turn out to be false.
By the way, if you asked me? I wouldn't even touch a remake. I’d rather see a direct sequel, because honestly, there is still so much untapped horror left to explore in the streets of any typical American suburb.
I’ve sat through both versions now. Honestly? The original holds its own, and I’d say the remake is just as solid. It isn't exactly reinventing the wheel, but it's definitely worth a watch if you have the time!
Jessica Alba is absolutely fantastic in the remake.
I honestly think fans of the original were being a bit too harsh with the criticism. The movie isn't bad at all! It’s true that it doesn't follow the original story very closely—aside from a few characters keeping the same names, of course. All in all, it was an entertaining watch, even if it wasn't anything groundbreaking.
Thank goodness I watched every single episode from start to finish, otherwise I would have lost my mind! One day they’re on, the next they’re off... it's just constant nonsense.
Honestly, even watching it all at once nearly pushed me over the edge! haha
