Just caught The Hurt Locker yesterday and honestly, I expected more. It’s a solid flick, but I don't think it deserved all that Oscar hype. Sure, maybe a few nods, but not everything—especially considering Avatar was right there in the mix. To me, Avatar felt like the better movie.
I'd put it at a 7/10, matching what cosmiclynx57 went with.
One of my all-time favorites from Colin Farrell, and honestly, one of my favorite movies ever. 😁 It’s wild that this was directed by the same guy who absolutely butchered Batman with that total disaster of a Batman & Robin. I think he actually had the potential to make a decent Batman, he just completely missed the mark on what makes the character work, 🤷 but that's a whole other conversation.

Fair point. But since they moved the setting back to the wilderness, at least it's not happening on our planet. Personally, I dig the second one way more than the third—the leads are actual badasses, there's better action, and you've got a single Predator that causes way more chaos than the whole squad in the third film combined. My only gripe is the location. It should've been set in some small forest town, kind of like the vibe in AVP 2, instead of right in the middle of Los Angeles.
To me, the second one’s basically just an action flick, while the third feels more like straight horror since it lacks that constant punch of action scenes. In the original, they nailed the balance—just the right amount of action mixed with that deep, gritty atmosphere. The first movie blends both genres perfectly, whereas the sequels lean way too hard into one or the other. That’s why the second and third entries don't even come close to the original, though they're still decent enough watches if you've got the time.

Eh, but they kind of messed it up there, because we already saw Predator during the healing scene and again when he shut off his cloak while hanging from the trees. 🙄

Man, how did I miss that. Kristanna Loken would be perfect for Red Sonja—tall, gorgeous, great build, and she’d probably actually deliver a better performance than her previous stuff. Plus, just tell her to dye her hair. 🙏🤣
He’s a decent action star and pulls off some solid flicks, but I can’t quite get past his look or the way he talks. Every time I hear his name being tossed around as a potential lead for those massive classics like The Terminator or Rambo, I just want to roll my eyes. 🤦
