Lupita Nyongo is such a great actress, even if she doesn't show up all that often... I guess she hadn't snagged an Oscar yet when they were filming this movie..
Nah, honestly, he’s more like a third or fourth tier guy. For the first hour, he’s basically just background noise.
The whole movie's paced all wrong. It starts with this quick montage of George rounding up the crew, then boom—next thing you know, they're right in the middle of the war acting like lifelong besties. They're cracking jokes and everything, but we haven't learned a single thing about them. You just don't care about any of them from the jump.
So many movies are all bright colors and happy tunes, then BAM—total spoilers hit you out of nowhere. It's like walking into a sunny Starbucks only to realize they ran out of caffeine. Halfway through, everything just turns dark and depressing. It’s not even because the deaths hit hard—it's just that you don't actually care who's kicking the bucket since you haven't even met them yet.
Wait, is someone actually trying to link Heat to this movie? lol 😂
honestly idk what universe people are living in where the sequel is better, the whole thing feels forced and just sad, plus that blindness subplot was easily the worst part of the movie
1. So you're saying his ex walks in with their kid and finds him hanging there? 2. And the whole police department knew he was spiraling this whole time and just covered for him anyway? 🤷
Yeah, he sends her some text or whatever and does it just to spite her, but the real kicker is his little girl walking in first and seeing him like that...
Yep, they knew from day one, but they were trying to look out for him as much as possible...
The ending hits different when he just stares right into the camera and drops that line, plus the way the character keeps breaking the fourth wall throughout the movie is such a vibe What I mean is, yeah, the ending is pretty far from what happened in the book, they totally shifted the focus, but they pulled it off perfectly so the movie actually works
honestly, this movie is a total trip a bit messy and chaotic at times, but it works Leonardo DiCaprio absolutely kills it, give him an Oscar already! 8/10
Yeah, there’s already a specific thread for Prisoners, so people can go over there and rave about it if they want. It isn't even on most lists, which makes it pretty OBVIOUS the movie isn't that great
