It isn’t so much that Mom is afraid she'll be the one facing legal action; it's more that we are all desperately hoping this nightmare of lies, theft, and sheer stupidity is finally behind us. Once he manages to return from rehab healthy and whole, we really wouldn't want him coming home to find a mountain of debt waiting for him—though I know some people here will inevitably say she brought this on herself.. And that debt isn't just sitting there; it's growing. Unfortunately, we had no idea the scale of it, and so far, not a single enforcement notice has arrived at the house. She holds a power of attorney he gave her before he entered rehab, so when she checked the records at the IRS, seeing the full extent of this was, naturally, a massive shock. Now, the only question left is how to handle this with the least amount of pain possible.
In any case, I think I'll suggest to her that we start reaching out to each creditor one by one to negotiate repayment plans, simply to stop those interest rates from spiraling into something truly astronomical.

What she found was quite significant—a total debt of $13 with interest reaching roughly $20 stemming from various sources (Verizon, AT&T, traffic fines, etc.). Can anyone suggest a way to stop this debt from spiraling? Is there any mechanism to halt the interest accrual, or perhaps a way to have some of it forgiven?.. It’s becoming incredibly difficult for Mom to cover this out of her own salary, and she’s feeling lost; she can’t take out a loan because she’s already maxed out on her existing credit.. If anyone understands the best course of action in a situation like this, please reach out with advice. I’ve been running into an issue with YouTube for a few days now. Certain videos simply won't load, leaving me with this message: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more."
It isn't happening with every video, though; some play perfectly fine without any hiccups. 🤦
The strange thing is, those exact same videos work flawlessly on my phone.
It was great. I found myself turning it on at midnight out of pure curiosity and ended up watching until 2 AM, despite having to be at work by 7 🙄

I had an encounter at Walmart recently where some older gentleman tried to shove his way past me because he’d left his groceries sitting there while he went to grab something else—leaving a full cart right in the middle of the aisle. I simply stepped ahead of him since I only needed two items, and just as I reached the front of the line, there he was, swooping in to claim he was there first. I just looked at him and said, "No problem at all, sir, I'm in no rush," though we both knew exactly what was happening. 🙄

I’m experiencing all of this myself... everyone I know—and even those who don't—insisted I was having a boy, except for my sister-in-law. She’s had two sons, yet she looked at me and knew immediately it was a girl, which is exactly how it turned out. 🤣 Regarding buying baby clothes or anything else before the due date, my mom and my aunts always used to say to wait, but since last week—especially after my recent scare that nearly landed me in the hospital—I’ve realized it isn't a joke; I just need to get the essentials and be done with it. We may be religious, but we aren't exactly saints when it comes to following every rule to the letter... And as for people telling you, "Oh, it's definitely a girl," I honestly have no words. I find myself agreeing with the first point—men are definitely more likely to play the gentleman than women are 🙏 To be honest, even now at 36 weeks pregnant, I can't say that being pregnant ever actually gives you an advantage 👎 I remember before I was pregnant, just watching those women with huge bellies lugging heavy grocery bags or standing in line for twenty minutes because some grumpy lady ahead of them—who probably worked the fields manually right up until her delivery—refused to let a pregnant woman go first 🙄 and I always let them go ahead of me... I haven't experienced that courtesy myself once, except for that single instance when a woman my age at Walgreens let me cut in front because her cart was overflowing. I didn't even ask, she just did it... the ONE AND ONLY time in 36 weeks of pregnancy
And then there’s the sheer annoyance of people coming at me with comments like, "Where is your bump?" (I'm carrying a small baby in here—YES, with emphasis on SMALL, you don't need to rub it in) or "You looked bigger in your fifth month," which, honestly, what is wrong with people?! Or the unsolicited medical advice: "You know, if the baby is breech, they'll have a flat head and hip issues..." Just complete nonsense
I've made a vow not to lecture my friends, acquaintances, or colleagues when they experience their first pregnancy just because I've been through it too. If someone asks for my input, I'll gladly help, but offering unsolicited advice is out of the question
Don't even get me started on the birth stories... You'll inevitably run into someone who tries to bring you down by describing their grueling labor. No, I wasn't under the impression it wouldn't hurt when this "tiny" creature is forced through a hole the size of a cucumber 🙄
Then there's the stuff about pets. We have a cat... and the constant, infuriating questions about how we'll manage with a cat. "You know they get jealous," "You won't be able to handle it," "Cat hair is toxic"... Honestly, just shut it. I'm not asking you to babysit my cat and my child; I'll figure out the logistics myself!!
Out of everything listed here, The Hills Have Eyes and The Thing are easily my top picks.
I’d throw a few more of my favorites into the mix: the entire A Nightmare on Elm Street series, Leprechaun—which was actually fun, even if it wasn't exactly terrifying—Land of the Dead (there's something much more unsettling about intelligent zombies than the usual mindless ones, though I suppose that's not a totally new concept), and for something more recent, Resident Evil (😁)—though the first one is far superior in my eyes. Oh, and I can't forget Halloween H2O... what can I say? I've always been a sucker for Michael Myers...
I’d say Adam Sandler is just mediocre at best. The only movie of his I could actually sit through more than once was Anger Management. Most of his roles just feel like the same tired formula over and over again.
Man, I used to absolutely love this series, and I actually just signed up for that Xfinity unlimited data plan 😳 so I could download the whole franchise—all eight movies...
I can't seem to track down the subtitles, but honestly, it doesn't even matter... I'll be able to follow the plot fine enough 😁
