Look, my default setting is being perfectly pleasant toward everyone I meet. If someone stays respectful and keeps things civil, there’s absolutely no reason for me to change that... But if they aren't? 🙂 😬
I’m really not one for unnecessary drama or picking fights. Honestly, if someone is just looking for an argument, acting arrogant, or being plain old foolish... I simply cut them out of my life entirely. However, if they decide to get personal and insult me, I’ll give it right back to them. Because frankly, I don't sit around letting people disrespect me.
I’m definitely going with a Starbucks roast—but don't even think about suggesting anything "light" or decaf. If you try that, you're looking at a one-way ticket to a stomach ache... 😬
I’ll take the heat over the freezing cold any day, so I’m doing alright... though I have to admit I’m feeling a bit drained. The heat makes it nearly impossible to get any decent rest—I don't usually drift off until about 2:00 AM, only to find myself wide awake again by 6:30...
It’s actually quite possible. I have a friend who can sip just a tiny amount of red wine and suddenly her face is covered in these red blotches within seconds... She’s been dealing with this for about a year now. Eventually, she figured out that vodka doesn't trigger any reaction at all, so she just made the switch to vodka and called it a day. 🙂
Much like Sophia Phillips10, I actually made the jump from JPMorgan Chase over to Wells Fargo... It was mostly because my experience at JPMorgan Chase was driving me absolutely insane. I have no idea what kind of internal procedures they run at the teller windows, but their pace is mind-numbingly slow. To top it all off, they really rubbed me the wrong way when they refused to approve an overdraft limit for me... 😬and that was specifically because I wasn't allowed to withdraw more than two checks per month. The breaking point, however, came when I walked into a local branch to pick up some checks, only to be told that I could only collect them from the specific branch where I originally opened the account.🙄So, naturally, I marched straight over to that designated branch and closed my account on the spot.😁 I’m not entirely sure what their current setup looks like—supposedly things have improved—but that was my reality three years ago when I finally decided to switch banks.
As for Wells Fargo, I don't really have any complaints. Sure, the branches can get crowded occasionally, but I rarely find a reason to actually walk through the door myself. I can pick up my checks at any branch, and if you need an overdraft approved, you just fill out a quick form and the funds are in your account by the next day. (I realize that's probably not the best long-term financial habit, but it was a lifesaver during a tight month.) Hypo was my runner-up, and honestly, I think they operate pretty similarly to Wells Fargo.

I summon every ounce of willpower I possess to remain civil... and that’s about as far as my tolerance goes! 🙂
Well, I can't say I'm quite that saintly 😬 If I’m at a backyard BBQ and someone starts cranking up that low-brow country stuff, I might give them one song to spare, but once it becomes a pattern 🙂... I simply offer a polite "thanks for having me" and make my exit toward the comfort of my own home .
I have a healthy respect for other people's musical tastes; in fact, I’m even willing to tolerate some truly questionable choices 😬 , provided they aren't being shoved down my throat... As far as I'm concerned, as long as I don't have to endure it (or listen to anyone talk about it), I really couldn't care less if a friend of mine listens to heavy metal in the privacy of their own room...
I once managed to pull a seventy-hour marathon without sleep, followed by a solid twenty-four-hour crash—just like I used to do back in my college days... but honestly? These days, there is absolutely no way I'm pulling that off again.
I picked up some pretty terrible sleep habits back in my college days, so now I’ve fallen into this routine where I’m lucky if I get four to six hours of shut-eye on a weekday. By the time the weekend rolls around, I’m absolutely dead to the world; I usually end up sleeping through most of Sunday because, naturally, I always have to be out and about on Saturdays...

Honestly, that’s what really gets under my skin about how they disqualify donors; I can get behind checking their history over the last year, two years, maybe even five—but to say someone is banned from donating blood for the rest of their life?! 😕 If they had actually contracted HIV back then, I highly doubt they'd even be alive today...
I just went down the rabbit hole and clicked on this link, and honestly, it’s just plain absurd. It claims that permanently disqualifies a donor—specifically a man—if he has ever in his life had sexual contact with another man... 😲 Are you kidding me? So even if a guy is perfectly healthy and had that kind of encounter just once five years ago, he’s essentially blacklisted from donating forever!? If an HIV test can accurately detect the virus within a three-to-four-month window, what on earth is the logic behind this rule!?
I usually stick to Aleve; the lady at the drugstore told me it’s fine to take alongside a drink, so that works out perfectly for me... 😳 😬 But in all seriousness, those are pretty much the only ones where the only side effect is actually getting rid of the headache in a reasonable amount of time... otherwise, I have issues. Some pills give me stomach pain—like if I take Voltaren, my stomach feels like it's on fire—while others leave me feeling dizzy afterward, like when I've had Excedrin, Tylenol, or Saridon. And don't even get me started on the rest; they're either way too weak and do absolutely nothing, or I practically have to swallow half a prescription just to feel a tiny bit of relief...
Hershey's definitely has the best cookies in my book—it’s such a shame they don’t offer a Speculaas version; those are absolutely top-tier. Don't get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of their chocolate bites and little treats, but their Lada biscuits are my absolute favorite. Lately, though, I haven't been able to find them in any stores... Petit is also pretty solid if you're looking for something decent... cerek: Ah, now I'm starving...

Really? Because when I tried, the pharmacist at my local CVS refused to sell me the vaginal suppositories without a script... though, to be fair, she did let me walk away with the cream... 😁
At any rate, she really needs to see a gynecologist. You can't just grab those medicated suppositories or creams over the counter without a prescription anyway... besides, a doctor will actually be able to figure out what's going on
I don't usually dwell on whether people have actually washed their hands before shaking mine, but I have to admit, there’s nothing quite as revolting as coming face-to-face with someone who has sweaty palms...😬 And don't even get me started on those people who shake hands like they're touching a lifeless corpse; it’s genuinely grating. At the end of the day, I’m not exactly running for the hand sanitizer the second I touch a stranger; if I happen to shake hands with someone who clearly hasn't seen soap in a while—say, a construction worker out in the sun—I’ll just wash my hands afterward, for heaven's sake.

I actually dealt with the exact same thing once... and honestly, it just vanished the moment I switched to better shoes.
silverfalcon7 said:Phobias are, by definition, IRRATIONAL fears...
Exactly. I was actually just about to suggest that what we're discussing might not even qualify as a phobia, but rather just a perfectly reasonable fear of snakes. A true phobia? That’s more like my friend, who—and I am being entirely literal here—actually passes out cold if she even catches a glimpse of a snake in a newspaper photo...
Susan Booth42 said:Moths are an absolute nightmare. Seriously, I would probably die screaming if I spotted one. I can’t even sleep at night if I have a suspicion there’s one lurking in my room; I find myself just lying there, straining to hear that faint, rhythmic fluttering of wings. If I hear it, I’m burying myself under the covers regardless of how sweltering it is in the room. It's pure, unadulterated terror.
This takes me back to my old college roommate... 😍 she once refused to even step foot in the bathroom—and she actually had to go, too—because she was convinced a moth was waiting for her inside. She wouldn't budge until I finally got back to the apartment and chased the little intruder away.
