Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Jonathan Perez88 said:... I actually had to start on them because of my hormone levels first; taking the pill was mainly to fix those imbalances, and the contraception part was just a secondary thing...

... what I really wanted to ask is... I've been on Logest for about 6 months now and I'm pretty happy with it, 👍 except my periods are still brutal. They're shorter than they used to be, sure, but I still have to basically live on painkillers for at least two days out of my five-day cycle just to function... it feels like it shouldn't be this hard.

A friend of mine went through the exact same thing with two or three different brands—she was taking hormones for cysts and stuff too.
Then she finally got an IUD and felt like a whole new person!
Seriously, talk to your doctor; it might be the perfect fix for you.

And probably the feeling that it definitely ISN'T where it's supposed to be.
Honestly, even just trying to get my bra on right is a struggle sometimes.
So forget about making any "movies" when I'm actually turned on—all the blood drains straight from my brain at that point.😎

So that's what she's missing, huh?
I barely even go at it three times a month, 🙂 yet my drive hasn't dipped in years.
Plus, one quick move and I was done with my period for good. 😉
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
I’m living in Sweden right now, and basically every gynecologist here is "private," though the government still subsidizes the care, so you just end up paying a small co-pay.

Pay attention to the last part
---------------------------------

pay attention to the last part
and lie down here next to me
forget everything you know
just relax now
don't waste your time
I love you
love how you touch my soul
and I don't get why it bothers you
don't worry about it
pay attention to the last part
and you'll remember it for a long time
pull another puff
breathe in the will to travel
and take my hand
I love you
love how you touch my soul
and I don't get why it bothers you
don't worry about it
pay attention to the last part
keep me inside you
I feel like I'm wandering through the terraces of consciousness
something inside me is splitting
I love you
love how you touch my soul
and I don't get why it bothers you
don't worry about it

Dry skin = itchy skin? in Health ·
Dario said:I usually just stick to Dove soap in the shower, but I've messed around with all sorts of shampoos too (even the baby kind).

Just grab some pH-balanced shampoos
and slather on some BABY OIL, or even just regular olive oil—do it right after you hop out of the shower while your skin is still soaking wet, then just let it air dry and soak in. 👍
It works wonders if you're dealing with super dry skin.

You can always just give them a call and ask whatever's on your mind.

Or try
They'll get back to you via email!
Dealing with Herpes? in Health ·

So, looking back at what I grabbed this summer back home (mostly because the sun was absolutely murdering my skin outdoors),
it was just some 5% Acyclovir cream from Belupo.

Andrew Hernandez said:I hear people saying that getting a cold sore is basically just your body's way of screaming that your immune system is trashed, you're stressed out, or you're running low on vitamins. Is that actually true?

What exactly is this supposed to be?
How should I treat this? And more importantly, what should I be avoiding?

So apparently, all that stuff is what causes it. Real genius.

The best med? Honestly, ANTIVIRIL is the only way to go—but only if you use it IMMEDIATELY. I mean, the absolute second you feel that first sting. You should always have some sitting in your medicine cabinet, otherwise, you're basically sprinting to the drugstore.
Glasses or contacts? in Health ·
I’ve been rocking hard contacts for about 20 years now.😢 (Back when there weren't many other options, and by the time they showed up, I was already too far gone.)
I basically trashed my eyes, so no pair of glasses is ever going to fix things for me now.
I deal with what doctors call fluctuating astigmatism.👎

But honestly, I can wear these same lenses—meaning the same prescription, not necessarily the exact same physical pair—without any real issues.
And my vision is actually 👍
quietfox17 said:That’s a solid 5, sit down.

Exactly like that—that's how you get rid of any chance of an early payoff.

Opinions are split on exactly WHEN pregnancy actually begins.
Either an upload or an implant. Your call.
Just a heads-up for those keeping score at home: a lot more "natural" miscarriages happen than people realize. It’s basically just nature doing its thing—when a fertilized egg fails to implant, it just exits the system. Call it natural selection if you want, but that's how the biology works.

I mean, honestly, I’m only calling it the "pregnancy period" starting from implantation anyway.
quietfox17 said:Those are hormone pills (progesterone), not CONTRACEPTION.
Just get it over with already.

And what does progesterone actually do? It PREVENTS implantation!!!
quietfox17 said:Not really.
It won't even touch ovulation because they aren't keeping the dosage up long enough!
She’s actually rooting for implantation (which is basically just a progesterone effect, let's be real!!!)

Actually, contraception is about preventing fertilization or implantation—it’s not just about stopping ovulation!!!!!!!

Hey!
Seriously, do me a favor and just use Google to look up contraception and ovulation. It’s not that hard. 🙄
Seriously, have you never heard of birth control pills messing with ovulation? Like, come on.
Justin Gonzalez87 said:Man! I can smell the drama from here...😁

And the absolute worst part? They're both right!!!
The morning-after pill basically works by either:
a) Stopping or "delaying" ovulation (aka contraception)
b) Preventing a fertilized egg from implanting (which is effectively an abortion)

Did you seriously sleep through Pulp Fiction???

I can handle an egg in an hour, no big deal,
but Melanie Griffith would probably spill the whole damn carton without even trying. 🤮

Chloe Nguyen3 said:I’ve been wondering about something: why don't women who've already had kids use the IUD? Just curious if anyone here actually knows the deal. And for those who haven't given birth yet but are planning to—why is the IUD off the table for them? Also, what's the word on diaphragms?🙏 🙏

Who says they aren't allowed to use them?
Well, here I am. Still alive, unfortunately. 😉

Can't get a Purkinje cell to work because the matrix just isn't spread out enough.
And the diaphragm is just a living nightmare. Honestly, who would ever choose to smoke a normal cigarette if they had to deal with this?
Karen Barrett62 said:Seriously, does nobody here know anything about Jimmy Jorgensen?! 😢

He's an actor, singer, and rock musician.

Karen Barrett62 said:Look to your left, there's a Swede. They've titled this one "Old, New, Borrowed and Blue" here, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the actual title is "The dog's called fiat 128".

I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who digs European cinema or Dogme films—personally, I think it's one of the better ones in the movement!!

Good grief, talk about a wild translation.
The original actually means "look to the left, there's a Swede."

I haven't seen it myself, but over on Rotten Tomatoes, the reviews are pretty lukewarm, if not totally lost.

It's the first Dogme comedy. Honestly, I don't see how you can mix Dogme with comedy; it just doesn't click for me.
Real Dogme should feel like a documentary.
If it's a comedy, it just feels like some hidden camera prank show to me.🙄

I'm really not feeling the urge to go catch this one.
